I'm a casual track and field enjoyer, so i have a question: Do AAU phenoms in track and field translate over to collegiate and professional success consistently?

      Some do and some don’t

Football trivia: Adrian Peterson won the Jr. Olympics 100 meters defeating Jamaal Charles. Both became successful NFL running backs.

The wings anchor should have hang behind for a final kick at the end.

Who ever was lining them up for exchanges 3 and 4 did a horrible job. Whoevers leading at the 200 always gets the inside lane for the exchange.

This is what happens when you let runners pass you on the inside

The lead leg for the winners ran out of his lane. Were they DQ'd?

Only the first leg and a half are run in lanes in the 4x400. The anchors can run in any lane.

The coaches of the first 2 teams really need to teach their runners to shut down the inside lane. Both teams were exchanging leads at will; totally unacceptable.

Hi I’m one of the coaches for the Wings who took home silver. What’s so unacceptable??? These are youth athletes not pros or collegiates. And mistakes happen at all levels. You aren’t in our team meetings you don’t know what’s been discussed. Our boys ran their hearts out and that’s all we can ask for 🪽

@@MJPTV.....Apparently, in your team meetings you aren't discussing the importance on maintaining your position in the lane; that's track 101. If a runner is freely giving up the inside lane to their competitor, that's something that should be addressed immediately. It's NOT a collegiate/pro thing, it's a matter of being taught the most efficient way to run a race. Like I said, that is track 101.

@@Bronxxxnyc you’re clearly missing my point or didn’t comprehend my statement. Again you aren’t in our team meetings we reviewed positioning in the lane while avoiding the rail. Our runner just made a simple mistake. That’s just the fine margins between winning and losing. We won the 4x4 last year running 3:09 we got 2nd this year running 3:11. Our club has been around since 1977 and has a legacy of excellence. So please don’t disrespect our coaches or the H-Town Hurricanes for errors made in the heat of battle.

One runner inside, maybe, 2 runners overtaking on the inside lane against the same team, tsk tsk.
