- It is time to do the one city deity challenge but we will what is considered the worst civilization in civ 6, Georgia. The only thing good that Georgia has going for them are those sweet, sweet, walls.... or the golden age dedication bonus. We start off this game thinking that it will be a one city domination challenge. Struggling to find resources, we changed victory conditions and pulled off a turn 183 religious victory! #Civ6 #OneCityDeity #InquisitiveOtter

True, the golden age bonus is really nice though. Other than that.... well the walls can really help with a tourism victory. Double envoys is nice, but it’s pretty difficult to pull off on higher difficulties.
@@InquisitiveOtter Like you said, her bonuses are too situational for Deity and you need a better unique building to keep up with the AI.
Relatively new player and only civ I have won on deity with. Multiple times. Must be coincidence
@@InquisitiveOtter It's really not. Get papal primacy on your religion, which the AI almost never goes for, then slot in diplomatic league. Now your first envoy counts as 4, which allow you to suz empty city states with a single envoy, plus apply pressure to every city around it, and spend fewer envoys on city-states with foreign envoys. Couple that with Apadana and Kilwa and you'll basically have massive bonuses with no effort. And it works just fine for one city challenges too if you build a diplo quarter with a chancery and a consulate, since every single city-state you meet will be giving you the first two bonus yields to the chancery as soon as you send a single envoy to it, you'll be getting all the extra yields from the consulate since every city-state will have a minimum 4 envoys, plus extra yields from kilwa once you suz them.

ive always liked georgia, and havent had issues playing her. dont know why people in general think shes shit. she has a very obvious playstyle. and now with owls of minaerva, and the dramatic ages mode, duh.
I like this long type of videos, i miss it soo much.
Also if u want to suffer, do a domination with france only using loyalty pressure, i can only do it on king difficulty and by turning off the culture victory.

Hey Firaxis, watch this video: Highest difficulty, the human player founds only one city and wins in turn 183 (if I've seen correctly)? Isn't this the ultimate proof that the AI is completely worthless?
The AI is bad but this is a small map with very few opponents so it's not really indicative of anything
I'd like to see a "max" deity video, max map size, max opponents, max city states. can't be done. but what the hell do i know. maybe someones already posted a vid.

... I think I'm missing something, how could Norway have a heroic age in classical era? 🤔 I looked up their unique traits, I have never played them so maybe they get heroic instead of golden ages, but no 🤔🤔🤔
Heroic Ages occur when you get a golden age after a dark age, and instead of a golden age, you get a heroic age
@@Civlover10 Getting an heroic age in the classical era is impossible because you can't get a dark age ancient era. Everyone starts the ancient era as a regular era, so it's only possible to get golden, dark, or regular classical eras.

Yeah. Walls and one ranged unit can defend the city against any AI attack. I do like how they add tourism in the late game though, since that kind of makes sense.

I feel like if religious victory wasn't one of the worst victory types in the game, I feel Georgia wouldn't be that bad with like the religious belief that gives 200 pressure from envoys.
Not placing the hanging garden one tile up to get a +6 theater square triggered me alright.

Norway is one of the worst?!? Yeah, they are really strong at pillaging which is probably one of the strongest mechanics of the game. Well, I guess that they are not too great on a pangea maps. @@InquisitiveOtter Well, you have to admit that your starting location was kinda lucky. You could have been surrounded by AI players, but instead you only really had to worry about Norway. The rest was too far away.
Oh, yeah 100%. Not building one military unit the whole game in deity is something that I’ve never done before. Even Norway was pretty far away and we had a city state to block the way. This game was weird.
I have not tried the one city challenge yet. Just finished winning with every city on deity. Currently playing as China and I am doing the soothsayer flood trick with the Great Bath!

@@InquisitiveOtter I had not realized about the burning forests. Had made some huge areas of forests in a tundra as well for national parks and they got burnt down three times to turn those cities into production Kings. Will need to burn some forests to the ground now!

I had a game like this one a little bit ago, i founded a religeon then out of the fow next turn came three apostles and bam my religion was gone lol.
hope you dont take this as flaming, but since you obviously do not play with religion much, the obvious placement for your holy site and pantheon choice should be the desert tile pantheon, and drop it in the upper left side of your city and you would have a +4 holy site on a tile that would otherwise be useless that would then make work ethic appealing. river goddess was a great choice since you already had your holy site on the river. the river goddess/feed the world is my current favourite combo. it turns a super charged neighbourhood that you unlock at the start of the game.
another mistake made with your religion was when you improved it, you should have gone for the building that adds another charge to your religious units. it also adds 3 faith directly, and another +3 faith because you have 6 envoys in a religious city state.
i almost always get a religion in every game. they are too strong, if there isnt a combo of religious stuff that synergizes with your civ, just go river goddess/feed or if you can get high adj holy sites, grab dat work ethic. i know religions are scoffed at as being shit in deity, but i do just fine with them. i have only ever once went for a religious victory, and that was only because the original plan of testing a owls diplo victory was sabotaged later in the game by the ai's i was allied with sacking all the city states. i just love using religions to enhance, not pursue a victory with. can either synergize with you civ, or your land, or use it to shore up things you are severely lacking.

lol. I agree that it is bad. Actually even picking it as one of the civs is kind of a joke. Nothing against the actual country. Its just that it wasn't any kind of big empire.
Im amazed that the diety vikings didnt declare war on you with those huge grievances penalties and your complete lack of a navy. You think they would want your holy city after you converted them.

I guess that I did say that they weren’t the best but we did get a turn 183 victory!!! Though, we hardly used any of her unique abilities..... It’s still a fun Civ to play.
@@InquisitiveOtter idk what it is abouy Georgia but I tend to to get sub 200 turn religious games with them a lot. Maybe it's the easier to achieve Golden eras.

Religious victories are the worst victory in the game
Diplo is so much more of a pain.
All victories become pretty dull at the end when you’re so far ahead. Score victory has got to be the worst, I’ve never had a game last 500 turns.
@@InquisitiveOtter Thankfully there's no achievement for score victory, though I did one once just to see what happens.
Set game length to 1 turn, Maori as my opponent, founded my city and ended turn & game. Cheesy, but no way I'd seek a score victory otherwise.
