The sea oats& sand dunes did exactly what was supposed to be done preserve the beach .Protect the sea walls from collapsing and the private property behind the sea walls .There are rocks at the base of some seawalls to help prevent errosion.Yet the sea oats & sand Dunes did the job ..I planted sea oats on& along the sides of the sandunes on 20th Ave ,30 years ago .I'm glad it served many purposes, from habitat to estedicts to preserving the beach from washing out.Elena in 85 took down alot of sea walls washed out the beach.
Thats indian shores .This is Indian Rocks beach sand dunes sea oats planted 30 years ago .There was extra sand put on Indian Rocks beach as I reacall 5 years ago or more recent years may have helped keep the beach intact @craigandpolly6060
Thank you for doing this. I have a place near 25th Ave and I haven't been able to get a good look at the property. New dunes are gone, and beach access walkways are wrecked! But it sounds like everyone is ok.
I went here in June for vacation I also visited Clearwater and they were the best places ever sad to see it get hit and about to get hit. I love Indian Rocks Beach. ✌️🥺❤️
Amazing video footage. Our family had a unit in the 9th Street highrise shown. The dunes are decimated and now the beach is level with the sea wall. I am afraid for what could come from Milton.
Milton hit South of IRB, so the beach looks about the same as in this video still; some residents have began to push the sand from their pools, decks, parking lots back onto the beach.
Thanks for this video. Any chance you can go a little further south on Gulf all the way to Caddy’s? We’ll be staying at Sun and Fun in the middle of the Narrows on 10/12 with 25 people. THANK YOU!
We (from NY) went to Fort Myers a few years ago; loved the area and laid back vibe. It was wiped out later that year. Then, we went to Indian Shores/IRB twice in the last year; we love the area and laid back vibe. I'm very worried that Milton is going to do the same thing as what happened to Fort Myers. I hope not.
Milton did a lot less damage. Most of the flooding was from Helene. Drove on IRB yesterday and most stores appeared open except JD's and SLYCE and an ice cream shop. It's coming back (still some debris but it's being cleaned up). Too bad many people lost their belongings though. This video makes IRB look good, even despite all the debris and sand.
@@FloridaDCSVideos Yes, it definitely looks like the storms were a big headache for the area but it's certainly still there. I'm happy to hear that - I'm still feeling the loss of Fort Myers Beach and for all whom called that home and we had only been there twice.
I personally know someone whose house completely flooded on Indian Rocks beach. They lost everything. It'll take at least two months to assess the damage on the house itself. Everything inside was lost.
Wouldn't it be great if the beach front property was for assisted living homes for the retired and elderly ? That's the way we should treat people in this country and around the world
I just stayed at a very small, modest, family-owned hotel in the area. You don't know wtf you're talking about. I imagine it comes from a place of jealousy and inadequacy because you're a poor lzr.
I love Indian Rocks Beach .
I love Indian Rocks so much.. so many great family memories there! I can’t wait to make more ❤

The newly installed dunes, all along in the indian shores protected nothing. $30 million project wasted.

You’ll love it even if it’s damaged I went there in June it’s perfect best place on earth and forever holds my heart.
be careful of the guy who lives at 40 Gulf Blvd Belleair Shore, he likes to kick people off the beach and carries a gun.

My family stays at the second unit above 8th Ave every year. I hope you will update after Milton. We have years of memories here.

With some hotels , shops and restaurants for their families and friends to visit
Seen the Joogsquad house
The dunes along Indian Shores protected nothing they blew away like powdered sugar
I live in seminole , just over the bridge to get to this beach.. to be honest, I am really upset about this.. sucks
