Great video! This is where we become aware of how good some lubes are while some popular lubes are not worth a darn. Hornady one shot Lubricant is absolutely top drawer when it comes to keeping down rust to zero. The hornady product is not the product you lube cases with. I adjusted the trigger down on mine with no problem, and the safety does still work. The bedding arrangement on the 334 is the most advanced I have seen in any factory rifle, they also use Pillars on the screws which is very advanced! I used Slip 2000 on the bolt, and it moved back and forth like it was on roller bearings.
I keep an oil film on all firearms. (Too much) I tell my Son that I've cleaned & oiled a gun & he usually asks, "How many quarts?" 😂 (But they don't rust) On the finish I use synthetic motor oil since it inhibits rust & corrosion. Work's great!
They are great rifles and offer a nice alternative to the modern synthetic stock that has become the norm. The issues with the trigger are minor and hopefully there will be a good aftermarket solution soon. While I'm a little disappointed in the durability of the metal finish, I wasn't really surprised by it. We are actively working on the refinishing project and will post the final results. Thanks for watching, and enjoy your new toy.
Debating creating my own video on how to disassemble and actually adjust the trigger (swap or cut springs, set first stage and second stage engagement points).. sounds like youtube has issues with posting videos like that.? The trigger can be made really nice if you completely disassemble and adjust it
That sounds like a great idea. My suggestion would be to post the video on Rumble and then do a TH-cam video talking about the one you posted on Rumble so that people can find it.
I've done that before and it works well. That is actually what I've had to do to my "stainless" Ruger Hawkeye Guide Gun to control rust. That said I'm a huge fan of these new coatings available. I've got guns that were Duracoated 10+ years ago that are still great. Thanks for sharing 👍
Good information I’m picking my Stevens 334 .308 with the beautiful walnut stock today . I’ve got a brand new Leupold 3-9 x 50 scope I’m going to have mounted and bore scoped at the store. I’m going with the.308 140gr ammo.I’ll be sure to oil it down

Total agreement on Hornady One-Shot! 👍
Just got mine yesterday...243...ill keep it oiled.
Turtle wax works well too if you get to it before the rust starts.

Having the sun Shade on a scope makes it darker. Only use a sun shade when you are going to be looking toward the sun.

I've always used wax on my guns. They also sell a ceramic spray on wax for car paint that works pretty good

The followup video aired tonight.
Thanks for watching 👍
Dang, that amount of rust in such a short time on a new rifle is crazy!
I know bro.
It's a lye!!!.... I have a Brenner Br20/ AKA Stevens/AKA Ata Arms...,..No Problems in the cold, wet southt of Germany black Forest region!
A lie? He literally showed serveral pictures of the gun rusting. Just because your gun didn't rust doesn't mean someone else's gun didn't.
