About 20 years ago my hubby (ex now) and myself were at the end of our rope with all the addicts and arses stealing from our workshop! They stole 160,000.00 worth of antibody fabrication equipment while we were out of town for the day. And before and after that there was alot of stuff stolen from our wrecking yard. The police couldn't/wouldn't do much and when they did, the courts would let them out with probation! So my ex set a coyote trap( it was an antique one we had hanging on our back porch my ex had alot of antique traps for decoration, we didn't use them on animals) but he set it in the workshop under some newspaper and woodshavings. The way the entrance was you had to walk into a narrow entry before entering another door into the shop. We always used the big doors to go in and out but you needed a key to open the big metal doors from the outside, once inside you could just push a button to open those doors. So we went out on about 3 weeks later and when we got back the next day, the newspaper and shavings were everywhere, there was a little blood and the trap was thrown outside and had definitely been tripped!! And nothing was gone and we didn't have any more problems for quite a long time!!! By then there was security systems that were for houses and affordable!! Probably wouldn't get away with it these days because as we know thieves and druggies have more rights then law abiding citizens!

I think Chance, the guy from the accident, was just trying to open a glass storm door to knock on the interior door. I've done the same thing, because knocking on the storm door isn't always loud enough to be heard. The interior door carries sound better. The way he backed up, and was willing to explain his reason to be there, seems legitimate. Some people are really not trying to commit crimes, but looking for help. That said, being cautious is always wise.

    • @DuckingFoxx

@@DuckingFoxx There should be police report, so I agree with you about that. The names wouldn't be availabe, but the incident would be recorded.
If the accident happened late at night, the police wouldn't have gone back asking questions unless someone had died because of it. It would be a hit and run, and left at that.
Differing districts handle things in various ways, though. If I needed answers and the police had more important cases to work on, I'd be going door to door too.
My feelings don't make me right about this situation, but that's my perspective.

@@DuckingFoxx I agree with OP. I looked at the video and he didn't pause for a second after noticing the camera. Usually someone looking to due harm would have frozen for a second or two after noticing it. It really could have been just a glass door and those things barely make a sound when knocked on, unless you bam on it.
From my view he's knocking and looking upwards which might indicate he's hitting the house itself as to not bam on whatever is in front of him. As a victim of theft myself, police don't consider your crime massive enough to warrant a deep investigation. Usually you're just put on a file and have hope something turns up which could be weeks or even months.
I try to be careful in how I view these videos, because many times it can be just paranoia on the home owners end. But that's just a symptom of living in a society where empathy is decaying.

And they made a decent wage. All that's gone along with the pollution. My Dad drove a streetcar & cleared $400 a month. Doesn't sound like much but with some side jobs, he supported my Mom & five kids. I remember our food bill at the store was $100 per month. We had a huge garden, apple & peach trees, grapes, blackberries & raspberries. My Mom & Aunt put up preserves, froze veggies for winter, made wines & beer. As for our house, my Dad & his navy buddies built it via the G.I. bill after the war. I remember it was worth approx. $20,000 in the early '60s. A house for $78,000 would be in the rich neighborhoods. Sidenote: The cost of living is much cheaper here than most places in the US.

Come on PEOPLE! Y’all need to be more diligent about thieves stealing your packages. In these times, it’s gotten worse. Y’all know it or some of you wouldn’t have the cameras. if a person has stolen from you a few (not a couple), but a few times then you are giving them the opportunity to KEEP stealing from you, and when it comes to groceries…it’s unfortunately going to happen, especially in some areas. Make those sirens go off. I purchased a few cameras due to a neighbor kept letting his dog poop near my house. Even with them gone, I still keep my cameras on, especially the notifications. It can be annoying, but just two days ago I caught 3 teens checking out one of my neighbor’s SUV to either break in or steal the car. If I hadn’t had my notifications to ping me I wouldn’t have been able to call the police so quickly. For most of these I wouldn’t mind a dog coming out and going after these people. I understand it can also be according to your internet provider, but seriously, some of these victims should be able to catch a person in the act. Also, maybe try putting some animal poo in a box and leaving it out for them, maybe that will deter them. Everyone stay safe. AND LOCK EVERYTHING UP!

Most of the crimes in Phila, have occurred in South Phila, and North Phila. North Phila has always had a horrible rep, I used to think South Phila, was OK, but here lately they have been on the news on a regular basis for disturbances, which has been caused by the new people moving in, which is where it usually stems from, because the long time neighbors don't make trouble, I see this where I am.

Without the neighbor having his security camera. Chris Watts wouldn't have been caught after murdering his pregnant wife and taking his 2 beautiful baby girls to murder them. That's why I have a Ring doorbell.

Not only do I keep door locked, but I never open the door if I don't know them. I talk to them through the door.

This guy with his shirt over his face, which incidentally was not covered very well at all.
That makes him be the epitome of "Stupid is as Stupid does ".

If these videos are designed to make people hate people I'd say you're successful. I certainly trust no one anymore and it's obvious addiction to booze and other drugs is rampant.

The 2nd one: place definitely needs some upkeep.
3rd one: Looks like they left a TV on the side of the house
4th: The mask is pointless if it doesn't cover your face.

I leave my gate unlocked and if you open it too far which is not very far, we can hear very clear when someone makes the gate make contact against a under cover bell hanging from the siding. 5 AK users who live in my home ready to kill any mf trespassing no questions ask. Nobody should take this lightly.

U know those shipping labels on packages. Well if you call Amazon can they track it to wherever the thief has it? Do they at least replace it or refund you?

On some of these the writing is so small that I cannot possibly read them on my phone .
When they put up the ones that are hard to read why don't they make that part bigger so we can see what it says .

I didn't have cameras for the moment, but always home and share car with wife. She left one day and somebody came up to the house, tried a window first so I waited by the unlocked door and covered him in a gallon of Kilz primer when he opened it. The oil based. He then found a gun in his face after he cleared his eyes so he could start running away. It was a good day.

The two dog chasing that poor cat is really sad! Those look like pit bulls so they’ll probably kill and tear the cat apart if they were able to catch it! Please people keep your cats inside!! 😢
