+David Robitaille (robitaill3) Back when these folks were young, you took care of things so that they last. Nowadays everything is dispsable, people only drive a car for 5 years, not doing maintainence properly, and pawning it off on some sucker. Back in the day, you drove a car until it wouldn't drive no more, but you kept it nice so it would make it that way and not suffer and look like crap.
Car quality has reduced also. This is a solid, well built vehicle that doesn't have issues that many newer cars have with over powered and over stressed components.
I have an '04 Mercury Grand Marquis Ultimate Edition. Bought it brand new. Just had a full Magna Flow dual exhaust stystem installed. It sounds great....a luxury hot rod !
@Tyler 324 Well, Just because your car doesn't have the problem doesn't mean they all are the same, Besides, I prefer the Mercury, For luxury, If I ever find a decent marauder I'd love to drive one of those.
this engine, if its the 4.6 puts out 235 HP , it should have the full dual exaust which makes this engine both powerful and very fuel efficient , the sad part about this car is that ford stopped building these beautiful safe well built cars
My great-uncle had the 2007 Ford Crown Victoria with the leather package. He was a very wise, smart, rich man who I look up to and that’s what made me get one of these.
Don't even think of selling it. You will regret it as you get older. She's a beautiful automobile. I have the same exact wheels on my 2005 grand marquis LS. I like your steering wheel too.
Amazing! Looks like a new car. I love the Grand Marquis. They are comfortable, powerful, safe, reliable. PERFECTION. I wish to have one, but those were not sold in my country so I can't get a used one.
A 03 merc is going to be my next car, it has everything i want and need in a newer car, my current car is a 96 camry, its a little small but pretty roomy
Is this a good choice for a first car? I want something that’s quiet, smooth, safe, spacious, reliable and that has a little bit of a luxury flair to it.
Alan_Akbar smaller cars may be safer if you hit a stationary object, but if you get into a head on collision with another vehicle (especially one that’s bigger) it doesn’t fair as well
What a classic, and it has been beautifully maintained. We had a couple of Grand Marquis' when I was growing up and they were great cars. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
I have a 2003 Grand Marquis LSE. It has dual exhaust, floor shifter, and bucket seats. When the air ride started to go bad I got rid of it and converted to coils. It's not a Marauder, but its far from a slouch either. It handles well for a big car. The car is such a joy to drive, especially on long trips. I love these cars too. A lot of people don't understand or appreciate what they are about.
Gorgeous car :)I test drove a 2010 Grand Marquis last year and it was so smooth. It rides like a cloud, the Modular V8 sounds amazing plus comfy bench seats are boss..and white walls and chrome! A boss car.
To bad the police didn't get a hold of it instead of it being just sport it would be "super sport" it's crazy what just 10 more hp can do to a heavy car like that I'm saying this cuz I own a 03 cvpi that puts out 250horses bone stock only
I love these cars! We test drove an 08 Crown Vic and the ride was fantastic, plus the seats were some of the most comfortable and relaxing I believe I've ever sat in. Great car!
Nice, and very roomy car. For those that still have them, they should be feel very very very proud of having Grand Marquis. A very comfortable ride indeed. :D
***** I didn't, my dad did. He was in traffic and he spilled water on his shirt, he looked down for 1 second, when he looked up he was in somebody's bumper
That is one awesome ride there Kyle. I love these full size RWD sedans. My mom's car does the same things this does at night when you unlock it with the keyless entry. You and your grandpa did some awesome work adding the chrome pieces to it. You always do a fantastic job on your videos, and everyone is worth my time watching them. Keep up the excellent work my friend.
Kyle, which would you recommend a Grand Marquis or a Town Car? I am going to buy either one but I am torn between the two. I have no clue which to go with, I like the Town Car a lot but its kinda big but I think the Grand Marquis looks better. Which drives and rides better? I would really appreciate your answer!
I almost bought one but ended up buying a 07 Honda Accord with 91k miles for $3000 which seemed like a sweet deal at first. So far I've spent $1800 in repairs so far, it leaks on the inside when it rain in the back seat, the trunk won't stay up unless you hold it, rear passenger door won't open from the inside, gives of this burning smell when I occasionally floor it (i suspect either an oil leak or the clutch is wearing out thanks to the previous owner) and is so boring to drive now I'm trying to sell that and I'm definitely getting one of these or if I can find a Pontiac Bonneville that's in decent shape.
Nice ride Kyle I've been a big fan of these cars for along time. I'm 24 years old and I own a white 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis GS edition with baige leather interior. It currently just has under 66k miles on it. I've been driving the Marquis since I was 17 and they are indeed nice cars. I almost bought a 2004 edition looked almost like this one a GS also but I settled for a 1999 due to the cost difference between the 2. Keep up the good work man.
I Used To Ride On One Of These as a Limousine After I went to the Airport and fly a United Airlines Plane from Tampa, FL to Chicago, IL in 2011 or 2012 for a Visit for my family.
I had one like this which should've kept instead of trading for a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. My car was same year as this one. Even though now I have a 2006 Lincoln Town Car I still miss my Mercury Grand Marquis.
We rented one of these in '04 and went from Woodbridge, VA down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and later Miami. Best ride ever, my dad's '03 Town Car also has a heck of a ride. He's just really upset that they're going to stop making these in 2011. He uses it for a limo business he has, but doesn't know which car is going to replace it. I think they'll go back to the DTS, but I'm not sure.
Its amazing how many little things Ford has trimmed away from the Grand Marquis over the years. Very nice touch/idea with the strip on the door panels. Surprised Ford didn't do that. Still a great looking Grand Marquis!
My 1997 Grand Marquis 4.6L is at 281HP , first year for this motor . Runs great and it is a 22 year old American car! Drive it every day and blow the doors of the cheap plastic Toyotas ,Hondas Ect ect.
I recently bought a grand marquis. One side tape makes like a muffle noise. Any idea what it is? Maybe someone setted up the radio or the radio problem?
There was a recall on the Intakes. Mine went at 130.000 k so I don't feel bad costs 700.00 bucks. One coil went bad at about 75.000k and replaced the fuel pump at 90.000k. 600.00 bucks. Other than that just normal wear and tear, 2nd set of Michelin tires, brakes, and 1 alternator, oil changes every 4k synthetic per manufacture.
I have a 95 marquis and it’s almost exactly the same. Only difference is exterior styling and no CD player in the stereo. Apart from that, it’s the same car almost a decade later
Faraz Danish I think Americans got complacent, and weren’t looking while the politicians sold out our country to other countries. Cars, parts, meds, even tomato’s! (See prime video “Red Gold”! Great documentary teaching the progression of just how we lost so much of the greatness of our products, factories, JOBS, etc. Vote right and buy American made. We’ll get back there if we want to. Otherwise, the alternative will be far worse than can be imagined. Look how many ppl think it’s cool to sell millions of things on Amazon for China!! I wish they’d Wake up and Look beyond the few dollars they might make, or look past the “in” thing to do, like drop shipping. Also, schools stopped teaching history for a reason. As generations don’t know our history, they can’t really understand how and why we BECAME the greatest country in the world! If we continue to ignore why America got great or don’t care, then get ready for a lot more of this kind of looking in the rear view mirror of quality, pride, safety, and a heck of a lot more!
Hazzeron Correct, they both on the panther platform along with the Town car, there's the Crown Victoria, the Grand Marquis, which is nicer than the crown Vic, but not as nice as the Town car, and the Town car, the top of the line panther body car.
Selling my 2009 Mercury Grande Marquis LS Ultimate edition. As of today 8/18/18 60,450 miles. Asking $9,500. Runs like new, cold AC, good tread on tires and pretty clean light color leather. Daily driver, only put 4500 miles a yr on her. I want to purchase a new Challenger. 😊
Continuation, I guess with having the E-Brake on the floor and having a Manual Gearbox with it would be hard to get used to at first if it did come with a Manual, because where I come from being Britain the hand brake/E-Brake is between the front Seats as is the Gear leaver and we tend to have on Fords 160MPH Analogue Speedometers but would probably max out on a Race Track anywhere between 105MPH and 125MPH, and of course a 2.0TDCI would max out at 112MPH according to the Brochure for 04FordCMAX
I like this car looks very clean and like new. Thanks for posting all this good interessting and informative videos about this cars and of course us cars.
You should change the cornering lights to white LEDs. Those lights on the sides that light up with the turn signals are usually referred to cornering lights!
If I ever give up on my Lincoln Mark VIII I would consider a Marauder. But it's not a car I would use for long trips! A Panther with the granny gears gives you a nice comfortable ride with surprisingly good gas mileage. Glad you like your LSE.
I want a car like this. Its great and cool on another level. I'm from the UK though and a car like this would be huge and cumbersome on our roads and the fuel consuming at uk prices would be devilish.
older people really know how to make cars last and look new. this is one great example
+David Robitaille (robitaill3) Back when these folks were young, you took care of things so that they last. They make them look new cause they really don't use them... They're parked most of the time
Car quality has reduced also. This is a solid, well built vehicle that doesn't have issues that many newer cars have with over powered and over stressed components.

Danny Clower about how much u paid for that Magna flow?
My first car is a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, I'm 18 and I love it... only 53K miles.
That's nice. Too bad the rest of Mercury's lineup was pretty unspectacular.
The best car in the world :)
etheain yes of course
etheain you are Dam Right!!
looking at an 01 w 86k in mint cond for 3800 or the CVPI...
@Tyler 324 nah just the cv because the police interceptor has too much engine strain
Yes a few more h p but my single factory exhaust is SS and looks like new. Not to mention it is super quiet
I just bought an 04 Ultimate Edition White with 90K and the interior looks brand new. The whole car is beautiful.
I got it. 05 model. Love it. Light blue. So damn comfortable. Puts out 224HP
Amazing! Looks like a new car. I love the Grand Marquis. They are comfortable, powerful, safe, reliable. PERFECTION. I wish to have one, but those were not sold in my country so I can't get a used one.
Simpler times, vid feels mad nostalgic
I know right, the damn video is now itself old. Let alone the car
I love big cars with a bench seat and column shift. So much room!
A 03 merc is going to be my next car, it has everything i want and need in a newer car, my current car is a 96 camry, its a little small but pretty roomy
I love me big cars too 😘 I've got the 2001 Mercury Grand Mercury LS ... Love It!
Me to
Also the Buick Park Avenue.
Is this a good choice for a first car? I want something that’s quiet, smooth, safe, spacious, reliable and that has a little bit of a luxury flair to it.
Dude smaller cars are actually safer
Iridion Prime what about gas mileage or maintenance?
Alan_Akbar smaller cars may be safer if you hit a stationary object, but if you get into a head on collision with another vehicle (especially one that’s bigger) it doesn’t fair as well
My first car for real
To me a good first car is a Honda Civic
What a classic, and it has been beautifully maintained. We had a couple of Grand Marquis' when I was growing up and they were great cars. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
My first Mercury sedan! Awesome job bro.
Who misses Papa Slim. God bless papa slim.
Beautiful car, I want to buy one like this
+Nathaniel Farley Me too!
I've got the 2001 and loving it!
I have a 2003 Grand Marquis LSE. It has dual exhaust, floor shifter, and bucket seats. When the air ride started to go bad I got rid of it and converted to coils. I also have an 03 Grand Marquis that I purchased after trading in my 95 and I love it. Oh and by the way the 03 Grand Marquis puts out 239 HP.
Only if it's got dual exhaust. Single exhaust shaves off 15 hp to 224hp at the wheels.
Great car!
I have a 2003 GS. Great car. Love driving it.
I got the 2001 GS... Nice Smooth ride, with get up and go..
Awesomeness I love AMERICAN big cars.
These were made in Canada at the now closed St. Thomas plant but I get the point.
Soon they will all be built in China.
Nice, and very roomy car. For those that still have them, they should be feel very very very proud of having Grand Marquis.
A very comfortable ride indeed. :D
Dang wow this is the car off my childhood it brings back so many memories of my dad and I, so sad it was totalled.
How'd you total it?
***** I didn't, my dad did. He was in traffic and he spilled water on his shirt, he looked down for 1 second, when he looked up he was in somebody's bumper
+Penrose l was leaving work and the same shit happen to me except I didn't crash. swerved out the way fast!! whew!!!
wow, the Interior Chrome you and you grandpa added gave that Interior a Touch of Class that only the Town Cars get!
That is one awesome ride there Kyle. I love these full size RWD sedans. My mom's car does the same things this does at night when you unlock it with the keyless entry. I got a 2002 grand marquis, love at first sight!! grandpas had a very good taste in cars!!
This is a very relaxing video.
Kyle, you should review the Mercury Marauder.
Indeed
+MrAddy15 That would be awesome!
Best parts of these cars is driving, the engine, the seats and the design
nice interior but the gauge cluster looks like a 90's video game
I love it when the radio was playing play that funky music song i love the good old 70's soul and disco music.
I really like this car. I want to buy one for my first car.
i am ether going to get the grand marquis or crown vic
for my first car
I also wanna buy this car but as my third car but i live in holland so i need to bring it over here
Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln Town Car, Lincoln Continental(1998-2002), and the Mercury Marauder all used the Panther Platform.
Kyle, which would you recommend a Grand Marquis or a Town Car? I am going to buy either one but I am torn between the two. I have no clue which to go with, I like the Town Car a lot but its kinda big but I think the Grand Marquis looks better. Which drives and rides better? I would really appreciate your answer!
love the fact that you are enthusiastic about panthers. once the last real american sedan, now a piece of history! love the videos. subscribed!
i hope to get one of these soon because i absolutely hate my current car which i've been suffering in for the last 2 years.
I almost bought one but ended up buying a 07 Honda Accord with 91k miles for $3000 which seemed like a sweet deal at first. When I saw the radio change to 96.1, I was yelling, PLEASE BE 96 ROCK. Best station ever, too bad they moved to Cincinnati...
I adore this car! It's the quintessential highway cruising machine.
10:49 The rich cousin xD
Lol I know right
great eye...love it!!!
Like the car, I have a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis.
Excellent reliable cars. Parts are readily available and they are very easy to work on
Drives as smooth as silk
Door chime sounds like a early 2000s ford crown victoria
I love all Mercury Grand Marquis LS cars.
I have a 95 marquis and it’s almost exactly the same. Only difference is exterior styling and no CD player in the stereo. Apart from that, it’s the same car almost a decade later
Very similar to the one I used to drive, I had a 96
I love them too. Just keep your 03 and continue to take care of it. It's not that much different from the 2010 and needs your TLC! :)
The history mercury (1938-2011) 73 years Mercury founded in 1938 But is get defunct in 2011 R.I.P. 🚗😞
Rest in peace
Yeah..but why?
Faraz Danish I think Americans got complacent, and weren’t looking while the politicians sold out our country to other countries. Cars, parts, meds, even tomato’s! (See prime video “Red Gold”! Im not from the us so this may sound stupid but this car is pretty much the crown victoria right?
yep ^^
Hazzeron so is the town car 😀
Hazzeron All three cars share the same body platform. It is known as the panther body which was around since the 1970s.
Hazzeron Correct, they both on the panther platform along with the Town car, there's the Crown Victoria, the Grand Marquis, which is nicer than the crown Vic, but not as nice as the Town car, and the Town car, the top of the line panther body car.
Uh no. The Vic is it's own car. Use back in the day for state troopers
Very nice car. Ive got a 04 sable LS and its awesome. Kind of a mini grand marquis. lol. Always gotta have random cattage. LOL!
Have a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Love it
My Aunt Ethel have this same model year Grand Marquis except her's is Jade Green and is a GS trim level
Clarence Freeman super hot fire?
Clarence Freeman same. My great aunt has the same (03 GS) except it's in the light blue color. Love that car!
Are you related to Gordon Freeman?
Selling my 2009 Mercury Grande Marquis LS Ultimate edition. As of today 8/18/18 60,450 miles. Asking $9,500.
Runs like new, cold AC, good tread on tires and pretty clean light color leather. Daily driver, only put 4500 miles a yr on her.
I want to purchase a new Challenger. 😊
I have one of those but from 1999 still runs great
where did you get the rear bumper chrome inserts? i would like to add some to my 2008 Grand marquis
Could you do an extra long morning drive video of that car ? Like maybe driving to school in the morning ? :)
I like this car looks very clean and like new.
Thanks for posting all this good interessting and informative videos about this cars and of course us cars.
Congratulations on one million!!!!
Man!! I really envy you.. You get the chance to test so many cars...
Where did u get the two chrome strips for the back bumper
such nice car bro . i want to get one of these
You should change the cornering lights to white LEDs. Those lights on the sides that light up with the turn signals are usually referred to cornering lights!
Yep
You're going all davidsfarm on us with the "random cattage" at the end. I like it.
At 10:48, is the Grand Marquis' competition, the Lincoln TownCar
more like a brother model
+Johnny Wong I saw that too.
Johnny Wong it's not competition... mercury and Lincoln are both owned by Ford... lmao
Elise N. I believe he means in terms of styling of the cars
Wherever you live man, the radio is awesome there
