Forgotten Hot Rod Reunited With Family After 50 Years!!!

  • Earlier this year Matt was able to track down the man who originally hot rodded the 1934 Ford Tudor that Matt purchased from the Schroll Estate. Barry Skelly had modified the car in the 1960s and it was his pride and joy, but due to an expanding family he was forced to sell the car and never saw it again. Matt has been working hard through the summer to get the car back on the road and had planned to meet up with Barry. Unfortunately Barry Skelly passed away August 11th of this year and he was never able to see the car. Barry's son and daughter are coming to the garage today to take a look at their Dads long lost hot rod. Neither of them have ever seen the car and we can't wait to see and hear their reaction...

This is cool. Very good of you. When I was 5, I was devastated to find out my dad once owned a ‘36 Ford.... but he had to sell it to pay for my older sister’s birth a couple years before I was born. I remember telling Dad I wished he had kept the car and left my sister at the hospital!! Lol

Thanks to you, and Larry for not doing much to the car, the family was able to connect to their father and grandfather in a way few of us can. In all aspects we are just caretakers of what we surround ourselves with. The fact you want that responsibility of that to someday go back to Barry's family speaks volumes of you as a man. An excellent video to say the least, one that will be hard to duplicate.

Great ending to this story. This is one happy car and Every time you talk about it or show the car you get a smile on your face. From the minute you got in the car you had a smile on your face and so did the family. I bet they will smile most of the way home talking about that car and the art that you gave them will keep putting a smile on their face. No matter what happens to this car when your in your 70's like I am and think about it you will have a smile on you face. No matter what you do or build from here on out , you will never have a car that makes you as happy as this one. Thank you for bringing us a long . In doing what you have done with this car you have honored it and yourself .
