  • In this video I give a full in depth tour of the final production year model of the Lincoln Town Car (2011). I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

This is the type of car you could drive across the continent and not be tired. Body on frame, rear wheel drive, and a bulletproof v8, it’s a shame cars like this are no longer in production.

My dad had been driving town cars for half of his entire life (mainly because he works for Dial 7) and did a lot of driving around in the city. 7 years each car, with about 400,000 miles on each of em and it still didn't break a sweat. So happy that he's going to pass down the 2010 Continental Edition to me someday!

The TownCar is interesting because even in the 1990s, it still kept its dated 1980s look until the redesign in 1998, which ended up being ahead of its time (it's like they totally skipped from the 1980s straight into the 2000s) that it needed relatively little adjustment over the years. That was one design that had fantastic shelf life. TownCar will always be a timeless winner.

      @42luke93 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Browningate
They should of put an in between 1097 and 1998 design. So it could have lasted another 5 years. But I’m not sure if it was sales or just the design that never changed which did bad for it.

The towncar along with the crown Vic and grand marquis were based off the panther platform which lasted from the late 1970's all the way to 2011 so they were literally built like old school cars body on frame rear wheel drive and a V8. That's how it kept that ride and feel that everybody loves.
I believe in 2012 new federal regulations on stability control is what finally made these cars to he discontinued

Didn't know these ever had something as electronically sophisticated as backup assist either, makes me wonder if it came on later Crown Victorias as well. Same with dual-zone climate control and in-dash 6-CD, SO cool, I would kill for the in-dash 6-CD just to have it, lol

I want one of these if I find one because it’s the type of car that is no longer popular I could get one for a great deal it can pull 2000lbs witch is good it’s got good fuel economy and a big gas tank it’s a great daily driver and a good travel car they should be easy to find because there were a lot made and a lot of people trading them in for an suv so finding one shouldn’t be too hard they are excellent cars the town car is one nice ride

Dear Ford, please don't stop making this and the Crown Victoria!!!! Bring back Mercury so the Grand Marquis is there too! These cars will be missed and I would definitely consider one in the future. People keep buying boring foreign cars anymore with 4 cylinders. Not saying that's bad but still, why would you want that when you can have something like THIS?! No foreign car company makes cars this nice and luxurious.

mhtube01 Well Lexus 460LS will outdue every part along with younger buyers too. Oh wait if the Toyota Century gets sold here nearly all luxury cars are done in the US.

Years ago, NVH used to be part of any review. That is, noise, vibration and harshness. These days with the suspension screwed to the body, mot cars especially Mercedes, are very noisy. So how quiet is it on the road with the road surface being the ubiquitous crushed rock.

@RiickRoll ive driven a mercury grand marquis with the same engine, and it has enough torque to pull, not too bad, still slow for a big v8, but not bad

@iGaRaai90 Well we bought ours I think in 2002 or around there. It started having issues maybe a year or 2 later. Electrical issues mostly but the 2 worst were when for some reason, it developed a prob in the fuel delivery system that basically made it hard to start. Sometimes it would take 5 CRANKS to start after sitting over night before it would turn over!! And then it ran like shit til it warmed up. Then the cheap plastic E brake release handle broke off so that was no longer usable!!!

I got a 1998 Lincoln continental, and it still outshines a lot of modern luxury sedans. Like the town car Idk why they killed off the continental.

They are going to redesign it and re-release it in a few years. Make it more modern.

@mhtube01 As an 'excuse' for BMW you have to say that their cars that were built around the 2000's were pretty unreliable, especially from an electric standpoint. But they have improved quite a bit so I personally wouldn't be too worried about buying a brand new one right now. Especially if it's still under the warranty you mentioned. Same goes for Merc, pretty unreliable around the 2000's, but have improved again. And Audi's are reliable anyways.

V8 with 230 odd hp, solid rear axle. For all those people complaining they made a mistake discontinuing these cars, if ppl were buying them they'd still be selling them.

The lack of sales and popularity is not the reason Ford Motor Company discontinued the Panther cars, as these cars we still very popular in 2011. The reaason these cars got the axe was that Ford thought it would be too expensive to update the safety features, you know, things like electronic stability control, unibody construction, and all that to live up to the impending safety regulations of the early 2010s.

@ratmtbola Yeah the newer ones do look better. My Aunt and Uncle have a 2011 BMW X5 M and it's a really nice car but it's already had some electrical issues. One including when they took it out one day, they said when they started it, it felt like the engine was only running on half of it's cylinders! Talk about weird! They took it to the dealer and then when they shut it off and started it back up again it was fine They love it's performance but aren't crazy about some of the other things.
