Dear Alastair and Brompton I have returned to this video time and time again during lockdown, it’s honestly kept me sane thank you. I can’t wait to be able to cycle freely across counties and countries without having the worry!
This was absolutely beautiful, well done! Got to say though, even out there in such an isolated place, I couldn't just leave my Brompton behind without constantly worrying it'd be stolen.
Captivating. That is the word I would use to describe this video. Like the last commentor, I am in my late 50's and used to love doing things like this. But alas, time catches up to all of us and now our dreams are realised by You Tube and memories......
Why? I’m in my sixties and recently did LeJog on my 3 speed Brompton, also Way of the Roses and other tours of the UK. You mustn’t let age get in the way!
So much to inspire here. We CAN still find adventure and peace. It is there for us if we dare to dream. It can also tread lightly with the right travel ethic. Beautiful story, told humbly!
So beautifully shot and executed trip. But the video feels like a commercial being too short. We need the feature length film. The planning. Arguing. Gear ideas. Etc. More!! 😬
I've seen images of Suilven before but your film has made me want to go there. It's amazing that you can fit a Brompton and an inflatable boat into your rucksack.
Which Train / Bus do you take (Inverness-Ullapool ? or ... and then ... to start the cycling/walking...) to do this beautiful trip ? It is incredible, I try to climb Suilven more than Thrirty years ago and I can't because an insect go in my ear and I come back to Lochinver to extract it from my ear... Your film is inspire me a lot. Thanks.
Just incredible, very inspiring adventure, I was quite surprised when the got the blowup kayaks, and paddled away, did not see that coming, or where the kayaks there before? do they make paddles that pack away that small?
Been on Suliven many times & cut out the long hike in by using my MTB.The rough track in would be no place for a Brompton so smart move with the rafts.Today i collect my first Brompton so the next time i do Suliven :)
very nice video so beautifully shot. May I know what bag you use to carry ur cameras during cycling? I was afraid the minor vibrations will spoil the camera eventually
how tf did you manage to take such good scenes ? also how much all this filming material weighs ? where did you put the bikes during the climbing ? extremely beautiful video, thx
I suppose they didn't climb at all, as the mountain wasn't too steep. And they had a film crew so they personally carried nothing aside from their own gear.
I enjoyed this. A good idea, a micro-adventure, available on our doorstep, without jet travel. The most “dangerous” species to worry about up in the North West Highlands of Scotland are the midges - they can drive you mad.
Anyone else feel at 1:00 they're riding too close to the edge of the carriageway? They're in a shared bus & cycle lane and there isn't enough space for a bus to pass them safely within the lane. By riding that far to the left, it could encourage someone to try. Personally, I'd position myself a good 1-1½ metres further right.
Love the ideas this is putting into my head. Strip away all the "stuff" you don't need and travel light, really light. Wonderful. Thank you Brompton for the pictures in my head and the plans already forming ...
Pootling along I have decided on doing the same, started selling stuff I don’t need and want to ride my Brompton to more remote locations. This is inspiring.
Wow! I do hope all those people who spend thousands on jet travel seeking adventure around the world do not see this, because this really will feel a tad silly and ripped off. Thank you for sharing 👍
When I was a college student fifteen years ago, I took this train and slowly took it. Speed is inversely proportional to romance, sometimes we don’t need too fast high-speed rail
I wonder what kind of boat he uses - does anyone know? Apart from this: Simply great project that makes me dream. At least I bought a Brompton Explore some days ago - no more excuses left!
@Alexander Bank your welcome. At 4:11 you can see a logo on the top Packraft laying upside down. I couldn’t remember where I saw it but it’s not a MRS packraft, it’s a “Alpacka Raft” it looks like one is their classic model and the other could be the expedition model from the back on the river a few seconds earlier.
I love the video, and the concept (and the look of this bike!) but I notice the bikes had a number of extra bike-packing bags on them (2:30), that weren't being carried off the train (1:54). Did they really pack a boat, plus paddle, plus camping gear in a back pack and 28 litre front bag?
Have a look at this for another example of packrafts plus Bromptons - th-cam.com/video/e-Xsikg1TT4/w-d-xo.html - packrafts are amazingly compact. However, you are correct that making a film like this requires extra gear (drone, tripod, lenses blah blah) so we did have a friend following us in a van to carry some stuff. My aim though was to do a trip that would have been possible using only the bags you see in the film, had we not been making a film.
@@al_humphreys Thanks for the reply, and fair enough. The video is amazing, and I've since bought a packraft and am planning my first Brompton + rafting adventure. Thanks for the inspiration. Brompton's are amazing!

Visually and aurally stunning. Great wee film. Just wonderful.
Yes!! Please make more of these types of films! Love multimodal bicycle touring with the Bommies.
This was absolutely beautiful, well done! Got to say though, even out there in such an isolated place, I couldn't just leave my Brompton behind without constantly worrying it'd be stolen.
Haha. Same thought to me. Beautiful landscape but worried to go home without Brompton. Lol
I laughed out loud, it's so true damn
I’ve watched this SO many times. Completely inspired me to Brompton wild camp and start a channel. Amazing, thank you 🙏🏻
Me too😂😂
These videos are so well done. So beautiful , that they bring tears to my eyes . Thank-you .
A masterpiece....and an inspiration...very well done!
Was anyone watching Brompton while you walked up mountain ?
Wow. The quality of this video is amazing. So beautiful and interesting. Thank you.
Beautiful and inspiring! Thank you for creating it
Really wonderful film. So many of us aspire to do a trip just like this, unless we already have. Nice!
What a beautiful film. 👍

Fantastic film... great work!!!
beautiful video
The clip is so professional from the music, screen to your voice. It is really calm and intrigued clip to keep watching until the end.
We really appreciate that 🙌 So much top quality work goes into these videos, thanks for noticing!

Touched my soul - deeply - to tears
We just need a Brompton that turns into an inflatable boat 😂
Sin duda el mejor video publicado por Brompton Bikes, realmente espectacular. Mis felicitaciones.
So beautifully shot and executed trip. But the video feels like a commercial being too short. We need the feature length film. The planning. Arguing. Gear ideas. Etc. More!! 😬
Beautiful video 👌
Being a New Yorker, I was more worried about the bikes left behind, than with them climbing a hilly mount.
Haha
I was thinking the same lol
😂
this is beautuful, thanks you for this video!
Beautiful. My kind of an adventure i wanna do one day!
Just bought a Brompton C Line. Loving it. Big fan of Al H too. #microadventure!

Buddies, beautiful scenery and Bromptons! Yes, an amazing trip indeed. Thanks for watching!

I've actually visited a Brompton dealer today, planning to purchase 2 bikes. The waiting list though is currently 1 year! 😳

Really enjoyed your video thanks 🎸 what model brompton are you using please, and did you upgrade it?

Tremendo!
Mi avete fatto sognare. 🙏
Should've carried the sage Bromptons up
and _ridden_ them down.
Who worked the drone & other cameras?
Very inspiring ❤️❤️❤️

Amazing !
Nice life cool live...!!
Why does the video show you changing trains at Tain station (Platform 1864 restaurant)? You would not have needed to get off there.
When I was a college student fifteen years ago, I took this train and slowly took it. Speed is inversely proportional to romance, sometimes we don’t need too fast high-speed rail
Beautifully done. Can you provide any links for the inflatable boat?
Seems like a ALPACKA - Scout. Don’t know for sure.
Thanks!
Google 'Alpacka Packraft'
Very cool indeed!
how is the build integrity and stability when cycling?
Genial !
Currently listening to his audible book Biking around the 🌎
Love it
I wonder what kind of boat he uses - does anyone know? Apart from this: Simply great project that makes me dream. At least I bought a Brompton Explore some days ago - no more excuses left!
Hey Alexander my most educated guess would be it looks a lot like a MRS Mircoraft or some other model from MRS.
@@darthbela9410 Thanks a lot, great help!
