Once again a very comprehensive and useful review. I was contemplating the EA1000 until the EM10 showed up. Now I think I will have to save a little longer and get the EM10.
Got the Supermix 4 a few days ago. Started my IEM journey with TruthEar Zero OG. At first, I was not that blown away because the bass on the Zero is actually plentiful and punchy which I like. But after a few hours of A-B comparisons it's not even close. These are significantly higher fidelity in all areas. The sounds have much more texture to it, I'm guessing its the planar because it reminds me of my Edition XS. I love the forward vocals on this without sounding shouty. Busier tracks do not muddy at all. It's clear, clean, crisp, and balanced and scales great with lots of power. Overall an extremely worthy upgrade from $50 -> $150 price point. I do wonder what the EM10 sound like though. I am confident telling someone just getting into the hobby and have the budget to skip straight to SM4 instead of the budget options. I watched Dune 2 with these and it was immaculate. Really happy with them!
got sm4 2 weeks ago. its now my go-to iem. Now I'm slowing down my iem journey. got i wanted. em6l and sm4. for my traveling iem. it still acoutune rs1
I just got SM4 few days a go it is a very good IEM for the price (absolute steal for the price) it is slightly warmer & smoother. Only thing is it is source picky could not drive it with my laptop right now I'm using a dongle dac.
I have simgot 500 lm and managed to tune different then what originally came , now it’s so smooth and detailed more bass and improved stage and images just doing 3 things on it … 1) i opened vent hole that air goes to driver 2) i narrow the tune hole by using silicon tips on brass one , 3) used velvet tips …. Don’t need to change cable because it is best cable already. I wasted on money buying 4 type of cable and no different on sound … i think now my 500 lm sounds very expensive for sure ..
Also forgot one more thing every nozzle comes with filter just remove filter from black nozzle and add to gold one .. results more natural smooth high with great separation and image… make sure just burn it 1 hour and feel the difference.. i was thinking for upgrades and to supermix after heard the sound test no way it’s spice too, but i prefer my simgot 500lm ..
@@AndyAudioVault came to you via Venture Electronics but stuck around because our tastes are remarkably similar when it comes to gear. I LOVE the A5000 and the SIE. Good luck with everything
FA19 is practically the highest scoring IEMs in AndyAudioVault rated IEMs so it is superior to anything else (except Shure KSE1500) when it comes to absolute technicalities, resolution and imaging, but I would say EM10 does a bit better with timbre
Congrats on your 10k sub achievement! Two of your videos really helped me in choosing my next gear (KA13 last December and the most recent Onix Alpha). Cheers!
Another great video. Congratulations on 10k subs. I enjoy your videos and your style very much. Would you put supermix 4 above dunu falcon ultra in terms of comfort soundstage and naturalness?
Thanks. When it comes to natural/neutral, I believe Falcon Ultra is more transparent and accurate hence it is neutral, but it does appear a bit dry in Etymotic sort of style, which means SuperMix4 timbre is more organic (but colored), a bit more energetic. Soundstage width about similar, just that SuperMix4 is taller and more holographic, Falcon Ultra being a single DD, offers traditional stereo experience. Comfort wise, depends really on your ears, but I think Falcon Ultra is slimmer and I feel more comfy with it due to the shape of my ears
Thanks, not likely. With tons of IEMs I have, I keep going back to SIVGA Nightingale and Etymotic ER2XR. Don't get me wrong, this is a very personal thing and there's tons of amazing IEMs I have listened to, yet those two just clicks to my heart
Congratulations! Your reviewed are helpful, detailed wmd enjoyable. And you deliver them with a depth of knowledge, maturity and enthusiasm. Thank you -from London UK. As for the Simgot EM10 how does it compare with the Dunu Davinci in your opinion? (I have the Davinci and the Simgot EA500lm and enjoy them both for different reasons).
Just got my Supermix 4 and have to pair with an Apple USB dongle dac on Android until my Ve Odo or Onix Alpha come in. I found that you can use the Wavelet app to EQ and fix gain so that the volume isn't nerfed.
Congrats Mr. ANDY 10 K subs...btw, i see your IEMs Rating chart...you already added this 2 IEM that you're review...but, im little curious, in chart you put Tanchjim Origin has higher score...is Origin really better than Simgot EM 10 ?
Thanks. If you look closer at the rating sheet, you can see where Origin will have some upper hand, but we are talking about 2 points overall difference here among top rated IEMs. So it's quite closely matched between those two
Hi Andy, what IEM is comparable to Senn HD 650 or have similar signature to Senn HD 650, because i use HD 650 and love it very much, now I try to find more compact IEM to bring it out. Thanks before. Btw Congrats for 10k subs
Thanks! SIVGA Nightingale is what I consider as similar to HD650, Mids centric with some solid Midbass and not so much emphasis on Subbass, they both sounding natural and velvety smooth
You just saved me $400. lol. I was going to get it but since it is so close to the MP145, I am going to save my money for the Mega 5 EST or the FiiO FA19...
@residentzero That may be so but the FA19 has better overall properties. The Simgot EM10 is not good enough for me to pay $400-500 as opposed to paying double the price for higher properties. At this point, I have bought enough IEMs and a headphone based on Andy's reviews that I trust it to make a decision fitting for me.
@@AndyAudioVault thanks Andy take care ! I already own HIDIZS MP145 thanks to you but I was looking if there's anything more holographic around 200 usd .
Hi, thanks for the review, my main headphones are focal clear og and grado sr325e but due to the temps I use also simgot ew200. For the same price which one do you recommend between simgot ea1000 and the new supermix 4? I d prefer a more neutral sounding iem with no boomy bass
Thanks. EA1000 is aligned with EW200 tuning, meaning they edge closer to neutral target, SuperMix4 to my hearing sounded enhanced/colored (but in a good way)
I currently have the EM6L, would you say that the SM4 is an upgrade or not? And if I were to choose between the SM4 and the Truthear Nova, which should I go for if I prefer to more jpop, electronic and female vocal tracks?
Overall Volare is tuned closer to neutral target with some boost in the lower frequency, in comparison EM10 would appear a bit more colored. I would even say transparency is a little more evident on Volare, but when it comes to fun element, EM10 sounds a little more exciting. Both I would regard as equally smooth, closely matched
The choices will depend on matters more to you, M1P offers the richest full bodied analog sound, UA4 offers crisp analytical resolution, and DC04Pro will offer wide open airy sound - pick the one that suits your preference the most
@@AndyAudioVault I just ordered ONIX Alpha XL1 based on your review! If another viewer didn't mention it, I would've missed that awesome price/performance!
Both of them excel at layering and separation, and both are circular type of holographic soundstage, be it for Rock or any type of fast/complex composition
Not really an upgrade, more like different flavouring of sound because P5 is tuned to be a bit heavier with Midbass and Subbass and overall less energetic than Supermix 4
All three of them really great IEMs, SuperMix4 being the most energetic/bold with upper Mids and EA500LM a bit more of balanced, closer to neutral target, S12Pro being a magnetic planar offer fast transient speed, slightly brighter. At the end of the day, can't go wrong with any one of them, you just need to figure out which sound characteristics you prefer more over the other
Hydro with switch Off, Off, ON, ON would be similar sounding to EM10 up to 90%. SuperMix4 is a bit more energetic with upper Mids all the way to Treble
