Nice review. I recently played both Cascadero and Through the Desert at a con, yet I came to the opposite conclusion. I enjoyed Cascadero far more than TtD! Both give a similar vibe, but I think Cascadero played a bit faster and I liked the art style more. It just seemed more fun to try and compete for seals on the tracks, as well as the various goals. TtD is more about controlling areas of the map, which was fine, but felt less rewarding to me. Both good games though.
Great to know Cascadero is preferred by some people. Thanks for sharing! I think we prefer TtD just because it felt much more mean at 2 (which is what we like), but we need more plays for sure of TtD.
