    • @Dark_Voice
      @Dark_Voice 6 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      You have to take it as PROs playing this rally. They can go like this pretty much endlessly. If Monfils didnt try to win the point he might have make it much longer but he tried to win and did mistake because that takes much more skill. But because he placed his shot to the middle right for his opponent he didnt manage to recover. This rally is really bad.

    The first 50 or so strokes until the two actually started hitting with authority were exemplary pushing, not because of the long rally itself, but because there were no attempts to draw a weak reply or a forced error, or hit an outright winner. Pushing = feeding passive balls when not being on the defensive (hence, having the opportunity to attack).

We get on the court to win no to pleasure your tennis desires. If any tactic works then keep it as long as is efficient for you.
      Simon is the orchestral maestro of the tour, his vision, tactical sense, use of opponent's pace and accuracy are incredibly high.

    When the ball comes faster, one or two strokes in a row, the point is done. Both are not good enough to hold a difficult level over more than a few shots. Nadal and Djoko had a high class rally where every shot was great and it was 54 strokes rally 2013 US open

  • @commonsense.tennis

    You may complain about quality but may be that's more strategy. Monfils is extremely fit and agile and even he struggled to recover from that rally. Simon absorbed all the big shots, sucked everything out of him before giving it back and winning it. Simon also won this match it in five sets 6-4, 6-4, 4-6, 1-6, 8-6
