Uummh, old memories come to mind. This was one of my favorite songs back in the 1980s. "Without you, Della, there is no meaning." ;-) A friend's sister had had the LP, and I heard it many times. Wish I could find these songs again, but I can't. No album of Dr. John contains the same songs as this former LP.
It's amazing how many bootleg Dr. John albums have this song listed wrong. I can't find it anywhere else. They all have Della Pt 1, but the song is always Xmas in New Orleans (instrumental).
I'm confessing. I'm the vocalist you hear. It's a long story, but it involves Marshall Seahorn. I haven't heard this in a while, but I'm amazed at how good my pipes sound for 1974! I contacted Mac about 25 years ago and had a long phone conversation telling him all the details on the sessions. He was considering a lawsuit, but never followed up on itl.
Yeah ! I had this album, and I've been searching for this track for years. Thanks so much for sharing it !

@@greghardy8174 It sounds good. Did you sing Xmas in New Orleans too?
@@stevegreen4643 yes, I did
@@greghardy8174 Wow, that's crazy! Was Mac even there? Who wrote this song?
