    Hi again, Steve, just going through your old videos and loving every one of them, especially the Dollar Store ones. I'm getting back into my angler's kayak lately and, being the kind of guy who loves to DIY, your creative solutions aren't just valuable, they're entertaining, as well! Thanks, man.

    Thanks for the idea! I stopped at Dollar Tree and pickup one up. They only had 60" lengths, but I'll be using it on my solo canoe and I think that length might be perfect. Might get a few more for my rods. 🙂

    I used to use 30 pound braided line for a leash.

    Lol I discovered that last week for my paddle, for my Rod I use 3mm para cord with a push button lace brake to maintain tightness at the handle butt. Tight lines !

    I would have never come up with that idea. Thank you for sharing.

      It can cost a fortune if you let it get away!

    Wow, great idea. Easy solution. The salt eats up every clip I put on my yak though. lol

    If you don’t have that bar , how would you suggest clipping it securely? Love the hack by the way

      Look for a handle or even your seat and it should work.

      These things die all the time... at least this brings some back to life.

    Love many of your hacks but not a fan of this one- at least for us salt water fisherman. I've been down this road with those nickel plated snaps. They just don't seem to last (at least not for me). I get about 2 months out of them and that's it.

    Never liked the bungee version

    How long of a leash is that? Good tip btw

    The only issue I can see with it is that the clip will eventually seize up from the rust

    • @KayakhacksFishing
      @KayakhacksFishing  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are not stainless. Of course, the cheapest leash is just a piece of paracord or other thin rope :-)

    Just beginning kayak fishing. Could you recommend an inexpensive paddle for a 65 yr old retired guy?

    • @KayakhacksFishing
      @KayakhacksFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      John - that is not a simple question to answer. Please look at this link to gain insight on determining what is best for you. www.aquabound.com/kayak-paddle-sizing-guide
      You will love kayak fishing! I was a canoe guy until 4 years ago and will never go back!

    And you might be able to use it if you tip over. Maybe put your foot in the handle of the dog leash and push yourself up and back into your kayak. I'm going to give it a try thank you for the idea
