@@garyolafson8303 He could probably *get* a classic 30's Ford wire wheel with ford center hub, given time and his connections, and mount *that* on there.
We thought about it, but it isn't an "irontrap" built car. We just cleaned it up and saved it. Doesn't seem fitting. We're going to run without the spare for now and make a license plate bracket over the horse shoe.
I really love this car. I like the fact that it still has the full rear mudguards, running boards and front wings (fenders). I also like the fact that its not a rat rod and is well appointed and probably a more practical car. I could see myself going on a holiday in this car. I hope you drive the wheels off it when you finish it.
The car looks amazing....with the spare in my narrow minded opinion. It fits the dream of the builder. That said, this is YOUR car, make it your dream?
Well it looks vastly different for what type of paint it is, also can really appreciate why you took the time and had him go through a process of dirt removal and then a sealing wax to finalize the protection, it's been years since I've done this work but can fully understand why you waited for the other projects to be done. It was someone dream car, not my choice for paint but still it looks good! Take care
WOW ! Almost like a shiney new dime. The effort was worth it. I like the look with the spare off, it shows off the look of it being a 33, 34 Sedan. Now a dropped front axle would enhance the look so much ! And dropping an axle narrows the wheel track which would put the tire UNDER the fender where it belongs. Nice to see it move on it's own also. Keep it up Matt, you will be on the road and enjoying it soon.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I do like the white walls on this car. Just adds a nice touch in my mind. Along with the spare tire mounted on the back it works for me.
Matt, you are one of the inspirations for me starting my channel because I grew up riding around in my Grandpa's antique cars and going to the Antique Auto Hill Climb in Newport Indiana every year... Grandpa passed a few years ago and my dream is to one day have a 34 Tudor with a flathead v8 in it but some modern features to make it a good cruiser... My grandpa's vehicles I grew up riding in were all fully/partially restored 30 Ford pickup, 35 Ford Coupe, 36 Ford Pickup, 39 Ford Pickup, 41 Ford F1 (?), 39 International flat bed, and my all time favorite the 35 Ford Pickup (the very first video on my channel before it was even a channel lol). Hope you get a chance to check out the channel, can't wait to see the 34 hit the road and can't wait for all the other projects to come!
I love the car with the hood on--it gives it so much class! He really made the paint (especially on the hood) pop! I say ace the spare tire and put the license plate where the bracket used to be.Problem solved! JMHO
Kevin did a great job with the '34, very meticulous and obviously takes pride in his work.👍. I, like other commenters kinda like the mounted spare tire, but with a different colored cover, or white with the Iron Trap logo. The '34 has the appearance of a touring car so the mounted spare I think would be time appropriate. However, what do I know! I polish our family vehicle twice a year so I know how much work Kevin did. I enjoyed the video as the '34 gets closer to completion, and I look forward to your next episode. Stay healthy and safe y'all and cheers from an old retired coot living in Tennessee.❤️👍😷🍻✌️
Wow how good does that look Got to love the old laquer paint It is my favourite paint to use Finished now just drive it And yes a bit of pin stripe 👍👍😍😍
She is a beauty, much more so than a trailer queen would be (IMO). I like the spare tire off myself, but we are all different. I have been anxiously awaiting this part, and the old Gulf tire is so cool. Thanks for the update. I can’t wait for the next one. 👊☮️
my vote is to keep the spare. it's part of its history and looks right with the white cover. the nose does need to come down a bit as you've said but the car is looking so much better!
What a gem , she came up pretty darn well considering the age of the paint , now she shines I bet you’re itching to get it on the road once and for all , I saw the teasers on Instagram and was hoping you’d have this up tonight 😎👍👍🇦🇺cheers from down under and well done on scoring another 32 coupe I’m drooling lol
Your friend made it shine. it looks good. There's a lot of patience involve in doing a good job. It was worth waiting for. As for the spare. Yes it does look better without it but I've owned cars without spares. If you get a puncture you end up having to drive it on the flatty and ruin the tyre where you could have got a way with a puncture repair.
What a difference. I love seeing it back together with the hood. I hope you are going to put blackwalls on when you get new tires. That would finish a perfect look.
Looks better with the spare on the back , with the cover cleaned and on , looks Factry !! 🤪 , looking really good now it’s all clean and polished , awesome car , love the way it starts almost instantly.
What a great looking car. I just wanted to thank you for posting such great videos. I am confined due to some disabilities but I really feel like I'm right there with you. I really look forward to watching. Thanks
Nice recovery of old paint. A word of caution about the old chrome. Years ago our car club had a guy from a chrome plating shop talk about taking care of chrome. He said NEVER use anything abrasive on chrome plating, because it is so thin. I asked, 'what about rubbing compound?' No, he said.
Good old chrome shouldn't be thin... they buff it up in chrome shops.. I could see that on super thin chinese repop parts but not old triple chromed parts.. never had an issue myself using steel wool and compound.
Rick here from RCindustry, Love the car. It looks amazing after the shine up. I like the spair tire on the back, The bumper is made for it. Not crazy about the white tire cover, however maybe a black tire cover with Iron Trap Garage logo. Just sayin'
I like the spare tire with logo idea also.
I say keep the spare tire and get an Iron Trap Garage spare tire cover made for it.
Personally I like the look with the spare wheel...
I agree. He would like having a spare even better if he has a flat out on the road somewhere.
if the spare tire was a classic 30's Ford wire wheel with ford center hub (no white cover over it) - I then would agree with you two.
@@garyolafson8303 He could probably *get* a classic 30's Ford wire wheel with ford center hub, given time and his connections, and mount *that* on there.
particularly with this car and it's 60s vibe. the white cover complete's the look.
I agree with the suggestion, to keep the spare, and use an Iron Trap Garage cover...
It looks great!!!!!

@@IronTrapGarage Yeah, I understand your reply about the tire cover..You're right...
Hey, cool idea about the license plate holder....
@@IronTrapGarage why not a spare cover that says "another one saved by IronTrap Garage"?
Who would have thought it was looking that good? 50 years later, still beautiful. Matt it's looking great. 👍
Looks great
I’d put the spare back on
It was a 60s thing to start reinstalling these accessories that led into the resto-rod trend of the 70s
exactly.
Omg. I love the hood on.
The 34 is becoming my favorite. Agree, way cooler without the spare either way. But I think you need a few more cars. 🤪
What a difference detailing makes when a pro does it.
Surprising how interesting watching a car being washed can be. She's a beauty Matt, you must be dead chuffed.
She's looking beautiful, for the age! Keeping the originality of the 60s is definitely the best way to go!

So, other than brakes, cooling system, fuel system, and tires she's ready for the road! Love the positivity, it's contagious!
Man, does that car look great with the hood on!
The car looks amazing....with the spare in my narrow minded opinion. It fits the dream of the builder. That said, this is YOUR car, make it your dream?
I never get bored at looking at the 34, Kevin did great work, get him to clean the Mercury!!!
That might take a little more magic haha
It came up really well considering how long it has been on there. You made a very good point, Matt, the trick is knowing when to stop.
Looks a lot better Matt.
Well it looks vastly different for what type of paint it is, also can really appreciate why you took the time and had him go through a process of dirt removal and then a sealing wax to finalize the protection, it's been years since I've done this work but can fully understand why you waited for the other projects to be done. A drop axle is on the list of things to do!!!

That car is SWEEEEEET. Ya gots ta keep that spare. Part of its history.

We will be driving soon enough!!!

Looks amazing, nothing like old paint, it just has a sweet look to it.
She's got a fine shine now. Looking better every day. I like the spare on the back too. Make an ITG logo for the back. Free advertising.
Wow how good does that look
Got to love the old laquer paint
It is my favourite paint to use
Finished now just drive it

Gosh i love that car, So beautiful.
I can just hear the small plane guy " look at that, washing his car IN the rain " Too funny.
What a difference. The old girl looks good. I enjoy watching your videos. I can't wait to see you cruising her for the first time👍😀. Thanks Matt
HI MATT THE CAR LOOK LIKE A NEW CAR NOW SO GREAT VIDEO ON HERE TODA STAY SAFE

Beautiful Time Capsule, Leave it as is !!
Wow just keeps getting better
I agree keep the spare with the Iron Trap Garage logo on it !
Love how fadded red comes back looks great what a find
Man that looks BEAUTIFUL, but I like the look with the spare wheel on the back but it's your car and you can do what you want. It's still beautiful
Wow.just wow.
Thanks Matt. You now have me seriously looking for a nice 34 Vicky!
Heck yeah!!! Good luck on your search!!
Spectacular transformation.
Looks great after all those years, cannot wait to see it going down the road.
Agreed got to keep the spare
wow. big difference on paint. nice work.

Very satisfying, never noticed the pinstripe before 😎
We will probably be having it redone in actual paint at some point
As always, your projects look awesome...and the 34 Ford is looking terrific.
Red spare cover with White Lettering with the Iron Trap Garage logo on it !
She looks awesome she's a beauty keep up the great videos and awesome work take care and stay safe and stay blessed see you in the next one
What a transformation ! Larry would be happy with the work you have done on this one! Almost Road Ready! Looks better with no spare (my opinion)
It's the product of one team work, and the car's been great, especially with Bolch.
Really it's amizing ♥️
What a difference. I love seeing it back together with the hood. I hope you are going to put blackwalls on when you get new tires. That would finish a perfect look.
I disagree. I think the thin whitewalls fit the style and era it was built perfectly.
Looks better with the spare on the back , with the cover cleaned and on , looks Factry !! 🤪 , looking really good now it’s all clean and polished , awesome car , love the way it starts almost instantly.
Really cool to see how you’ve brought her back! She’s looking great!
Really loving this journey that you've taken us on! Thanks!
Looks great. I'd love to see it on a sunny day.
It looks great all cleaned up! Awesome.
So satisfying to see this car cleaned up! Enjoyed it!!! Going to be difficult to decide what to drive in the future.
Looks awesome, Larry would be proud of you!
We hope! Can't wait for Barry to see the car
Wow. I knew it would look AWESOME
Matt pick up a inspection camera for looking inside gas tanks there reasonable and work great, just a thought. 34 looking so good thanks for sharing
Wow, what a huge transformation! Now be that gas tank cleaned up, replaced, radiator, tires...make it a driver 😁
I'm going to try that with my wife next time. Let her wash while I video. Wish me luck.
Let me know how that works for you. Lol
Wow ! Bill
That looks great for the age of the paint and number of years it set with nothing done to it. Very cool old school 34 hot rod.
Really cool hot Rod guys
IT LOOKS GREAT MATT! ....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
Car looks fantastic!
Wow! Another awesome mile stone overcome, great job! Only a few more things to do. And she will be streetable again

Amazing ! Great job 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wow shined up awesome!!!
Wow Matt super Rad what a gem
Nice job. WD40 and fine steel wool does a nice job pulling the rust out of pits
Leave the tire on the back but change the cover to your your Iron Trap logo

Nice. She looks good bud
Looking good Matt!!!
It looks good with the hood
Very very nice the original owner should be very proud spare tires got to go back on though great job excellent work
Is the original owner watching these or is it going to be a total surprise when he comes to visit
Looking cooler all the time!
Nice looking car, love the old cars.
Rick here from RCindustry, Love the car. It looks amazing after the shine up. I like the spair tire on the back, The bumper is made for it. Not crazy about the white tire cover, however maybe a black tire cover with Iron Trap Garage logo. Just sayin'
Looks fantastic Matt
If it were me, id leave the tire off the back, and maybe hide the bracket area by moving the lisc plate over to the center. Looks great all shined up!
I wish I had this car in high school (grad '65 SoCal).
Better is better than not great.right? i think for what it was its still a beautiful car.super job man.
