Can't wait for the ion rework. The only problem with the ion charge mechanic was that you could not hold down left click, but if they revers it, It's even better
People who winge about the Ares being a light fighter seal clubber just suck at dog fighting, seriously it's an elephant with a artillery piece attached to it. Iv downed more Ares in light fighters than I can count. Only an issue if I'm in a larger ship like another heavy fighter or a Connie ect.
@@sorincaladera936 true, its role is to turn off shields and keep them off. But a heavy Distortion ship would be interesting, once distortion is useful.
I got and held onto the inferno post its launch nerf as I loved its design and handling even if its nerfs were rough (never got to experience it back in its hay day). Glad to see it’s finally getting another buff to bring it back to something more viable.
Guardian with attritions clocks in at 2700DPS. So only a slight bit worse than the Inferno. But inferno is a bit more maneuverable and has 2x s2 shields. But as you can see in video, it required 1500 rounds to take down just 2 terrapins. So you would have to restock after every couple missions. I have an inferno that was cheap back when it was concept. It has been reduced to a shadow of what it once was. I am deciding if I want to get rid of it and get the Guardian. I hate ships without interiors so that is a major trading point in my mind.
Yogi stated earlier today that they’re getting rid of the charge shot but that will be after 4.0 releases. So hopefully they get back to a good place. It’s a tough balancing act to get the Ares to be good at what they’re meant to do (be used in strike formation in a fleet to soften up capital ship defences) without also making them into the only fighter you need to effectively dog fight every other fighter in the game.
The ammo counter and heat meter are in the WORST possible locations; did an intern design that shit? The ammo counter/heat bar should absolutely be practically at the center of the screen, where my EYES are looking at the target.
Just want to see a cool off and not a forced reload. If I shoot 100 rounds and wait for a bit. I should be able to shoot 250 rounds not 150. Edit: Looks like they fixed it... cool beans.
I melted my ION after it kept getting beatin (like a redheaded stepchild) with shitty reworks and "nerf". I don't think I'll get another Ares any time soon... unless I fulfil my CCU chains and get bored.
I'm the same way but only in star citizen can I see people say "I'm bored so I'm going to play this money game on the website" I too melted my ion multiple times here's to hoping it's good!
Inferno is not the top. F8C with deadbolts has 400 more DPS and both ships do the same total DMG with all rounds hitting their target. But the spread on the inferno is 50% more than deadbolts so you will definitely miss more shots.
I read the comment about the Ion, but I’m not sure if they revert it to .23. I’d like it, but they could also run it on a slower rpm. Hmmm… can’t wait cause it’s so terrible rn, it made me quit playing the game for 5 months straight XDD
I think the amount of rounds all ballistic weapons carry is way to low to justify using them over energy weapon in anything other than competitive PvP.
Balanced for their intended role? As it is the Ion can't even break an 890 shield its DPS is so low. The exact class of ship it supposed to fight. Its a Size 7 gun it should be very bad to get hit by it. It ridiculous that light fighters are able to even scratch anything above a medium freighters but we are all fine with F7s and Arrows soloing ERTs. But the dedicated big ship hunter has to be utterly useless to keep the smooth brained Gladius jocks from pissing their diapers and throwing a tantrum when they get smoked going head on with one.
@@NatCr3w just play the game and adapt, you have no input with rebalancing, its always welcome, needed and ever changing. Lighten up and forget about rebalancing, its happeneng whether it bothers you or not.

This has been my favourite ship since the release of it from design to sound to playstyle so im glad its back to beeing good
It’s about DAMN TIME!
Thanks for testing and sharing!

They need to up the dmg too for ion as well

@piranhax6466 or make it distortion
@@o0neillwhy? Its not a security ship, its a fleet combat ship

Back in business
Nice ending of the mission
Thanks for clutch info, I was boutta buy the mirai Guardian, but now I think I'll buy this since the DPS isnt even comparable between the two.
Buy it in game. Only 4.5 mil. Guardian is new and you can melt it later if you don't like it. o7

@@Power5attritions aren’t the way unless you pve since the guardian isn’t as agile to allow you to land those shots.
In PvE with attritions on my guardian I am able to land those shots. Not done enough testing yet to determine TTK though.
By far the best asymmetrical design in the game
Id love to get my ion back but they keep messing up the ares'
Let's hope they do the Ion justice!
they are

All hail inferno
Id be happy if they gave 1000 more ammo
Just when I bought a guardian lmao...
Give inferno a bed and I'll never leave it.

This!
Yeah, I agree but at least we have it.
The Terripin currently has the highest ship HP in the game. Nothing even comes close except the Polaris.
Wrong, The Constellation Andromeda has 180,644hp the Terrapin has 168,201hp
It is the 6th highest
Now if only they'd fix the damned Corsair!

Our baby is back pilots!
see now it playing like that makes me want to get it but how it is now i did not but it during the event they had
Not being able to see your reticle to shoot your target because of the sparks flying, is a problem.
How's the rearm cost?
About 6k max
Amazing! I am so happy they buff them this ships are worth like 250 pledge to just suck
This ships were always capital killers but they nerf them once people use them and starter to kill the smaller ships like nothing,

The Inferno is one of thpse ships that cannot be balanced, it will always be either too op or too weak.
1:48 look at dis, then suddenly two commercials. You dirty mofo
Sorry, I don't put ads in manually, TH-cam does that. o7
Yeah good luck paying for the ammo
Would take any Vanguard or Cutlass over that useless ship.
Yeah, buy only in game.
You should thank CIG for making these ships balance with there intended role, not some OP bounty toy for idiots......man up
