CIG are seriously full of brain dead stupid ideas. They clearly show they don't even think about UI design. They drag the speed indicator to the bottom of the console, and completely eliminate the vector, so now you only really know your speed and have 0 idea what direction you're headed in. Even cars and planes IRL keep this sort of info in front of the pilot at his line of sight, not at the bottom. The new power distribution is another brain dead idea. If you allocate power to say guns, how am I supposed to know whether it is taking power away from shields or engines. The power triangle made it immediately clear the power distribution and tradeoff at 1 glance. CIG is evolving, just backwards, and really fast. Like you don't even need to play test this thing, you can just imagine it in your head and immediately see it's a dumb idea.

Honestly CIG should just allow us to customize MFDs instead of forcing them on us. We're not para-military, we're mercs and well as everyone knows most mercs love to tinker with their HUDs.

Instead of asking why people prefer certain ships of the same class over others for PvE and then bringing those ships to be closer to the fan favourite, they would rather just nerf the ship in question and just sap the fun out of the game. The other solution to a ship being so good at PvE is to improve the enemy AI. All these bigger ships people enjoy using in PvE (Corsair, Constellation series, etc) would be obliterated by any competent human player in PvP. But alas nerf, nerf, nerf away 🙄

Depends on your situation. LTI doesn't mean much. So, for anyone who's invested a decent amount of money, just melt and get whatever is best or new. When that gets nerfed, melt and find something else. Doesn't really matter. The game itself is garbage half the time anyway.
I never knew it had size 4 guns. I just looked at the Tac and that thing looks like it's going to be an absolute monster when it's crewed. 8 size 4s, and 4 size 5s, at the right angle every single gun would be able to fire at the same target. An extra shield is nice too, but losing the second power plant is really going to hurt that thing.
I'll be honest, I was going to get a Corsair with my remaining store credit as well as the S-MAX to do ERTs, but after watching this video I think I will stick to the S-MAX now and just get the Corsair in game. Awesome!
Personally I prefer the clean open view. I also have headtracking (DelanClip) so I don't mind just peaking down real quick. I think an option to toggle the extra two MFDs would be nice just like we can disable the MFD casts. Sometimes I just want to appreciate the view!
I wouldnt bother either if my Tobii would work better with my ultrawide curved monitor. Currently it just annoys me, having to look down with my mouse to just see anything. The clean look is nice, but I want a choice. I want the 2 MFDs.
Hope they don't nerf its agility since its so slow in scm speed. Edit: if ever I modify sl max. I'll probably stick ballistics at 2 remote turrets to save power.

Co-poilt ..Starlaners is a Crew ship, if you fly it solo you fly it as is. i wish i can turn off some MFD on other ships, 4 is to many.. i dont even used more then 1-2 at a time anyways as the poilt.

Same question I have, I love my Taurus and those size 5's running attrition could be very fun seeing the damage size 4's are doing but at the same time I really like the look of the max and if they can fix those mfd's I might seriously consider it

CIG cut those in half on the Drake at the exact same time they push the new ship sale for the Starlancer, the Corsairs direct competitor. Oh, and look the Starlancer just so happens to have 4 pilot controlled size 4's. When I said in concierge chat that this was dirty and deceptive a CIG Moderator deleted the post and warned me not to insult development. When I responded that CIG marketing didn't want cash grab Nerfs pointed out, I was kicked and banned from concierge for 2 hours. Lol. Not that that is a big deal except that CIG is actively attempt to squash ANY conversation about " ship nerfs for cash grabs" on the RSI site. Edit: I also own both ships so this isn't just a Corsair owner whining about a balancing nerf. This is actually a deceptive marketing tactic from CIG.

If you loved the Corsair for the firepower you now switch to the Connie. For Solo players who wants to fight the Starlancer is worse than the corsair or the Connie. Starlancer is much larger but has lthe same shields and less firepower.

So solo players only have two pilot controlled guns on the Corsair now. Unless that was a ptu bug, and it's was patched out in 3.24.3 live two days ago. I believe it's still only two pilot controlled guns now, which was my whole argument.

Couple of important remarks here: npc don't use turrets, you don't have turret operators. I would like to see something more than solo player vs "solo" npcs

I feel like these 4 x S3’s are doing way more damage than other equivalents. I tried a very similar mission in a Scorpius and in no way did it do as much damage as the MISC is here. The speed you took down that 890J with 4 S3’s is ridiculous. They are supposed to be s4 shields yet a poxy arrangement of quad S3’s melted them in seconds. Something seems amiss.

Why should they nerf the Corsair but keep the Connie the same if the nerv was just for the Starlancer? Most persons who had a Corsair will now use a Connie. But not the Starlancer. Starlancer is only for Cargo haulers or multicrew. If you want a Solo Combat ship you use the Corsair or Connie.

The best ship in the universe is the one you like not the best weapons or cargo size. My favorite ship is 400i the best ship in the game, just because i love it. Find what you like and enjoy it. o7

Why nerf it? If the enemy shoots back you will get into trouble very soon. Such a large target with only 1 shield will go down very quickly.
SMAX is now the Loaner for TAC - However I'll be going back to Corsair. SMAX Cockpit View, Radar and MFDs are very poor ruins the experience.

NPCs use turrets, but ships did not return fire, or very little. Server problem most definitely. I was testing solo not Multicrew. o7

Copilot's hands partially cover their MFSs. It's a bad design for a video game where everyone is not running around with eye tracking.

Why should they nerf the Corsair but keep the Connie the same if the nerv was just for the Starlancer?
Most persons who had a Corsair will now use a Connie. But not the Starlancer.
Starlancer is only for Cargo haulers or multicrew. If you want a Solo Combat ship you use the Corsair or Connie.
Why would you not feel like a little child??? Life is serious enough. At least in the game allow yourself to relax and enjoy. The best ship in the universe is the one you like not the best weapons or cargo size.
My favorite ship is 400i the best ship in the game, just because i love it. Find what you like and enjoy it. o7
