    Larry Dimarzio, please never stop making these type of videos. I love watching them.
    Would love to see some more "up-close" playing footage from Bumblefoot or Richie Kotzen.
    Keep making quality pickups & videos Larry, you're one the Kings.
    God Bless!

    My brother made an electric guitar in the 1990's by hand. It was 24 fret and had DiMarzio pickups and a Floyd Rose bridge. My brother was an amazing guy and could make alll sorts, R.I.P. Nigel.

      I love you Mister Dimarzio. I own around 2 dozen guitars and almost everyone is outfitted with Dimarzios. I just wish that you would make a more powerful neck pickup.
      I've been using Tone Zone's in the neck forward facing like in the bridge. If you could build them like that with a little bass rolled off it would be perfect!

    • @dthspll0mga
      @dthspll0mga 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      billhillard Why not try a capacitor in line with the pickup to remove a little bass? Did that to my Tone Zone and it's perfect.

    Ya know, about 30 years ago I saw the movie named "Crossroads" where Steve Vai was "cutting heads" in hell playing for the soul of Ralph Machio and his bluesman companion, and when I heard him play Eugenes Bag of Tricks (newclassical adaptation of Paganini's 5th Caprice) I immediately knew I had to play guitar, and I have ever since. Ironically, I was just searching for some new shred pups that have tight low-end response, balanced but pronounced mids, and articulate highs. I had never heard of the Dark Matter 2 PUPs, but I watched another comparison video of 5 different pups that weren't revealed until the end of the video. I took notes and discovered I liked the DM2s the most. Unbeknownst to me, I search them and they're Steve Vai's signature Dimarzio's lol. I'm not particularly fond of a lot of his music as I am into the heavier stuff. However, I gotta say that Mr. Vai has had the most tonal influence on my particular tone of all my guitarists who've influenced my tone.

  • @mattfromcleveland
    @mattfromcleveland 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mr. Vai you are the man, modern primitive is refreshing. I'll always remember the show I went to with my Dad back in 08 I think it was, at the Cleveland House of Blues. Eric Sardinas was one hell of an opening act as well.

    Tuning the guitar to where all the open strings are 5 notes apart, lengthens the range of the possible fervent dual & accorded notes beneficially. With only small adjustments in fingerings and little loss in conventual extended accorded notes, while opening more dynamic range with easier fingerings. With all the opens 5 notes apart it also makes it easier to remember & register where you are when playing fast, and extends the range of known bar cord finger patterns to the higher notes and chords. It also helps to improve thinking while playing.

    • @jeffreycollins7297
      @jeffreycollins7297 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did that when I made a guitar that had 16 notes per octave, it was the only note it had in common with 12 tet. Everything was tuned in minor 5th's which does not sound good all together when strung up.
