love this video. ive watched it an insane number of times. thank you for sharing it, it's almost therapeutic. the downside is that i now want to spend a load of money on my own Brompton! Have you had the opportunity to test the dt swiss shifter? how would you rate it? looks, and sounds, like it would be lovely to use.
Thanks for that uplifting comment, we are always happy to share and inspire, we keep on trying different combinations some failed and that is what we called experience but this makes us happy and for some as well. DT Swiss shifter is amazing! You will never regret replacing those plastic shifters.
@@781BromptonPremiumParts You are very welcome and thank you for your reply. I hope you dont mind me asking some more questions about your video. i have a two speed brompton and there is a 2 position version of the dt swiss shifter (open and lock) available, do you think this would be suitable for me? Also, i note that you replaced the spring assembly adjacent to the derailleur, would i need to do this as well or do you think i could use the exisiting components there? Many thanks, Chris
@@cswjames this CHPT3 Brompton is 2 speed so it is suitable to your setup and you don't need to replace the spring to make it work, you could use your existing original components with DT Swiss shifter, your questions are welcome here anytime man!
Hi i saw that you use DT shifter is this CHPT 3 still use 3 x 2 speed? or it has been change to external? What type is the shifter does it work if we still use the 3 x 2 speed?
Hello Adi, this is CHPT3 2 speed version, for the DT shifter it can be use for 2 or 3 speed external. if you want to change the original shifter which works perfectly for 3x2 Brompton gears, try to go for maybe DT swiss thumb shifter for left and right.
So in theory, 2 plus 3 speed shifters allow you to use it for a 6 speed, but the DT Swiss Shifter only works well when mounted on the right handle bar. I have the 3 speed and love it. A pain to tune but once you get it right, it's a very satisfying clickly shifter.
Hi bungee28, i wonder if you could help me? I have a 2 speed brompton and have bought the above shifter after seeing this video. I am struggling to install it though, because the cable seems to end in the spring part by the derailer and not the shifter. Is there another bit, such as a barrel nut, that I need to get or do I need to replace the whole spring assembly bit? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris
@@cswjames Hi Chris, that's correct. After market shifters require you to replace the cable anchor at the end of the derailleur cable. Someone else did it for me. You can see an example in the photos here: th-cam.com/video/Ic7FgPfz2qA/w-d-xo.html
Hi, i bought the EE Brake too but with the H&H adapter the tyre is too near the caliper and slink on it. Where did you buy the TI Parts adapter? Thank YOU!! C
evelyn vega for performance purposes and to have a little bit fun, you will know when you change yours, definitely not to brag but just to show that you can still do more with your Bromptons. Thanks for watching and keep safe over there!
Hi PJ, we did include the bell to see the difference of what we are loosing in terms of total weight in replacing the original Brompton brake levers. Good to know you are really paying attention PJ! Thanks and keep safe.
Those scratches broke my heart❤️😭
Absolutely brilliant video thanks couldnt stop watching
macpdm Thank you! That means a lot, keep safe!
Dream build!!
Do it man!
Nice.Whats the brand of that shifter
DT swiss 2 in 1 Neil, thanks
Im fall in love with Brompton..🥰
we do as well Anna
Bromptons are girls. You ok with that, Anna? 🏄🏻♀️🧘🏻♀️👙
@tillallareoneluv , was it good? I bet the Brompster outlasted you.
@tillallareoneluv , I would've taken offense at a Brompton calling me by another name. Nonetheless you were happy.
Nice music... thanks....
Thans Jose!
Brilliant video, thanks. Will the eeBrakes work with the stock Brompton levers?
Yes it does Bisonvidz, it works really well with the stock Brompton Levers.
great video...Can you show us how to do a step by step guide to convert a Brompton from 3 speed to 6 speed?
Well done, beautiful bromy!
Christian B. Thanks man, keep safe!
hi - great vid - what was the gear thumb shifter ? I'm not sure i understood which part it was in the list you provided - cheers
Hey Snaz, we used DT Swiss two in one remote for the thumb shifter.
I love the EE brakes-especially the quick release feature-something that's missing on Brompton brakes
not to mention the power to stop, it really amazes us.
Hm is that ee brakes 😎
I thought the dt swiss shifter is for 3 speed?
Yes it is Lam
Hey, what brand are you using for chainring? Thx
agung bhakti wiratama we used the Ridea 56T oval chainring, so far so good!
Hi, whats the model of your dt swiss gear shifter? 😊
TWO in ONE

Hi Wei, this DT swiss is for 2-3 speed only, sorry man

use 3 spoke carbon rims for the front, it will look so good
Thanks for your opinion Faheem
Hi, i bought the EE Brake too but with the H&H adapter the tyre is too near the caliper and slink on it. Where did you buy the TI Parts adapter? Thank YOU!! C
it is available in Ebay, highly recommended, they also have the Ti Parts arms that replace the original EE brakes for bigger tires.
781 Brompton Premium Parts where on e-bay? I can’t find the TPW shop. Can you send me a link? Thanks
Should weight the whole bike before and after... btw NICE mod.
Why do the changes? Is it just to make it lighter? Or just to brag about all the changes you made? Help me understand. :))

Thanks Jay, probably the tensioner and pulley, keep safe!
Indonesia has a brand called Element Pikes. It is a copy of a brompton. Is it a licensed brompton or a copy?
Hi Sitou, it is an original Brompton CHP3 version 1.
Awesome bike. What brand are those grips?
it is an Ergon GA3 Grips, keep safe Joe.
Exctreme cool !!!
Thorsten Widmer thanks, keep safe!
Nice video but it is an unfair comparison to weigh kcnc bare brake levers to brompton units which even have an integrated bell still attached.

Great visuals but the music detracts rather than complements the video.
Thanks for your feedback
beautiful bicycle What model is the chain pusher with bearings? Thank you
Hi J L, you can it with Ti Parts Workshop
How much is the bike as it sits now with Mods?
Hi Kevin, to be honest, we are not sure or maybe we are just not ready to find out, lol
My stock CHPT3 6 just went into hiding.
Nice except for the HK (China) wheels
Ed 007 Hi, thanks but wheels are not from Hong Kong
Music spoils video but apart, great video.
Taking the loose change out of your pockets will be more effective and less hassle.
Hey John Hughes, lol, we have a lot of time to hassle and stretching to do during this lockdown, keep safe man.
Unwatchable due to the awful “music” choice!
ianmedium music is very subjective, if you prefer classical we respect that, you can always mute and watch, thanks for your feedback man.
Brompton $1,600... up grades $2,000... two mortgage payments... I guess it’s ok if you have more money than you know what to do with...
$1.600 is way too low .... :-)
