Please keep making these tutorials. They are, hands down, the best on TH-cam. I love how there is no note-for-note bullshit . I also like how you stop and give a little example of whats being played, like the 'Jimi' chord thing. That is helpful.
Excellent riffs. Joe Walsh really rocked it in the James Gang. This was a time when you could take a great riff and make it into a memorable song that last forever.
I wanted a little refresher on this song, and gave your video a try. Very nicely done. I agree with all of the previous (favorable) comments. The slo mo is helpful, and you don't get bogged down in a lot of unnecessary talk. Thanks--Good Job!
Thank You So Much for giving these lessons! It's next to impossible to decipher complex riffs in tab. Please keep doing the slow version. It is extremely helpful to us learning to play guitar.
I just watched a lesson that sounded ok but it wasn't quite it. Glad I watched your lesson. It's spot on because I just watched Joe Walsh on Guitar Centers Sessions. Thank you, great video...
Thanks Dude, like your lesson.Worked great for me. I really don't need the note for note chord explanation. Just loved the slow version thing. Worked great at rehersal.
Incredibly helpful, even to a guy as marginally talented as myself. By marginally talented, I mean your "slow tempo" seems damn fast as I try to keep up at first. :) Subscribed and thanks for doin these videos.
I like your style in studying a given area (riff, etc.), you don't break it down, so much, that, much just gets lost in the translation. Good, speed, in your demonstration.
O-KAAAY this is pretty great! Thank you for the lesson Andy. IMHO there are songs like Funk #49 and too many others to mention 'natch!, that are among those great songs that happen to include a MONSTER riff for the ages that makes you want to learn guitar in order to be able to play it!! Me? Funk #49? Hmmmm STILL learning....
Whoa, this is a workout for us novices! ("I got blisters on me fingers...!") Thanks, Andy. Now if you would just show us the "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" licks from "The Bomber", I'd be a really happy camper. (Yes, I know there are clips on YT showing that, but they're a little incomplete and Andy is the Man, so there.)
Andy, great lesson. I have been watching all of your lessons, and can now play a few of the songs. Can you do Judas Priests Living After Midnight? That is one I cam working on now, and would enjoy seeing that one taught by you.
@@aabb3340 If I'm not mistaken, one position bypasses the capacitor entirely (wide open, bright tone), one has a normal value, Tele-style capacitor, and one has an ultra-dark capacitor for mellow, jazz-style tones.
Great job, though Joe plays the descending released bend with the pick and fingers (hybrid picking). The middle finger plays the percussive first note and the pick plays the second note which sounds as you release. Great job otherwise.
Thanks so much, Andy! You rock!!!
Who the heck dislikes this? It's a free guitar lesson!
69 non- guitarists?
People who found it hard to understand or just not very useful
People that don’t sleep all day. Fucking weirdos.
All the legends
The best lesson of this song on the web - kudos.

Joe can/could play a mean guitar. He did things that most other folks had not done.
cool lick, thanks for the lesson
Great!
Now this is a proper guitar lesson. All other teachers take note of how this instructor didn’t spend 30 minutes of the video talking about nonsense.
Every time I watch these damn videos I just end up wanting another guitar. Beautiful tone.
Easily one of the best riffs of all time, thank you proguitarshop!
Thank you Andy!!! :-)
The Bomber!!!
Hands up if just can't stop air Bass playin!!
great video. Andy is the man!
nice tone andy
I've always like this riff. Thanks Andy, another great job.
This is probably like the easiest lesson that I've seen it just it is a lot more clear than any other ones thanks
Love the riff of the day
Dear lord I want that Esquire bad!! Gorgeous!!

thanks for the really clear explanation of #49!!
Thanks for adding the tabs to these lessons

Alright! Thank you, PGS crew!
AWESOME RIFF.... GREAT SONG. THANKS!!
Seriously hoping you do more lesson videos in the future. They''re helpful and inspiring.
That is a beautiful guitar.
Such an underrated song and band! Great job!

"Hendrix chord", that made my day
Sounds great!
Nice Andy, thanks for the lessen. I was trying this song a few months back and could not get it. With your lesson , I got it. Thanks!
awesome thanks
Welcome back. I love these. For one pick-up, that Esquire has some balls
nice demo great visual dont need talk ...cheers
Keep up your TH-cam tutorials. I get bored with the note for note lessons. You can learn faster with the tutorials you provide. Thank you very much.
Holy crap, thank you so much for this Andy! I have trying to figure this song out on my own for ages but could not get the chords right, YOU ROCK!
joe walsh is one of 'em
I just watched a lesson that sounded ok but it wasn't quite it. Glad I watched your lesson. It's spot on because I just watched Joe Walsh on Guitar Centers Sessions. Thank you, great video...
great job
Hell yeah!!! You should invite special guest Phil X on this one! ;)
Great job like the note for note....thanks keep it coming
Thank you...
This is one of those songs i always meant to look at-but never got to it-thanks Andy, appreciated mate! (I loved the 'Cinnamon Girl' lesson)
Dude...I want to marry that guitar...or devour it. :)
great
Also - you analyze a riff, as if, you were just learning it, yourself. You 'feel it out', as, you go; good style!
I already know how to play this, I just wanted to hear Andy play it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thank you!!
Thank you!
you can almost taste the tone, juicy.
ahh !! encore encore !!!!!!
Whoa, i've never thought that phil x has so many fans :D
You got yourself a sub ! Cool channel !!!!
You guys should make lessons on andy's improvisations in guitar pedal reviews! So many people would watch those...
it is.
lol - you're right. I can kind of hear it. Never gonna listen to this song the same now.
Thanks Dude, like your lesson.Worked great for me. I really don't need the note for note chord explanation. Just loved the slow version thing. Worked great at rehersal.
That guitar is sooo cool its got lie 1 pickup on it and sounds so swishy :)

All this tele goodness gives me a craving for Cropper. Any chance Andy could give us the rundown on Chicken Pox from Booker T and the MG's?

I hear that song everywhere. How is it 'underrated'?
that tele though… (y)
It would be nice if tabs were downloadable or printable from the PG site.
Great tutorials..!!! I Kno I'm not the only one wondering about the source of the drum tracks (Sounds Goooood)
PLEASE DO THE BOMBER!!!!!!!!!!!
Lesson actually starts at 1:50
Andy, great lesson.
I have been watching all of your lessons, and can now play a few of the songs.
Can you do Judas Priests Living After Midnight?
That is one I cam working on now, and would enjoy seeing that one taught by you.
Sounds like Footloose!
I apologize if this sounds n00b, but anyone else think of the chorus of "Footloose" when they first heard this? Is there any connection?
remember don't use the bottom of your finger but the side for the bar type chords.
What about that sketchy little break after the cow bell solo?
If you're upset and need to chill, just listen to Andy's Funk 49 slow tempo...
People who sell guitar lessons of course :D
At 0:06, it sounds like "Footloose, footlose!"
God, I hate that song.
Haha.
Please explain the riffs, tabs are too difficult to get them from...
Spend time working on it.
where do the drums sounds come from?
Where are the pickups?
Its an esquire
Only has a bridge pickup its in the metal tray his hand is resting on
Strange. It has a blade pickup selector switch. In case you want to mute the guitar immediately without any hum?

show that second lead break down (around 2:30 in the song) & you've got a sub
How about a cranked up combo amp?
Trolls, in the digital world right?
man, like phil x was not enough
Great job, though Joe plays the descending released bend with the pick and fingers (hybrid picking). The middle finger plays the percussive first note and the pick plays the second note which sounds as you release. Great job otherwise.
Andy, what are you using for the drum tracks and backing tracks?
Yep-it is one he always trots out....
do I hear cissy strut ?
wow charlie sheen plays pretty good guitar
Yup, same scale.
@ 2:50 ish tab says do a slde back from 5th frt on the 6th string not the 5th string that's why it does not sound right
Footloose sounds like this
Hehe, yea :P
The other guitarist in my band (who's been playing for 8ish) can't do those either.
