- Penny Boudreau reported her 12-year-old daughter Karissa missing on the night of a heavy snowstorm in January 2008. In an emotional news conference, the Nova Scotia mother made a tearful appeal for the public’s help in finding the little girl.
But a week later, Karissa's body was discovered. Karissa's father, along with the lead RCMP officer assigned to the case, takes us into the investigation, the undercover sting operation... and a family's worst nightmare, made all the more devastating by a stunning confession that hit close to home.

NO, you "weren't" the only one Carmen my friend! 💔 What a horrifying death that sweet innocent "Child" faced. It's been said it takes "4 to 5 minutes" to die by "'strangulation"! So sweet Karissa had to be looking into her own mother's "eyes"# as she snuffed the life out of her! It's "devastating" to thing what Karissa was thinking as her mother took her life. Maybe moments of karissa thinking her mother would stop at any moment, bc maybe her mother was just angry for a few seconds and would release her from a lesson her mother was just trying to teach her!!! A person can only ",speculate" how "terrifying that precious babygirl's last thoughts were!!! "I am a Christian", and I've always "believed" that when it comes to the 'brutal" death/murder of a Child, "GOD" is right there, at that "moment" to usher that "Child".straight to HIS "Holy Kingdom", and that child felt "NOTHING" while she was being killed! I believe that bc that Child, at the age of 12 had NOT commited any serious sin at that age!!! I believe Karissa is with the LORD now!!!. No doubt in my mind!!! GOD BE WITH US ALL..."AMEN" 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Okay so if she had been planning it for days, isn’t that premeditated? Why was she only charged with second-degree murder?
Karissa said "mommy, don't!" Bella Watts said "daddy, don't!" ...and yet their monster parents continued to kill them. Unreal. These people just must be monsters.
What a waste of beautiful soul. She could have easily sent Karissa back to her dad instead of killing her.
I wouldn't grant parole to any criminal who commits such a heinous crime.
Exactly the same thing I'm thinking , this allows these MURDERERS to repeat any crime once they know if they plead guilty , they'll surely go on parole , this is disgusting , the laws around the world stinks , even in my country 😥
People who murder should never walk the streets again... especially if the murder is intentional.

Overwhelmed by this father's strenght and positive way of sharing Karissa's memories with his little daughter. May God bless his new family forever.

I have seen my own 12 yr old sons eyes open, after he died. He had beautiful eyes. We witnessed his death. Long story but, I wish this on no one.
The mother looks guilty!! Her expressions, her eyes, everything she does is exaggerated.
To kill a stranger is one thing, but to kill your own flesh and blood is another. She should never be free, ever.
My heart aches so much for her father, I'm so happy he's found a little bit of happiness again.
Karissa's dad is such a wonderful man. I'm so happy he has been able to find some measure of comfort in his new family, and keeps her memory alive with so much love. What a senseless tragedy.

Nah! Karissa's last word will never haunt that murderer. She never showed any remorse for her own daughter even after she got caught. Just hearing her last moments made my heart break in pieces. The feeling of fear and betrayal that Karissa was feeling during that moment when she knew for sure that it is the end for her 😭
There should be absolutely NO PAROLE especially when the victim is a child!!! They said she thought about killing her baby girl for awhile so I don't understand why she only got manslaughter?!!! That's NOT justice!

Jon Elliot is such a dignified, well spoken and capable law enforcement officer. Thank goodness for people like him. Diligence and persistence paid off. Penny is a sick individual who inflicted her toxicity on an innocent child. She doesn’t even deserve her own miserable life. Heartbreaking.
You can see the trauma in the faces of the retired sergeant and the prosecutor. It’s so tough.

I am from South Africa where crime and murder is regarded as 'normal' with a corrupt police force - this story really touched me. We live in an evil society and this happens probably all over the world. We had a guy who decapitated his own mother and walk around with her head in a shopping bag. Satan is walking around like a roaring lion but in the end, God will be the victorious One!
The moment I saw her act for the Tv and the way she couldn’t even talk to her daughter I knew it was her.
This is so sad, made me bawl. How could she do that to her own daughter, she should have just sent her to live with her Dad. Absolutely horrible.

I remember this case... never ceases to amaze me how incredibly selfish and narcissistic this "mother" was. The things she did to her own daughter are absolutely appalling.

I have 3 daughters and they are all different ages. they are my babies! we do not always see eye to eye. i would never think of hurting them! i have no words for this thing!

Right at the start in that clip of the woman saying they just want her home safe, I am instantly on the alert , if that is the missing girls mother she looks suspect as F&%k!!....
Whoa why is Penny getting access to the outside world & relationships when Her daughter doesn't get too??!!! So in that area you can just kill someone then pulls a few years n get out. While having relationships while locked up.
That area really needs to fix that cos that's messed up.

I have been a single parent for 22 years and I remember the struggles and arguments I had with my son during his adolescence. Being a parent is hard, twice as hard if you are a single parent but this is life and happiness comes out of overcoming challenges...I don’t believe the English language contains a word dirty enough to describe this female specimen of subhuman matter.
She pled GUILTY!! She should have gotten LIFE NO PAROLE!! Makes no sense if someone pleads guilty they get LESS time *anger*

I love the father’s attitude, I’m sure his little girl would have been the same. So sad her life was cut so short, she could have gone on to be a veterinarian and done big things :/

For a man??😡😡 Plus a man who's lived life and your daughter not even a teen yet, not lived yet, there's no reason at ALL!! Why didn't let her live with dad, grandma or other good family members. Plus a person who asks you to pick between your own flesh and blood over them😳😡😡. Some people don't even know what a blessing it is to be a parent (I almost became 1 twice). I LOVE my nieces&nephews and NOBODY can tell to pick them over them (just the way I am with them&talk about them...nobody will even THINK of asking me.
