Sometimes you will find it isn't black thread or any poop, which means the prawn didn't eat any food. It’s completely safe to eat prawns.

The yellow color thing is it poop tht need to be removed? I noticed not only in the body but also in the head. Need remove from the head? If washed and removed from the head, lots of nice taste will be gone?

The yellow and green part tastes like bile imo, so I remove it. But the brain which is red and white is very sweet and the best part of the prawn.

@@hcmconsulting2057 The poop is the black stuff inside the sack line, which is removed earlier. Sometimes you will find it isn't black, which means the prawn didn't eat recently.

Outer skin is not to be eaten. As you are going to try for the first time, I would recommend to throw it.

My prawns had a black thread on both tummy and back though....and the brain looked too eyky...didn't come out as one :| ...washed it off

you can remove the brain if you don't like it. Some prawns you get black thread both sides. you can remove it. and clean and use it.
