- This video is the second part of ABS Module test and repair. In part 1 I explained how to test the ABS circuit, board and explained the ABS Module wiring and internal structure. I also explained how to test the ABS Module for Valve relay error fault or for ABS Motor Electrical fault.
But in this video I will go further to explain how to test the MOSFETs and Solenoid valves inside the ABS Module. I also explain the difference between ABS and ESP/TCS in terms of internal structure and how to know the normal value for the components during the test.
Part 1 of this video can be found in my channel or using the link below:

Los dos videos mas interesantes que existen para conocer y reparar el módulo de ABS. Muchas gracias por compartirlos
Hi my friend. Thanks for your comment. I’m very happy to hear it
I think these 2 videos go a long way to explaining the error codes in BMWs which a mechanic is never going to string together with an electronic fault. And just removing and replacing the large connector is a WORK AROUND which if it works is destined to fail again. So well done .
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you liked the video.
That was totally amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos.

I meet 2 times problems with my car
1 st one the module stoped because the vacuum pump not working but motor working properly
I changed already abs unit
2nd one after time too have a problem get the oil from pump to module
Now I want to repair the old pump but the pins on not released this pins on motor head inside the pump
Hi there, I didn’t quite get the question, is there any fault code right now?
If brake fluid is not coming into ABS module, this is not the ABS motor fault, you must check the master cylinder.
Hi, I'm getting this code. Everything I checked with your vids is OK. mosfet Ok. C1043: Master cylinder cut solenoid valve circuit
No.1 failure
May I ask your can make and model?
@@AutomotiveDiagnosis Yes! Suzuki Grand Vitara Year 2012. Where are the transistors for the solenoids? The two mosfets seem to be Ok, following your indications. Excellent video, great explanation in this excellent course on how does a ABS module works and I can relate it to how intermittent ABS should be worked and diagnosed. Thank you. What did you use to close it back and water proof it.
Glad you enjoyed it! I usually clean up the old seal and apply new black silicone.

Thank you very much, this is great explanation, do you have any video for how to check the IC5895-5220C if there's IC fault, how to check it? and how to scan it directly the ABS module in bench (pinout connection to OBD scantool). can you share the diagram for Ford Fiesta 2011-2014. again, thank you very much!
Hi there, we don’t have any videos for inspecting that IC, but I will try to get one.
Thank you for identifying the electrical components. Where is a good source for these components and tech sheets besides Google?
Wiring diagram is better than any other source.
Penjelasan yang mudah dipahami. Saya ingin bertanya pada anda, bagaimana cara memeriksa kode kesalahan u3000 pada modul abs ford fiesta? Mohon dijawab, terima kasih.
Hi, for this code you need to check the power and ground on ABS Module and also CAN-BUS terminals.

Hi there, it’s normally part of the car’s wiring diagram. Many websites offer the diagrams but it’s not normally for free. We have uploaded some of our diagrams for free on our online store on our channel.
Hello. Don't be tired. Explain to me how to fix one of the ABS output lines. Thank you.

Thanks a lot. I'm glad you liked it.
Excellent video. What about when a component is faulty. I have an abs error code indicating a wheel speed sensor problem but everything is fine. The problem is probably within the abs module. The question is which faulty component of the module will keep the brakes locked on one side only when the abs light is lit and the brake pedal not depressed?
Hi there, that problem could be coming from the ABS valves, but you need to check the brake caliper as well, sometimes brake piston or sliding pin is sticky.
Can the ABS module can be damaged if the wire harness cause a short because of a shafted wire connecting to the ground? Or the module is protected somehow in these situations.
Super helpful!👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you think so!
Very helpfull video !!
Glad it was helpful!
Great job on the videos👍🏻! Curious why the diode in the mosfet that bypasses the gate doesn’t keep the load on continuously? If the source is + and the diode is forward biased and it goes to the drain, wouldn’t the current flow through the diode and to the load continuously?
@AutomotiveDiagnosis thank you for the video. I checked everything you checked and all tests were good. The original fault code was “C2200 Antilock Brake Module Internal”. I would guess the trouble will still be there if I just reassemble… my car is a 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Same C2200 code here on a 2012 JK. All tests as per these videos are good. Code still remains. You didn't find a solution?
I as well have a 15 with c2200 did you ever pinpoint the faulty component?
@@buckknazty I am not SURE yet. My plan is to replace the ABS control module, but for whatever reason, they are very hard to find and far too expensive when I do find them. There are online sellers who have them for less than $200, but they’re out of stock and have been for awhile. My Jeep still drives fine, just locks up at FULL brake. So, I’m being patient, waiting for the ABS control module to start being manufactured again or for everyone else to replace theirs and they not be so in demand! LOL. BUT, I’m fairly certain replacing that ABS control module will fix these issues, and it’s an easy replacement, once I have the part…
This was a great video. I checked the motor mosfet (mine is a PN0404 for a jeep) and have an OL reading between the gate and the drain. Should I assume the mosfet is bad? thanks again for the video and for any help you can provide.
This is very cool! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Glad you liked it and thanks a lot for your comment.
@Automotive Diagnosis: Cars Repair &Training Guides if I can suggest one thing to make your awesome video more awesome: show how to check integrated circuits. I have an MK60 module off of a 2002 BMW 325i, got the trifecta lights on my dashboard. Turns out I have a bad IC (9369.1D).
@Automotive Diagnosis: Cars Repair &Training Guides in case anyone is curious, the error code I get is 5DF5: ABS-DSC internal fault, control unit.
@@juvehe Hi there, Thanks a lot for your comment and sharing your experience. I explained more on the first part of this video but as you said there is more way to go and hopefully I can make another video too.
@@juvehe Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.
hello what an explanatory video are you giving me the courage to do it too, I tell you that I have a 2008 jeep grand cherokee with a similar module I have the DTC C2200 the only thing I have seen with the scanner is that the valve feed oscillates between 5 and 10 volts before the DTC appears when starting the vehicle and exceeding it of 15 miles the lights come on and in the scanner the valve feed is It's still at 5 volts, do you think I could fix it if I open it? 🤔
Hi there, thanks for your comment. This code is due to an internal failure on ABS Module, Sometimes it could be something we can find by checking all connections in the ABS module, but sometimes is coming from the main microprocessor which is hard to repair. So basically there could be different possible causes for each different case, and we can only be sure after inspecting the module carefully and thoroughly.

🙏🙏🙏
Okay dude, you gotta tell me, where did you find these diagrams. It’s exactly what I was looking for!
Edit: thank you for this wonderful video btw
Hi there, thanks for watching the video, there are different ways we can find the wiring diagrams, Some manufacturers have designed the OEM scan tool with wiring diagrams (KIA, Hyundai, SsangYong etc.) so if you have those scan tools, you have the diagrams too. Also, in addition to the manufacturers technical websites, some other private companies offer the wiring diagrams and workshop manuals too.
@@AutomotiveDiagnosis that’s fantastic, I’ve been really struggling to find the wiring diagram of my 04 Kodiak Topkick. I may have to look into some of those private companies or scan tools you mentioned. I saved the ones from your description and I can’t tell you how much it helped.
Thanks again!
@@drv8086 I'm glad it was helpful. I will check for that wiring diagram as well and will keep you posted here if I find any.
@@AutomotiveDiagnosisThank you so much, if you do happen to find anything it would be very much appreciated. I’m still having trouble diagnosing exactly what’s gone wrong. A diagram such as what you have outlining the pin out would be wonderful!
Great video.
Question: 2009 Ford Escape with very low brake pedal.
No codes or lights. Replaced master cylinder, all shoes & pads good.
Had shop bleed ABS module with scanner. No change, still very low pedal.
Is ABS module causing this?
Thx
I don't think that's ABS fault, if it is, it shows itself when you do the bleeding. Pedal is low, but how you feel the pedal?
The low pedal position could be the end of the rod connected to brake pedal. Most Fords have an adjustable screw on end. I think it is a 7mm and you can lengthen it to cause pedal to react quicker.
Thank you sooo so much for this comprehensive guide, it is by far the best!
I have the code C056D-00 Electronic Module
Checked all wiring, fuses, grounds. Took only the abs module out, finally got it opened yesterday, will follow your video to troubleshoot transistors, rectifiers, power source and solder points. Any other advice for that code?
Hi there, thanks for watching this video. Everything is pretty much explained in this video. You may also watch part 1 of this video.

Thank your explanation, I got the problem the resistance are different 2 ohms between blue, 9 ohm and 8.8ohm this acceptable? ,

I have changed everything but not the abs because there's no abs or any light in shown im my dashboard,

Hi, i have a 2012 chevy equinox with ABS, brake and stability track lights on at same time, do you think the ABS module can be repaired?
You must check the fault codes first, sometimes it’s not a very serious issue
nice video but at the end can it be repaired fixing soldering?
Of course it can, if there is any broken solder, it could be the source of the problem. But as I said, that’s not the only possible cause, there are many other causes that are explained in the video.
Eu sou do Brasil, muito sua boa explicação!! Estou com problemas em um abs do ford FUSION!! Vc poderia me ajudar?
Hi my friend, I try to do my best, what is the problem with your ABS?
@@AutomotiveDiagnosis ele não comunica com scanner
Quero um treinamento guiado com você !
@@geodirecoes2778 When there is no communication, it could be power supply, ground or CAN-Bus problem. It's better to start from Power supply on ABS module, normally there are 2~3 power supply, one is for ABS motor, one is for ABS valves and the last one is for ABS control module, the last one is very important for the communication. If power is okay, find the pins for ground and inspect them. ABS connector also must be carefully checked for any dirt, moisture or looseness.

Great instructional videos on ABS module operation and diagnosis. My question is, if you cut the plastic cover off then how do you ever re-use the module if it tests good? Seems like this is destructive testing? Good to know if you're just interested to see where your old module failed but not useful for actual repair correct?
Hi there, of course we seal the cover back on, unless what’s the whole point of testing the unit? So, we must be very precise when removing the cover, then we seal it back on.
Best ever
Thanks
