They can be anything from 1.1 to 1.75 inches on a Brompton or 28mm to 42mm. Schwalbe ones are 1.1. And to hit the speeds these guys are doing and hold them. Narrow race tyres will be much better.
It's pretty impressive - beyond me - but the velodrome is very smooth, pretty sheltered, and they're drafting. I've not managed these speeds, but the hour I spent there once was the fastest I've personally ever ridden on the flat. The distance I covered in that hour was remarkable.
@@SingaporeUntold I only noticed because I'm learning and I'm told at 6 ft 1 inch or 185.5cm I'm going to be at the limit of the stock seatpost but it was already pre-ordered by the shop speced out with the standard seatpost (I'm from the United States and there's a very long wait list if you want to order a custom bike. I found a shop that ordered their full allotments this summer that had 3 unclaimed bikes (out of 16 ordered) one of which was an h6r in black lacquer with -12% gear ring: pretty much exactly what I wanted and I committed to it a couple months ago. If I had ordered a Brompton exactly as I wanted from the factory I wouldn't be getting it until next spring at the absolute earliest. I intend on flipping the pentaclip to give me that additional couple centimeters but might upgrade to a telescopic after taking delivery 🤔
@@SingaporeUntold and ongoing for well over a year now. I do understand that Brompton is meeting their delivery deadlines pretty accurately for being relatively low volume (in the world market) and high demand so that's positive. I believe it is due to them controlling so much of their supply chain and Manufacturing which is also confidence-inspiring on many levels. Part shortages are just as much a reality as bike shortages right now but at least I know I'll be able to Source the part eventually for a Brompton while I'm hearing a lot of complaints about competing companies like dahon not having Parts availability for models after a couple 3 years, things as simple as latches or hinges, integral to functionality aren't available from the manufacturer when they discontinue a bike model or just update and modify a latch or something.
Revisit the video. A year later I don’t think I can last this endurance at this pace but now I have even went 52km/h on my bike without draft. So proud of my progress. Actually I’ve come to realize that the 6 speed is the best performance variation. All the new external gear bromptons have very limited range and wouldn’t keep up to these bikes in the video.
crazy hectic race.... those are all standard CHPT3 6-speeds?
reyskidude Yep! 6 speeds. Clipless shoes and pedals allowed though.
Some of these lads look like they need the longer seat post.
Crazily speedy. What's the great size for this chpt 3?
Standard 6 speed gearing. All bikes were raced as stock as possible except for pedals
joe brown hi, this pedal using cleat pedal for road bikes / mtb?
That is one brutal race.
this is what i call a fair race
what is the width of the tires?

They sound like a swarm off bees. Awesome :)
40kph on a Brompton, I can't even keep that speed on my aero road bike! (yeah, my legs weak)
They ride in a Peloton.

Brilliant how do you get involved and where do you get one of those particular Bromptons they’re not standard are they?
What is the wheel size of this folding bike?
viron guiling 16 inch 🚵🏽♂️
Set up in my garage. Sure comes in handy. Works great
They are all chpt3’s
What chaining??
Why they all sit way too low? Looks like the bikes had the telescopic seatpost.
I'm wondering the same thing. I'm just getting a Brompton but even though I'm new to cycling most of these guys look like they're sitting way too low
My same impression. It’s possible that they require only a stock bike which has a height limitation for taller people

@@NoZenith seems the bike shortage is global

20 "??

gear size?
never thought that those bike can run pretty fast
What's lovely shirts.
Any guys know it? If you know, let me how can I get it.
Hyonseung Lee The jerseys are made by Kalf - merino blend I believe.
AWESOME SPEED
That’s the fastest I’ve seen a brompton on TH-cam for a flat
But they should run each individually. I would like to see the real max without drafting

Brompton can reach 40+👏
Looks Mega!
This video feels like it’s not going anywhere.
It's riding around in circles, what do you expect? 😂
Hahahaha
