- This video shows the process to reprogram the Jeep Liberty CRD Diesel Bosch EDC16 ECU. To do this you must have the vehicle PIN, SKIM, and a key.
i have a 2006 and im about too do this dose it matter what plug in on the ecm i take off first?
Wondering if u know. My ecm has all the same numbers except last letters are BA. I found a replacement but last letters are AA would this work
Can u explain how u can do it remotly. And the chrysler dealer ship needs me to tow in my jeep to do it. Also would it pay for me to send it to u. I live in regina saskatchewan canada
Do you any one that repairs ecu I have programming in it no available any more, I do have DRB 111, but will not read ecm, it quit on me 2005 jeep liberty car 2.8
Video was very helpful, I have one 2006 CRD that had a problem and we changed the ECU and now the injectors aren't calibrated, I don't have that scanner, there is another way that I can do this? , maybe send it to someone that can do the job? Can it be done that way?
jose vila the ECU injector codes can be programmed outside of the vehicle by the same method I showed in this video. I am not aware of who else would have the tools to program this besides myself. But in theory any dealership with a drbiii should be able to do the same programming.

2004 Durango was the first truck that came with the new CAN.
and the last vehicle that used the DRBIII for diagnostics was just the minivan caravan/town & country, in 2007.
and in 2008 the Chrysler crossfire international, beyond 2009 the DRBIII is useless.
Very informative video. COrobotchicken, I have an '05 CRD Liberty that is dead, the ECU died. I'm unable to locate a replacement and the local Jeep dealer won't program (even for a fee). Do you have a source for the ECU and programming?

If I have a new ECU I'm gonna need new skim and new key?
jose vila no. A new or new used ECU can be reprogrammed to an existing SKIM and keys.

I am getting a ecu programming error. Says ecm is programmed for a Manuel transmission and mine is auto 4x4. The vehicle starts and runs but it sometimes has little or no response from throttle. Can you reprogram my ecm for me? Tried to find your email but could not. Thank you
I cannot do that programming, are you getting a p0610 “vehicle options error”?

@@joeshreeman8640 p0610 can be turned off by deleted that code from the DTC table. However when that code is set it will not affect drive ability. I think your issues are unrelated to the code.
@@IcarusOffroad the only other code I'm getting is egr excessive flow. There was a MAF "A" circuit performance code but after I cleared it didnt come back

peter johansen head over to the LostJeeps crd tech forum and look for the DIY tuning thread. In there you will find the OEM files before they were modified.

@@IcarusOffroad Wow, great will try that tomorrow, guess it's the one towards the bottom saying" did you loose your original tuning map" ? Hope it will flash on to the ECM because all my original info including VIN is all gone? just says Bosch and some numbers in it place on the right side where the VIN and other info resided!
@@IcarusOffroad Anyway tried flashing the ecm this morning with the original mapping data as we talked about last night using the MPPS v13 but getting the same error messages due to not "following routine" means first extract/read existing files and then flash new files! The MPPS program attempts to flash but stops after a few seconds saying "can't communicate with ECM" makes sense because the original programming is non existing. Tried with two differents ECM's same results, they both initially had good response and original map software loaded on them! Kind of at the end of my rope here buddy! Do you or anybody you know have the gadgets and ability to do this for me?
Originally I had wanted to simply install a blank in the EGR system whick I did and the flash the ECM with EGR delete mapping. Now, weeks later I'm up the creek without a paddle or my beloved Liberty CRD!
A diesel engine cannot be destroyed by being "under fueled". Just sayin'.
