I wasn't able to get the rubber seal all the way out but I was able to clean and refill the globe. I'm going to get some caulk to make sure it is secure. This was a gift from my late husband in the early days of our marriage. It about broke my heart when I unpacked it and found a mess of fluid in the Rubbermaid container.

Wow! I did it. Great video. It took a couple of tries to make sure all the air was out. I kept getting a little air bubble at the top. One suggestion, actually two, just for me I put bubble wrap in the sink. I'm a total klutz 😂 also I took a hair dryer and loosened the glue on the music box part so it would pop out faster, i'm also impatient. Thank you so much for putting this out. I have an antiques and collectables store and when I do auctions I sometimes get big lots of items and there's always a globe in it. Now I can fix them with confidence instead of throwing them away. Much love and keep up the fun shows.

Figure, globe, base and music is perfect but liquid drained somehow. Really strange that theres no sign of water damage in the box, etc. Guessing could use your process except that I probably need a fresh stopper? Thanks!
Water can evaporate, so your stopper should be fine. You can buy new stoppers too, but you’ll need to make sure it’s the right size for your snow globe. And you will need to carefully remove your decorations from the old stopper and attach them to the new stopper. All of that can be tricky. I hope this helps!🧶💚

The rubber gasket is flat when out of the globe but dimples in the middle when pushed in. So if I glue something flat to it, it's going to detach. I've tried making a dimpled clay base and glued it in and it works but seems like the glue is not totally secure and ii I remove it to glue the actual figures on, the rubber will flatten and detach. What's the correct way to do this?
Not sure the original liquid was water. We have many globes and moved up north. It was -40 C and the truck was left outside over two nights surprisingly none of the globes broke or cracked. I assumed globe liquid was alcohol or clear glycol.
@@louleslie2042 The original water is normally a mixture of water, an antifreeze and glycerol. It’s easiest to just replace it with water only and that should be a given to not put them in a place that freezes. I mostly just wanted to show how to open up and reclose the snow globes with the cheapest ingredient possible. But everyone can totally add the other stuff if they have it. Thank you for commenting🌱💚
