Regarding the comfort, you need to twist the iem a bit more forward. Regarding the EST, there is an additional transformer inside the IEM, as per their website. So it's an actual EST (a Sonion EST65DA01). Electrostatic is high voltage/low current and thus can have modest power requirements. In all I find the best way to describe this IEM as very natural.
what i appreciate about the person is his hold on the audio knowledgebase and translation to NLP. but the most wow thing about him that he does not get swayed with market hype.
This man has the best IEM and DAC reviews on the internet. I've been watching for about two months after I got my first IEMs. I have Truthear Zero Red. I'm looking to upgrade, I'm considering this pair. I'm also upgrading my DAC to the Onix Alpha that he just reviewed, but my local shop is sold out of this model. Waiting for them to restock as their price is about $20 lower than the others here in Vietnam.
The comfort issue may be specific to the individual as I, myself find the Mega5 to be the most comfortable IEM I've tried/owned. Other reviews have also said similar things. Thanks for the review. Very accurate to how I would describe it as well.
Good review. Useful. I was considering the Penon 10 th Anniversary until these came along. Throw in the Io Volare and the decision becomes harder. Can't demo any of them and certainly cannot afford them all. Maybe I ought to stop watching reviews and be happy with the collection I have.
Thanks!. Does not matter if the tuning is Harman, neutral or V or any sound curve, they can be analytical or not depending on how good they resolve macro/micro details and how fast they handle transient speed for different sound frequencies
Nice review Andy as always but I want to make you a correction without offending you.The right word is - crisp - not crips..😉 I m thinking order a custom set but the price is a bit high but my small ears don t offer me many alternatives (FA19..)
If you like this. Try the Thieaudio Prestige LTD..... Basically the endgame version of the Mega5EST. It has better separated low end, more texturing, more detail, more refined. Mids are again, more detailed and refined. Treble is more detailed, more refined. It stages larger, images better, and has better separation
Mega 5 EST is tuned closer to neutral sound and less energetic with upper Mids all the way to Treble compared to EM10. Simply put, EM10 offers a bit more vibrant sound while Mega 5 EST offers something a bit more relaxed
Hello Andy, I wanted to ask if you recommend the Apple Type-C to 3.5mm dongle. I currently have four IEMs, all under $200, and I was planning get iFi Go Link, but heard good praise about Apple
I personally find Apple dongle being adequate but if you want to get better resolution and crisper imaging, Venture Electronics ODO at just $5 does it better, and a bit more powerful too. Also you can consider FiiO KA11 which is the most powerful in this form factor, on top of being way better tuned than Apple dongle. iFi GO Link if you want warm and even smoother sound at the expense of resolution
Better? to me no. They are tuned differently to cater for different preferences. I like MP145 a lot more for being a traditional V sound curve with amazing resolution and soundstage. Mega 5 EST is more suited for Harman fans
Each have their own advantages, their own characteristics. I personally love the sound of Shure KSE1500 IEM and then also SIVGA Nightingale which I use regularly everyday. For headphones I use either Sennheiser HD600/HiFiMan Sundara/AR5000/T40RPMK3 depending on moods, each offering different sound experiences and different usage comfort factor
Do you do the thing where you use one hand to lift up the ear on the other side of your head (relative to your hand)? Otherwise I don't get what I would call a comfortable or good seal.
Yes I do. I pull my ear tips from one side to relieve the sound pressure and also pull the lobe to bed them in. Seal factor depends on ear shape too, some shapes don't seal well
What 5 drivers? It's kinda a car with normal car and turbo.. I already have 3 driver's iem.. it's awesome... Now 5 driver? Maybe awesome sounds..but the price😢😢..
And now a review for the endgame iem for a mid-game price plz - the DUNU Studio SA6 Mk2 and the HIP DAC 3 which is my combo 😂 Why you may ask? Because your Dongle-Reviews are top-notch and your iem reviews are not far behind (only thing I miss are technical details for nerds like in your dongle reviews 😂).
Thanks, doing both IEMs and dongles already taking a lot of time, on top doing headphones and DAPs and even BT devices now lol. I just gonna grab whichever items readily accessible to me for reviews

Wow Andy! Your videos are getting ethereally smooth and beautifully analytical.
You rock bro 🤟❤
Rock on! 🤘
I was waiting for this review!!!! Thanks Andy!

It's a beautiful IEM Andy. I love how smoothly the Mega 5EST handles those details.

Thanks for the support. I hope you will get them soon at good prices. You have a great weekend there!
Save up and get the new 7Hz Five ($150). If the reviews are correct you won't be sorry.
@@howardroark3670 7hz Five is a lot cheaper than these. I will look into them.

yes i second this; it is indeed the most comfortable IEM I have (and this is coming from a z1r)
the divinus velvet tips are amazing for the mega 5est
@@CsTruth I use the same combo and they basically disappear in my ears
Another good review abang Andy! Looking forward to more.
Tq so much!
Thanks, those iem are teasing for months.... With your review I think I'm going for it 😅
My pleasure 😁
I've had this iem for over a month now, have to agree with how relatable to HD650, and also being an all rounder. Good 👍 Stuff .
Indeed
These are an amazing sounding set.
Great review thanks Andy!
No problem 👍
Terima kasih, add to cart teruss

up to date its most hyped set of IEM's I almost bought it but at the end decided to go with mest mk2, less boring & more exciting set
Fantastic review, Andy! This is a really beautiful set! A little expensive but you get what you pay for. 💯
Thanks James
comparing to really expensive set its nothing
Never clicked so fast!
🤣 Thanks
Ahhh the Mega fest! This should be a good one! Love your channel Andy!
Hey hey thanks!
This one is on my radar for sure!

Thanks. True indeed there's so many to choose from now, with competency in tuning getting better through experience
Excellent review Andy! I heard its harman tuned. Can Harman tuning be analytical too?

I like they way he says it.
Thanks, I almost got these. But I mostly listen to hip-hop, rock/metal.

Does dongles or dacs in general improve sound quality of car speakers? Is it worth investing in a good dac along with speakers
Car speakers? hard to tell since I don't even have a car now to test, lol. Hopefully someone who have done this can help with the answers
I'm waiting for your review of Sony IER -Z1R
I wish for that too
Great review Andy, considering the price I think I’ll take a pass atm. I need my mid bass slam. Cheers 🥂
No worries. And thanks

@@AndyAudioVaultOk , Thank you
Hi Andy,
In general, do you prefer to listen to Headphones or to IEMs? And why?
Thanks 🙏
When I am sitting at my desktop station, I prefer the comfort of headphones and when I am moving around the house or outside, always IEMs
@@AndyAudioVault So sound wise there's no advantage to one of them? Best vs Best that in your collection?

bang...compare dgn dunu sa6 for gaming (rainbow six siege)....yg mana lagi ok?
Tak pernah try SA6 so tak tau camna dia compare
no measurements?
I don't do measurements. Thanks
Against the penon 10 th anniversary and Variations it should be tame
how does it compare to qt-x?
QTX offers more resolution and transient speed, less Harman-ish

💲Who buys $500.00 dollar IEMs?? Am i the only poor person on TH-cam F.M?
Wealthy individuals. 😢
People who was previously on the $350 iem ballpark? Once you get the taste of it, its kinda hard to go back to regular tws and budget earphones. 😅
People who make a decent amount of money and prioritize where they want to spend their money.
Brother, in the audiophile business $500 is cheap. Get out there and you'll know what I mean.
I bought prestidge LTD … it’s $1300
Another great review. Thanks for doing that.
