  • in this tutorial you can see how can you
    1. Create a RASTER elevation model
    2. Elevation Model with Fault line & without fault line
    3. Raster Model Unit Conversion
    4. Image Analysis
    5. 3D DEM

    Hi there. Very interesting video. A question here: what is exactly the "z" data in the spreadsheet at the beginning? Is it elevation of water during a flooding event, measured either on the field or through remote sensing?

    Sir,
    Please clarify doubts from the result obtained.
    1. As per the tutorial you provided we acquired flood level map with (-189) to (90). So actually the minus(-84) value stands for what ?
    2. While I processed the classified flood level ,As per the tutorial the highest value 91is given to flood level five, but the classified flood level five zone is falling on the present reverine & esturine system. As per the present flood inundated scenario most of the flood free zone are affected. Inundation .How can we relate results ?
    3. Mostly flood affected area is falling on the free zone.Then how can we compare then result?

      Hi Jibin,
      You can use "SetNull(Float("idw_cmp"-"dem_bgdv1_m")

    I don't understand a sense of the XYZ data file. The Z value is in meters, but what it is. Value variability c.a. 3-20[m]. It is deep of the flood?

    • @NazmulPeyal

      the datasets of X,Y & Z are defining the location and the flood Water height occured in the area. This data is from past years' analysis. I have forgot to mention this in the video.

    Is it possible to export 3D map from ArcGIS such as ArcScene?
    If it is possible please inform or if it is not possible, how can I export a 3D visualized map in pdf.

      ArcMap is not a very suitable platform for 3D visualizations but you can still do it.

    How to create raster elevation model without the fault line? What is the use of the fault line in flood level calculation?

    • @NazmulPeyal
      @NazmulPeyal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just don't add the fault line where it was added.
      Fault line is like when there are some sort of barrier which disrupt the continuous model. Like if there is a dam, then then model won't be similar without a dam. So we add a fault line there.

    Hi,
    I have doubts regarding interpolating flood levels using IDW. Can we rely on the interpolated values?

    • @NazmulPeyal
      @NazmulPeyal  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interpolation is a mathematical formula where intermediate values are unknown. If all kind of interpolation is applicable to all places, that would be a really good question. And about flood level modeling IDW is definitely a well-practiced and an accepted method.
