I'm a huge fan of Gazelle! I have the T4 Plus and the G5 Gazebo and both are awesome. Bought the Gazebo first and on our first night camping in OK, we had the worst storm we've ever experienced. High winds. Torrential rain. Lightning and thunder that sounded just above our heads. At one point we had to run to the truck because we were worried about lightning.
We did not tie out the hub walls, but it was staked. Next morning it was standing tall and none of the walls had collapsed. That convinced us to get the tent too. (Out old tent is a Northface Wawona 6, and we still have it and love it).

@@JC_Chappy Heck yeah one of my favorite Outdoor Gear Purchases. I thought about getting the Gazebo myself.

@@adventureswithcombs since we got the T4Plus, the gazebo isnt as necessary but we still bring it camping just in case. I'd say we use it about 50% of the time.

Seems like every reviewer loves the Gazelle tent except Luke. Im hoping he'll do a second review with a different tent. If you read the comments on that video it's full of people saying how much they love theirs.

The quality control issues go beyond a few strings hanging from seams.
In 2020 I purchased a T3, and 2 (?) months later the door zippers broke (2 of the mesh, and 1 outer). As a nomad, I depend on quality gear. It was under warranty, but I was 2000 miles from a home base. Ardisam does not repair the tents they sell - you have to destroy the tent (make long cuts in the material and send them pics) to get a replacement. Fair enough. But they had no T3s to send. So I ponied up a few more dollars and upgraded to the T4 Overland Ed. That one lasted almost the rest of the 1 year warranty on the original tent. Again, broken zippers - all 4 doors. I'm currently in the replacement for that one. All the door's zippers have broken on it - I've managed to "fix" one outer door's zipper a few times.
IMHO, there's a design flaw - the stress put on the door's zippers by the adjacent hubs is just too great. Also, quality control issues were apparent on each of my tents - like large needle holes in portions not covered by rain fly, not all seams exposed to the elements were sealed, material "bunched up" instead of lying flat when sewn (on corners with doors, this can also contribute to stress on the zips.
Also, IMHO, this is a 1 person + gear tent.

Dang man I'm sorry you had so many issues with yours. Hopefully I don't run into the same stuff.

sounds like this isn't really the tent for you heavy use. i wonder wht tent(s) WOULD hold up to fulltime use?

I’m going on five years on my T4 I love it I’ve only had one failure and that is the center hub at the top of the tent the two nuts that hold the hub together, loosened up in high wind and collapsed the top of the tent, sending the fly, ripping off the sides where the ass looks hook up. So keep an eye on your center hubs and a little nuts that hold the hubs together especially the top two nuts I would suggest a little blue Loctite on the hub nuts. There was no damage to the tent, except the fly that I bought a new fly 75 bucks because mine is green. The orange is a little more expensive I don’t know why. NWR

Right on I will keep that in mind! After 5 years that's not too bad at all. :) Glad you still love yours and I appreciate you watching the video and commenting.

Thank you, much appreciated. 😁😁 Just being honest with my experiences with it. Yeah I do like his content and have been a subscriber for a while just thought that review was a bit nitpicky.

Great review! I've a few questions
    How's the water resistance, rain-wise?
Would there be a failure point wherever the tent poles meet the velcro bathtub floor?
Would the T4 plus (the 2 room one) have better airflow than this tent?

    • @adventureswithcombs
      @adventureswithcombs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Well thank you I really appreciate! I've used the tan multiple times in the rain and I haven't had any water intrusion yet. The bathtub floor is very well attached so far no issues there either. I haven't had any experience with the T4 plus so to be honest I really don't know.

We had two days of downpours and no moisture penetrated. It was also amusing to see the ants not able to penetrate (small things make me happy😊)
I've set it up solo to dry it out. I'm 4' 11" and just had to tippy toe on one end (I had it on a slope).
We put down tarps for under, then interlocking foam inside (4 packs of 4/Harbor Freight, best decision ever), indoor/outdoor rug ($15/Ollie's).
Hubs is 6'4" and stands fully upright. We opted for a full size 24" blowup so we're not struggling to get up.
Also have to be careful stepping in/out (Sasquatch LIVES😂)
Ours was under $230 w code & Cash back.
It's working great for our needs.
I did put two tiny pieces of waterproof tape at the tiny tiny hole at the metal joint.
Looking for the ceiling fan you had in a short you did, but can't find it. The link didn't lead to it. Is there a different link?
Carrying it is def not for hiking. I'm 4'11" carried like a backpack to the campsite few yards from the car so it was fine. I love that we carried our tarps/ground & PVC piping for our awning.
We bought inflatable roof rack off Poshmark and transport in a Toyota Corolla Hatchback.
So that's me (4'11"), hubs 6'4" full size inflatable 24" high air mattress, my duffle, his duffle, small popup table, shoe mat inside, still plenty of room for our needs.
Positioned it w latreen tent not far from the rear exit.
      Thanks for the review!
If you can find it/get this, can you link the USB ceiling fan that was in your short?
