I have a 2005 grand caravan with a 3.3 i changed the egr then the fuel pump went out so i changed that and after that i changed the spark plugs and now my van is throwing 5 codes which are p1029 p0405 p0340 p0335 and p0122 before i spend any more money what would cause all of these codes at the same time and what should i do to diagnose this issue before i start replacing everything
I searched and searched to find a good video on how to replace this sensor (or even locate it). This one did the trick. Thank you so much! I have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan (176k miles) and this is the third time I've had to replace this sensor. It was nice to be able to replace it myself. I got a Duralast part from AutoZone for about $25, seems to working great so far.
Thank you for the video. I’ve been driving my van for over a year with a hesitation problem. After seeing how easy it was to change the Crankshaft Position Sensor, I decided to change it. Works great now.
Thanks man I changed the camshaft sensor and the crankshaft sensor and the car started running appreciate it man thank you you saved me time money and my family from walking
thank you for being correct with the info. would it have been possible to go below the van and remove it without taking those hoses and battery tray off??
Thank you! I watched a different video for replacing the same part but still wasn't sure of anything. The tip about removing the battery and tray should really help to be able to have better access to the area. Im hoping to get this part fixed this weekend :)
Once my 2004 dodge caravan warms up to it's starts to stall/die when coming to a red light. It will start back up but it will rough right when I start to go. Do you think this could be my problem? Does heat cause these sensors to fail?
very informative great job guys I think this is what is wrong with my 2007 grande caravan the engine was replaced so I feel that the replacement engine must have been an 03 to 05 I will be subscribing
Should have watched this before I wasted an hour looking for that stupid thing. Removing the battery and battery tray makes all the difference. Thanks!
Please help! My Mom has a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan is the crankshaft sensor still in the same location as shown in the video? Can you take the driver's side tire off and get to the sensor easier? My boyfriend said that's how he replaced his on same type of vehicle just a different year. Can you please explain in the simplest terms possible how to replace this sensor without any knowledge of vehicles. I'm tired of waiting on one of the men to do it so Mom and I are thinking about tackling it ourselves.
Thanks my 3.3 just doesnt fire replaced coilpack still dont have spark i would not have found this part video was very helpful havent replaced it yet but will let you know when finished thanks again
the video was very helpful my van is running fine other than me breaking a vacuum line t this sensor has been changed the procedure was a little different i dont have the battery sensor nor did i have to remove the idler switch but thank you so much for this if i can be of any help in the future plz dont hesitate to notify me at my e mail
Question would the cam shaft censor have ties with the van not starting as I bought a new van i left my 03 sit over the winter went out to start today it just spins its getting fuel as I check the fuel rail now wondering if its the cam shaft sensor or the spark plug module please help thanks
Hello GOR, 01 Caravan will not start with camshaft sensor connected. Will start and run with it disconnected. If the van is running and you then connect the camshaft sensor, it immediately shuts off. Any suggestions? Thank you for very informative videos
gregory elmore sounds like a faulty sensor. Even new they can be defective or even wired wrong from the factory. Try a new sensor. If that doesn't solve tell issue check your wiring and also make sure the sensor is all the way in cause if it can't read the cam or crank then the pcm will think it's missing and not let the motor run. It's kind of a safety feature to keep you from blowing the motor up.
i just changed my water pump car not starting i changed my tensioner took. what you think, battery good oil light keeps coming on after turning the key like the engines going to turn on.
2002 Dodge caravan 3.3 its giving me a aheadace I switch engine but with the same year n same 3.3 right I connect everything right but when I going to turn to start it's stall but no start right I checked everything that came to my mind the spark plugs the coil good the both fuse box the wiring but no clud right I took out my scanner n the codes is P0508 n I also fix the but still it won't turn to start the engine up dose anyone else knows what really wrong with it please help me out n God with bless you so much n thanks ones again
Hey i change the crank sensor cam sensor pcm spark plugs spark plug wires timing chain coil pack and still can not get a spark at spark plugs. It just wont fire. It is a 2002 town and country. And suggestions?
@@TGORRetroReviews didnt know a 2002 town and country had that. Thought it was called cam sensor. Can you tell me where the Cam angle sensor could be located?
@@TGORRetroReviews ok i did watch the video. Thats the crank sensor. We change that and it has spark. The coil pack does not. We changed that sensor too. So what could be preventing the coil back from getting spark? ASD is clicking by the way. We inspected wire and saw no breaks.
I changed this camshaft sensor on Routan 2011 but its still taking couple of tries to turn on. And code still says after I erased "" Po340 $07E8 camshaft position sensor A circuit Bank 1 or single sensor""
Oh yeah I also have to mention on the 3.3 the camshaft sensor is where you say it is on the left side driver side but the crankshaft sensor is on the right side right next to the air filter
Hi again, let me explain what went on.. I changed the sensor but now it won't fire up at all. I was having the same issues with the old sensor however, with the old sensor it would fire up but would turn of after a minute. But now with the new sensor it won't fire up at all.. Any ideas?
First step is to see if you are getting fuel. Turn the key to the on position while you have someone else remove the gas cap and listen. When you turn the key to on on position if they here a hum then it's working, no hum then it's not.
mom82041 have the fuel pump checked. It could be losing pressure when it warms up therfore not getting enough fuel up to the motor and so the pcm will shut down everything to protect the motor. Once it cools down the pump will kick back on work OK till it warms up again repeating the cycle.
that code is a misfire on cylinder 2. if you replaced the coil, wire, plugs, there is a possibility that it could be a bad injector as well. make sure to check the plug and coil for correct voltage. also check your wire for a positive connect and that it's not defective
Well recently got mine changed out okay with help of this video - fortunately that seemed to be the only problem and car ran good again - my 2005 Grand caravan battery box had a couple more bolts holding it down than he shows - anyway thanks for the video.
Hellllppppp my 03 caravan No Crank No Start. Replaced starter still nothing, when attempt to start nothing but you can hear the relays working.. but no engine attempt to start & Radio cuts off other features works. Heat blows. Lights comes on. And replaced Fuse Box
The crankshaft sensor seems to be a Dodge issue. Had the same problem with my 2016 Dodge Journey. Fixed it and it runs like a champ. Difference is with the stupid computer in the newer cars the vehicle would shut off automatically while driving and steering would lock up which is dangerous
Hi when I took apart my 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan sport on that side is the camshaft sensor and on the left side of the engine is the crankshaft sensor there or is the camshaft on the crankshaft sensor in the same general area

ok. i just called advance auto 15 $ crank sensor
Abu Mannocchi yea the sensor is pretty cheap.

where is this crankshaft position sensor on a 2005 dodge caravan SE, 2.4 engine???/ where can I find a video for it??? HELP
back of engine @ end of camshaft!
I took off the bolt but sensor isnt coming out, seem like its stuck tight. How can I get it out?
Simplist thing you could try is gently twisting it while wiggling it.
The crankshaft sensor feels like its ceased at that location meaning its stuck/frozen doesnt come off easy
Aida Torres I’m having the same problem. How’d you get yours off?
Did you get it off? Mines is stuck.
