Like the welcome to monster high and electrified dolls seem no different in quality to me, just different in design. I have older and newer dolls. The dolls with no elbow and knee articulation don't bother me too much either , their just a cheaper option, obviously lower in quality because of that though.

I have seen this comment before, but i wanna say it here and i forgot who said it.
The karens ruined monster high because they were too scary, too skinny, and they dressed "inappropriately". They complained, and mattel changed the doll line, but every other customer stopped buying.
Although they complained about MH, Barbie still got away with setting up a unrealistic body standard as well, (this was before the curvier barbies came out) and LOL having babies dressed as hookers. (LOL doesn't even remove genitals, at least for the male ones.)
Do you see the Karens complaining about that? No.
I hope the new dolls this year will be the start of something great, like bringing back the old MH.

i dont know if you count great scarier reef as reboot (i dont see it as the reboot because it was before the face molds changed) but lagoona did have her sister kelpie and she had like 5 brothers. the reboot family just gave her a new sister, ebbie, and didnt include her brothers
she said she made the video before she saw scarrier reef and it basically came the same day as filming for her

I could literally reach out, buy one for 16 dollars, and walk out. now that same doll that costs less than 16 dollars to make costs 80 on the internet. outrageous.

I definitely agree. As an adult fan of dolls and figurines, the more posable a doll is the better. Like, put them on your shelf and you can really change up their pose all the time. Their quality is also insane, you can see so much more, than have WEIGHT! Look at Gooliopie and her shoes or the toxic waste designs in her eyes. I wish they made more of them, especially Ghoulia.
the problem with the reboot dolls is that all their clothes are too...simple looking.
like their clothes still match their aethetic as a character but their old designs (even their very first designs) were extravagant in my eyes and thats what made me in love with drawing clothes in the first place

I love the skultimate roller maze, Infact I have every single one of them from that line. I’m pretty angry that Mattel took over and absolutely ruined them. The fact that they haven’t got the same style clothes and a completely different body mold makes me really sad.
Someone please send this to Mattel. This hit me right in the nostalgia and it makes me so happy, they need to stop listening to the Karen’s and realize this was the iconic times.
I watched because it takes ALOT to have done a list like you have and I thought it would mean that you loved MH as much as me. I was right. I started collecting in 2010. They had advertised the release of the first episode on teletoon I believe and I was super excited to watch it but was not in love with the dolls. I picked up a Frankie second hand between that halloween and christmas and it was all down hill from there. I really agree with you about the detail and quality going down. I know that Mattel is a company and they are focused on sell sell sell but the line would have done better if they stream lined it and upped the quality. Less lines, more detail. There are sparks of it in the reboot, nice shoe here, cool pattern there, but they doll lines look very similar after a certain point. It felt like less thought was put into them, less care. One of the dolls that I dont own from the reboot but would love to is the Ballerina Moanica. Her dress is covered in biohazard symbols. So fricken COOL! My top list would look different but I understand why you have yours listed as such. Thank you for the fun video!

Reading the old slogan has me in tears literally. I remember when I first found out about the reboot dolls was from my baby cousin who had one of the dolls I thought it was one of the cheap Dollar General ripoffs goth girls if you know about. But then I looked at them closely and seen that it was a Draculaura doll but reboot it I broke down and gave my cousin my last Monster High doll that was still in the box it was a Frankie doll I can't remember exactly which one it was from she was so grateful for me for it she loved the outrageous outfits and how it felt like a real person's outfit instead of a doll... really breaks my heart. #StopTheKaren's
All the more reasons with an Army of Monster High Fan Groups we will make our Message Loud and Notice Able to get Mattel's and Universal's Attentions
But we need to make our Message into an Awareness in doing so

Rochelle Goyle and Venus McFlytrap were my favourites always, and I remember being so upset because I didn't get the original Rochelle, and got Ghouls Night out about a week or two later, so that line will always be special to me! Not trying to bash your opinions, and thanks for bringing me back to my childhood!
I remember when Monster High first came out and I loved collecting the dolls and just looking at them. They were so pretty and cook to look at back than. But the reboot dolls are just...ugh I hate them. I kind of feel bad for the kids who are getting into MH now and can't experience the amazement the dolls use to be.

The bigger dolls are really handy for customizing. I plan to use them for my steven universe repaints in the future actually as bases for the diamonds.
I regret throwing out my MH dolls when I moved out. I had every single doll, including the sets and the limited ones up until about 2016ish

I'm just a bit dissapointed that some reboot dolls look more beautiful for you than the Classroom, this line is big and have a good Monster High vibe, also Lagoona Classroom is one of the best Lagoona for meeee
Monster High came out around 2010 right? I remember as a young teen disliking them because I just lumped them in with bratz dolls and I felt too old for dolls at that point. As a kid I thought they (bratz dolls) were ugly and I still do now lol. But with MH I can look back and appreciate what the line was going for encouraging girls to enjoy more spooky/monstrous things in a really fun and creative way and the quality of the dolls seemed decent. The caveat I have is I wish they had more diverse body types- but from a mass production/cost viewpoint I can see why they kept the bodies the same. Plus, now it's fun to watch people create ooak dolls from old mh dolls and apoxie sculpt can help fix those issues.

My favorite thing about the old dolls was being able to move the legs and arms however I wanted.. it was so cool to have those dolls because they were one of the only types that weren’t stiff. I wasn’t able to have literal sitting positions
One thing I love about MH dolls, is how unique their molds are compared to other dolls. Like, Gooliopie and her drippy body and ears. You've got Skelita who is a fucking skelley! There's River with her cool see through limbs with bones inside. Luna with her weird insect chitin, and Jinafire who's all scales. Heck, some of the characters even sported some body hair/fur. I loved the whole theme of accepting your flaws...granted, a few different body types might have been welcome, but they still did pretty good overall.
The only other thing I'd have wished was if they gave the dolls ankle joints. The male dolls got to have them (I think), so why didn't the female dolls have them too? It would have allowed for them to have more genuine flat shoes along with their awesome heels. It always seemed a little off to me when looking at the cartoons where they'd be off on some wacky adventure in super Lady Gaga massive platform heels. Watching the girls run is super awkward at times. Either way, I still love them.
When I saw the Dot Dead Gorgeous line I nearly fainted because I vividly remember getting the Spectra Vondergiest and Operatta😭I was also gifted the Skull Shores 5 pack for Christmas years and years ago, and I’m so sad that I’ve lost or given away each and everyone of my monster high dolls because they are some of my favourite dolls from my childhood
I was super lucky to find all the freaky fusions new characters with EVERYTHING (other than the box) as well honey swamp and viperine gorgon from frights camera action, and howleen and gigi from 13 wishes with everything for 5 dollars each!!! I spent under 40 dollars for all of them. Honestly i dont know how i got this lucky, it was at a local thrift shop, also was lucky and found the collecter skelita and all her pieces at a value village. Honestly thrift shops is where i get all my dolls, and i find some amazing things

The Dawn of the Dance Clawdeen is my #1 too! I was obsessed with neon green at the time the line came out--I was in college mind you lol, I've just always loved dolls and had never seen anything like her. Still haven't, honestly!!
I also have a whole story attached to her too that makes her even more special for me, so I hope you don't mind me sharing. Shortly after DotD came out, Clawdeen was sold out EVERYWHERE. When my mom asked what I wanted for Christmas, I said, "if you can find her, I want this doll." So what did my wonderful, technologically illiterate mother do for her 20-something kid? After finding nothing in any stores in the whole state, she learned how to navigate eBay and bought one from a scalper across the country. As she was waiting for the package to arrive, she had to go out of town and found THREE of this Clawdeen in a run-down Target in a small town. She bought them, planning to sell them for that high price too... but couldn't do it. She took them all back so no one else would have to pay almost four times the retail to get their kid a gift, especially if that kid was still... well, a child. It's like she never considered someone else might scalp them instead, haha. She used that money to get me two others I wanted. My mom being considerate to all the other moms out there while going so far out of her way to make me happy too made me cry. I'll never forget all the times she'd call me all excited because she found MH dolls she'd never seen and wanted to know if she should get them for me ♡
Sorry for the rambling there!! Monster High was childhood for a lot of people, but for me, it was a really special bonding experience with my mom (who still thinks they are really cool too.)

It’s ashame because now the ones that I want are priced so high now that I am actually allowed to get them:’00 the only Monster High thing I have is the 13 Wishes movie, which, yes, is AMAZING.

When monster high still had control of their dolls, it was GREAT! But then they sold out to mattel, and now they legit look like barbies with different skin tones. I hate the new reboot dolls.....they took away everything that made monster high dolls good dolls.
