After getting tips of how to sing Sound of Music from you, I performed this song for a show and it was very well received. I was asked by several people if I was a professional vocalist. I know I couldn’t have done it as well if it wasn’t for your tutorial. Thank you!
it's a Machiavellian pleasure to hear your mother-of-pearl voice... I'm looking forward to hearing you sing the whole song without interruptions for your charming and thoughtful lessons and I do not get it no matter how much I see it again... hahahahha sorry... YOU ARE TOTAL AND ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT singing and teacher, never better said in this song dont you think? Good job, i love you!
Oh, The Sound of Music! A very nostalgic musical-movie, with the most beautiful songs ever. I just feel so comfortable to follow your instructions. This song is very difficult, started with very high notes.. And apparently, we do need some practice and warming-ups before getting used to with this kind of songs. Thanks for your guide, Freya! Stay awesome! :)
In talking with Ms. Andrews she said she was taught to the true to her vowels and sharp on consonants and just close the mouth on it so you dont get the 'a at the end of the note.
Wonderful video! I wish Carrie Underwood had studied this video before performing the role of Maria in the NBC production. She is an excellent singer when doing country, rock, and pop, but not "The Sound of Music" which really does require a semiclassical style.
at last I have managed to verify my name and be able to leave comments! Freya this is the most awesome , for me, video I have seen yet! mega lightbulb moments, as all I have struggled to understand re head and chest voice and how to switch... how to USE them, is suddenly illuminated by the use of examples here. I need to rewatch this several times, and combine it with " the different colours of head voice" ...... that was just beginning to get thro to me.. I mailed it to my singing teacher! But the example of a song has crystallised something that I was struggling with... The sound of music is JUST the sort of thing I like to sing,...I have known it word perfect since I was a young child and saw the original stage show.. Honestly I bored my husband, [who does also love to sing!] by how excited I was about this video!! this is your Christmas present to me! Bless you, and a happy Christmas to you and your family.
