1. Pocahontas and John Smith- I’ve always loved them ever since I was a kid, despite I didn’t get to watch Pocahontas until I was older. But I remember falling in love with both characters in the Colors of the Wind promo from the Lion King VHS! I feel they’re such an underrated couple all because her movie was very loosely inspired by a real woman. Talking just Disney, I truly feel they’re the most beautiful couple, princess and prince. They actually weren’t looking for love, Pocahontas was actually trying to get out of an arranged marriage to someone she knew she’d never be truly happy with, while he actually started out as the first villain protagonist, and no doubt is ladykiller who loves adventures more than committing to a relationship. Their waterfall encounter is undoubtedly the second most beautiful and romantic scene ever, I really love it was an instrumental to show how they’re feeling without dialogue, and especially the mist provided a heavenly and ethereal atmosphere as shown when John Smith first looked at her, it was as if he had discovered Aphrodite. I also find the second part just as beautiful as he’s gently trying to coax her into trusting him despite she doesn’t understand anything he’s saying, but the spirits are whispering to trust him, and the infinity symbol shows they’re soulmates and belong together! I really love how their relationship is more realistic and does mature as shown with John Smith going from a slightly arrogant captain to learning so much from her If I Never Knew You was his turn to show how wrong she was about never knowing her, how alone and empty but unchanged he’d be. I also really love how protective and sacrificial they are for the other, especially when he hugged her after he was freed it screamed he was never letting her go again, but hearing Radcliffe about to shoot her father had to make the heartbreaking decision to sacrifice his happiness to protect her indirectly. The fact they loved each other so much they let each other go actually puts their love on an entirely higher level than almost any other Disney couple. As much as the ending completely shattered and broke my heart I slightly appreciate and admire Pocahontas doesn’t give up her life/people for someone she didn’t know for long despite her entire tribe knowing how amazing he was, considering her father called him brother so putting him on the same level as her or a chief and even giving his chief robes to him, if that doesn’t scream coronating him as the future husband of his daughter (assuming if he came back) I don’t know what does. So at least she wasn’t being like Ariel who was willing to give up everything including her family for someone she barely knew. I actually really loved that as badly as Pocahontas wanted to be with him and see his world, she knew her people needed her more than ever as a middleman and other duties, she made a heartbreaking and sad decision, but it was ultimately the right thing to do, especially asking him to leave without her to recover, even using his own words to checkmate him to show this is the right thing to do, that she values him living over staying with her and his wound unfortunately would eventually kill him. If you also take account the lyrics of If I Never Knew You this actually makes the ending that much sadder especially because Disney never gave us an actual sequel to finally give us Pocahontas Smith. Still so sad they’re the ONLY Disney couple (not just royal) that didn’t get a happily ever after, and personally I feel they deserved it the most because of all the hardships they had to endure. 1. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider- I love them just as much as Pocahontas and John Smith! I actually really liked how they kinda couldn’t stand each other at first, especially with him trying to use her naive and sunshine and rainbows attitude to his advantage to trick her into giving his satchel back without taking her to the lanterns, but Rapunzel certainly isn’t stupid and no damsel in distress. I really loved how after a song about their dreams with the thugs they open up a little more and especially her saying she liked Eugene Fitzherbert instead of Flynn Rider meant a lot to him, someone who accepted and empathized with his loneliness who just wanted a better life and knows what its like to be afraid/against the world. I also really love I See the Light, it is on the exact same level as If I Never Knew You as it’s about how both used to be before meeting each other and now that both of their dreams are completed a brand new one is born by them realizing they want each other! If only they kissed!!! The scene as well is undoubtedly the most beautiful and romantic scene ever and honestly I don’t think Disney or any other studio will ever be able to trump it. I also really loved when he is on his way to be hanged her panics upon realizing how dangerous “mother” truly is and isn’t scared for his own life, but Rapunzel being with Gothel again. After he is revived I cracked up he actually joked about dying. I really love in the series it shows more realistic relationship growth that sometimes they do disagree but they help each other overcome their flaws. I really love that Eugene is so patient when she rejected his proposal 2X and all he wants is to be with her! Overall they’re my favorite Disney couple, princess and prince as well 2. Milo and Kida- a very underrated couple especially because Atlantis is an underrated movie. I really love how that despite they’re complete opposites, they compliment each other so well considering Kida can’t read Atlantian without him. I also really love in comparison to Pocahontas and John Smith, Milo can actually read and speak Atlantian. I also liked how he was so concerned for her when she became bonded with the heart, realizing it could kill her and is willing to die doing the right thing to stop Rourke and save Atlantis even if he’s alone. I also really love how he chose to stay with her considering Washington DC doesn’t have anything for him, but he wants to help restore Atlantis to its former glory. The thing I enjoyed the most is despite they didn’t kiss, they don’t rush into a relationship so fast like most Disney couples. 3. Tiana and Naveen- I really like they’re kinda like Anya and Dmitri as they actually are pretty feisty and catty with each other at first because he’s a lazy rich brat and she’s a hardworking no nonsense take charge person. But eventually they managed to help each other grow through their personalities, including willing to stay as frogs to be with each other. Plus Naveen was willing to marry someone he didn’t love to make sure Tiana got her restaurant, and Lottie cares about Tiana so much she refuses to actually marry him but will kiss him to break the spell and wishes them all the happiness instead of being bitter and jealous Tiana stole her crown. 4. Jasmine and Aladdin- I don’t really like how he lied the entire movie instead of fessing up when she recognized him in the middle of the movie. Also I personally feel Jasmine fell in love rather quickly considering she was adamant about getting married considering she only knew him for like 15 minutes before nearly kissing him. At least in the Return of Jafar we get to see more realistic relationship growth and even have a redemption arc with Iago. 5. Ariel and Eric- They’re a very cute couple despite Ariel is one of my lesser favorite princesses. Eric is so kind and compassionate when meeting her and believing she survived a shipwreck invites her to stay in the palace to recover. My main problem is he fell in love with her voice instead of who she was without it, and I view their date he was more curious and intrigued with her very curious and slightly eccentric personality. I feel Ariel’s desire to learn more about humans very quickly fizzled out when she saw him. I also feel she was willing to give up her entire world for someone she hardly knew aside he was a prince, had a dog and played the snarfblat. Otherwise it’s when Eric hearing her finally sing he realizes she is the only one he wants. I do kinda love the ending with Triton not forcing her to stay a mermaid knowing she’d be unhappy forever, but decided Eric wasn’t like the humans that killed Athena. HM- Tarzan and Jane. They’re pretty similar to Pocahontas and John Smith in that they come from completely different worlds but they ultimately learn a lot from each other, including with Pocahontas/Tarzan’s families willing to accept a stranger that has proven themselves. I actually cried when Kerchek dies and he apologizes for always kinda hating Tarzan all because he couldn’t accept his own son being murdered. And Jane realizes she doesn’t want to be a proper lady in English society anymore and her father encourages her to be with the man she loves even joining his daughter. HM- Anastasia and Dmitri- I feel they’re one of the most realistic couples considering they got on each other’s nerves a lot at first and Dmitri only tolerated her for the rubles, but Anya is no damsel in distress and especially the part she punched him in her sleep, woke up and is like “Oh I’m so sorry! Oh its just you that’s ok” just cracked me up! I also really enjoyed in a way he’s like Flynn in that he eventually realized money couldn’t buy happiness, but he wanted her or at least for her grandmama to meet her because he realized Anya was actually the long lost Great Grand duchess Anastasia. Plus in the end despite how close she was with her grandmama she chose to be with Dmitri instead of the royal life.
Part 3: -Hercules and Meg. Hercules isn’t a personal favorite movie or couple, but I will give credit in a way they’re somewhat more realistic and mature for a Disney couple, considering Meg is the first “princess” to have her heart broken before, hence she’s afraid of falling in love again, and unfortunately her “love” for her ex got her trapped into a seemingly inescapable situation. She at first pretends to like him so she can finally be free of servitude from Hades, but ends up accepting she actually loves him. My only problem is Zero to Hero is meant to span over several months, it would’ve been so much better to see Hercules constantly trying to impress her, just for her to walk away each time, but deep down she can’t help but fall for the big lug. Otherwise the timing just makes it seem like she fell in love with him in one night. But at least she actually died protecting him, and he was willing to stay in the underworld forever to save her soul. He even gave up being a freaking god just to be with her and his friends and family on Earth. *I can’t comment on Thumbelina or Kaylee and Garret as I haven’t seen their movies
So beautiful video!!!! I really agree with your choices, I would only put Ariel-Eric higher and Mulan-Shang / Pocahontas-John Smith lower.... Of course Rapunzel & Eugene will always be our eternal winners, such a great job Disney did with those 2.....
Ariel and Eric don’t deserve that high personally. Yes they’re a cute couple but their love isn’t near as beautiful as Pocahontas and John Smith. For one Ariel was convinced she’d be truly happier with someone who didn’t even exist let alone her species after her father destroyed her human treasures. 2 Just my opinion but Eric fell in love with her voice instead of who she was without it, I always felt he was more intrigued with her personality during the date, and I also am not the biggest fan he was determined to marry whoever rescued him because of her voice, almost marrying Ursula because of it. Not to mention he didn’t even know her name until the night before they got married. Like I said they’re a cute couple but Ariel imo was also kinda bratty and selfish because her actions unintentionally put her kingdom in danger. Not to mention revealing she was a mermaid was a risky move as well. I do love Ariel and Eric, but another problem is I also feel Eric doesn’t appear that much in the sequel either. So we don’t even get to really see him as a dad.
Part 2: -Belle and Beast. Probably the most popular couple aside from Rapunzel and Flynn Rider rapidly climbing up to Ariel, Jasmine and Belle’s level. I do love that she saw past all the fur and teeth and she could see the goodness in him, but I do have some issues. 1 when she was warned not to enter the west wing, she literally went in that very night immediately disobeying his one rule, she had the entire freaking castle at her disposal. It would’ve made much more sense if it had been say a month and she let her curiosity get the better of her. What would’ve happened if it was actually a damaged area filled with dangers and traps? Otherwise she immediately defies his only rule! Also without the Enchanted Christmas, after the wolves scene, we never see Beast struggling with his temper, and realistically people don’t change that fast for someone else. I also don’t like he only allowed her to trade places with her dad because she was a girl for the spell, so in other words he was using her for his advantage hoping she’d fall for him. I also find “she had to love him back” part stupid when the entire point was for HIM to have a change of heart and attitude. I do agree how quickly Belle forgave him for literally arresting her father and forcing her to stay with him, you’d think she’d want absolutely nothing to do with him would last for at least a couple of weeks. She cooled down rather quickly, and had no idea if her dad was even feeling better considering he was literally sick when she saw him locked up! Why didn’t the Beast offer medical attention for Maurice to show kindness and THATS how Belle starts to realize he’s softening and does care about her? Also I feel Belle’s dreams about traveling and adventures kinda vanished in the end. -Mulan and Shang. I do agree Mulan is truly one of the best Disney princesses, she personally just isn’t my favorite I guess because I don’t really connect with her. She really doesn’t have any personal faults aside lying about who she was but for good reasons. I personally just didn’t really see Shang actually developing feelings for Ping (I don’t go for Disney accidentally made Shang bisexual/potentially gay) more just he was very impressed with Ping’s improvements considering she was literally the weakest at first. I really loved Mulan 2 as it provided a more realistic relationship growth for a Disney couple, that even before Mushu interfered both were already expressing different opinions on certain things. The yin yang necklaces were so cute to show they completed each other and despite they are different their differences are why they fell in love! And OMG Shang almost died to protect her from falling to her death! She’s so stricken with overwhelming heartbreak and grief she ordered the princesses to pursue their own happiness and saved China again by lying about them and offering herself as hero of China to wed a prince of Quigon to prevent war and seal the alliance. While for the most part Shang was more traditional in following the emperor’s orders and even scolding the princesses for flirting with their escorts, he sides with Mulan’s ideology in the end considering he almost lost her again, this time in marriage. -Phoebus and Esmerelda. I really don’t know how to feel about them. I actually really loved they’re in a way an interracial couple. I love how Phoebus was never comfortable with Frollo’s orders, and upon seeing the beautiful Esmerelda actually tossed some coins despite knowing how gypsies were viewed by many. The encounter is hilarious as they’re taking wise cracks at each other, but he is trying to show he doesn’t mean her any harm or anything, just wanted her name. He even lied about her claiming sanctuary to protect her, and refused to murder an innocent family when Frollo was literally genociding Paris just to get laid 🤮 Not to mention he attempted to step in when Quasi’s scorning and mocking got out of control. My main problem is I don’t know how to feel that Esmerelda chose Phoebus/cute one over Quasi. I know it had nothing to do with his looks or anything, but Quasimodo did a TON for Esmerelda, while Phoebus wouldn’t have even found the court of miracles if he refused Quasi’s help. Its almost a sick implication only cute people “get the girl/guy” and considering the movie only took place about 2 or 3 days I found their relationship develop waay too fast, considering Esmerelda and Phoebus weren’t looking for love, if anything she was already busy just trying to make an income being a gypsy while avoiding being arrested. -Aurora and Philip. Yes they’re pretty much the same level as Snow White. But I just love how fairytale it is, that despite they fell in love for their looks and voice, Philip had to fight a freaking dragon and despite shitting himself the first time seeing Malificent transform kept fighting despite without the fairies he would’ve been lunch. -Snow White and Florian. They didn’t even have an actual conversation or her actually speaking or singing to him, he automatically decided he wanted to marry her? And she as well sings “There’s no one like him” 🤦🏻♀️ -Cinderella and Charming. Without the sequel they’re almost as bad as Snow. He spent at least 4 hours with her and never bothered ask whom he had the pleasure of dancing with? He can’t even remember what she looked like, instead relied on a shoe and knew probably a lot of women would fit it. He doesn’t even go out himself to find her, leaving his problem to the Grand Duke. I don’t count 3 as canon, considering they had to give the prince more personality so he wasn’t so boring or “only marrying the girl who fit the slipper” I do like how he kept questioning if Anastasia was truly the right person for him, despite he didn’t remember Cinderella at all he couldn’t shake this curiosity about her, and that is more realistic when it comes to dating that you thought for sure you wanted someone, only to discover several things you don’t agree with and there’s a much better fit waiting for you to notice her. However despite the original ball was actually his dad’s idea, he was literally being forced to choose a wife to become a baby machine so the king had heirs to play with. Hopefully Cinderella was ready to become a mom on top of enjoying doing housework even as a princess. - Kristoff and Anna. Personally I’m not a fan. Anna fell for Hans in just one night, when she met Kristoff he started lecturing her about marrying someone she just met, which is understandable because that’s crazy. But he only chose to help her after his sled accidentally got destroyed, so using her basically. They spent most of the movie being catty with each other, especially when she stupidly tried climbing a mountain with absolutely no idea what she’s doing. Fast forward to the troll song, he even shouted at his family “We aren’t a couple!” But after returning her to the palace all of a sudden canon live without her? I get his concern for her as a friend, but she literally spent only one day and night with him, she basically fell in love with him just as fast with Hans, but this time Elsa had no objections? I found the kiss kinda came waay too fast, I would’ve preferred he asked her on a date or something in the ending and she agrees, and in the sequel they realize their feelings are growing into something deeper than mere friendship…. -Odette and Derek. For not being Disney, they’re actually a really cute and mature couple! Really the only thing that bugged me is they kinda hated each other as kids, but when they’re grown Derek all of a sudden loves her? I understand childhood friends can see each other in a different way in time, but I do give credit for her actually refusing his proposal at first because he didn’t really love anything aside her beauty, giving him time to think why he truly loved her. I will give Derek huge points for determination to rescue her despite everyone believing she died in the incident, literally training his ass off to find the great beast that took her. Not to mention how horrified and crushed he was upon learning he proclaimed love being fooled, but screaming at Rathbart to resurrect her despite he’s a very dangerous wizard that could’ve easily killed him. He was even begging Odette to forgive him for breaking her heart 🥺😭 I also love how happy he was to finally find her when she transformed from a swan, so happy to be with the woman he desperately wants and does truly love. I just really love how he shows how loving and protecting he is of her in nearly every sequel but he trusts her to handle herself (despite the most recent ones are pretty dumb as they don’t even really have Derek or Odette as the main characters anymore, like the writers forgot the story is literally from Swan Lake and why people loved the original 3 so much) Not to mention the dude is nearly as romantic if not a tad more than John Smith. But ultimately the dude even had a song about apologizing to her when they had a small disagreement because he loves her more than being arrogant in believing he was correct about keeping the notes. This isn’t against the characters themselves but I’m kinda mad the writers chose to make their child be an orphan who they adopted after her father died in an barn explosion, but they don’t have any biological children, at least yet, a really sneaky way to get around the stupid “how babies are born” like kids will eventually learn it later just do it now. I also wish we saw more of them experiencing realistic parenting instead of after Alicia is introduced she basically hangs out with Rogers or Lucas instead of spending time without her new family.
I saw this video as a premiere preview a few days ago - excited to be able to watch it now! Firstly, what a sweet idea 💕 I've always wondered which Disney couples other people liked/disliked. As an adult I also can't help but have some issues with Belle & the Beast's relationship 🙄 What you said about Aladdin & Jasmine was spot on couldn't agree more! by the way you chose SUCH PERFECT scenes to represent each one, it was so nice watching it 'flow so smoothly', especially Anastasia & Dimitri. awww love your first place :')
Hmmm absolutely no idea 😂 could be any of the ones from your top 10. I do know for Barbie though - easy, Erica & Dominick! Do you have a favourite Barbie couple?
Same! I do really love the message of Beauty and the Beast with her loving who he truly is on the inside, and doesn’t care about his appearance. However, I feel certain elements get overlooked or ignored. Like I would be concerned if my sickly dad didn’t have me to take care of him. And no one ever talks about her breaking the one rule he gave her, she had the VIP treatment and chose to go snooping around. I do also really love Aladdin and Jasmine, but personally I don’t think I’d want to date someone who catfished me the entire time. I get where he’s coming from, but she already saw him as Aladdin and liked him for him. Its really a shame I don’t get why a lot overlook John Smith’s character growth. Ignoring it being based on a real story, I don’t get why a lot tend to focus on his face value instead of him almost dying in the end protecting her dad from a bullet he knew would kill him.
hi ,the comments for the french barbie songs were not available so i have to write here but the person who sang Shine is the same person who played Genevieve.🤍🤍
I love this ranking and honor your opinions. But I have to say that Ariel wanted and dreamed of being human long before she met Eric, so she didn't give her voice to Ursula just because of him. Getting infatuated with Eric and Triton destroying the grotto were just the last drops for her decision. Jasmine and Aladdin, Phoebus and Esme, Odette and Derek, and Kristoff and Anna are really underrated, so I'm glad to see them this "high". I especially love Esme and Phoebus. Despite their issues, I will always have a soft spot with Belle and Adam (or the Beast or the Prince or whatever you like to call him). Your top 5 is beyond amazing, especially the first place. Great editing as well.
I see your point about Ariel, but she only gave her voice after seeing Eric, which immediately seems suspiscious ;) So glad we agree on my top 5! Thank you for your comment, always apreciated :D
@@movieslover9094 Yeah, true. :) What do you think of animash couples like Nala and Simba, Kovu and Kiara and Balto and Jenny? I was also wondering if you are going to do the ranking of Barbie-couples or friendships.
@@juliapakarinen7956 I have a special place in my heart for all the animals from Disney, specially for Lady and the Tramp. But I also love Kiara and Kovu (not that much Simba and Nala, since they were suposed to be married anyway, seems too predictable to me). I used to watch Balto a lot when I was a kid but I never rewatched since then so I don't really remember the characters.
Yes she dreamed about experiencing being a human even for one day. But after Triton scolded her for saving a human and especially obliterating his statue, that’s what pushed Ariel to truly believe she’d be much happier with someone who didn’t even know she existed, let alone her species. Plus she honestly believed she could make him fall in love with her in just 3 days? Her desire to learn more about humans very quickly fizzled out when she saw Eric, considering it wasn’t even shown in LM3 before music came back that she was always sneaking to sunken ships to collect treasures. Anyways the point is she even screamed at daddy “You don’t even know him!” Uh, neither do you young lady. All you know is he’s a prince, plays the snarfblat and has a dog and is currently available. You don’t know his last name, or anything else and you had the nerve to scream “Daddy I love him!” Claiming you don’t care you’re a mermaid as if to say you’d gladly give up your tail just for someone who doesn’t even know you exist?
Rapunzel & Eugene are literally couple goals, so quirky, weird, yet funny, loving and dedicated! ❤️ Marvelous video & idea!

Thank youu ^^ I'm glad! Yes, Disney did great with those two :D
Part 2:
-Belle and Beast.
And she as well sings “There’s no one like him” 🤦🏻♀️
-Cinderella and Charming.
So nice to hear those sweet words
Hmmm absolutely no idea 😂 could be any of the ones from your top 10. I do know for Barbie though - easy, Erica & Dominick!
Do you have a favourite Barbie couple?
@@Meirenyu It's hard, I like them all from the old movies. I really like Clara and Eric from the Nutcracker, but I also like Erica and Dominick
Happy Valentine's Day!
Oh, how much I like this ranking, I don't know I agree or not, who cares? It's adorable!!
Ahah, thank you so much dear ^^
Wow, this is really nice ranking😍😍and I agree with your first place❤️❤️❤️
hi ,the comments for the french barbie songs were not available so i have to write here but the person who sang Shine is the same person who played Genevieve.🤍🤍
YASSSS somebody finally agreed that hercules and meg are so sweet!
Feliz dia de São Valentim!
@@kristinahuchison2511 Good points.
Hello there could you do a Cinderella personal ranking
