His Bête Noire music was so highly produced, it's very impressive that he and his musicians recreated that highly produced studio sound live - and did it so well - arguably better than the studio recordings. Pure magic. It's clear he's a perfectionist - and insisted on that high standard for both himself and his musicians.
@lubayart He did perform "The Right Stuff" on Saturday Night Live to promote Bête Noir. Johnny Marr was playing guitar that night. He also performed "Kiss and Tell".
A perfectionist, doing his best to reproduce exactly what we listen to with the studio versions. And he sweats! You know you're getting VFM when your artist sweats just for you!
I was there in Montreal forum 1988 with my ex-girlfriend and my recently deceased sister. The only rock show with her but what a one! Thank you M. Ferry and always love the Comme des Garçons jacket you wore.
The 80’s were the last decade before the Tech world invaded our senses. Waiting by the phone for a call while spinning an LP and picking seeds outta your bag of Columbian
Sixth row in Poughkeepsie theatre. Awesome show form the staging to the energy of the songs. Tore the place down. Played "chosen one" last so everyone was on their feet. Positively tribal.
I can't believe this doesn't have more views. Thanks for the upload. I first became a fan of Bryan in 1987, and now in the last few years I keep adding to my CD collection and as I turn 55 yrs of age, this style of music becomes more popular to my ears despite my love for heavy metal.
Thank you for getting this back up! I own this DVD. Such a brilliant live performer (with Roxy & solo). You always expect to hear a saxophone somewhere when he's playing live! But this tour does not suffer from the lack of one. It's superb! Thanks you ♥
I KNOW QUITE A FEW RECORDS BY B. FERRY AND ROXY MUSIC. BUT I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT HE WOULD PERFORM SO WELL LIVE. THE BACKROUND SINGERS ARE AWESOME. KISS MY ASS BUT WHAT A GREAT CONCERT. I HAD PREVIOSLY SEEN B.F. LIVE IN GLASTONBURY ON TH-cam BUTPERSONALLY I LIKE THE "" BETE NOIRE"" TOUR BETTER.... BRILLIANT BAND AND A AWESOME FRONT MAN..... GREETINGS FROM GERMANY 👍❗
It is somewhat ironic that I was familiar with Roxy music. But, if it were not for a few of his songs on soundtracks, never would have listened to him. Slave to love in 9 1/2 weeks and kiss and tell in bright lights, big city are what got me to listen to him.
I was in Berlin in 1987 and then saw this tour in Santa Barbara, CA and what a total dichotomy. I saw the last Roxy Music show at the Forum in LA last night and this video brought me around almost first circle. I saw RM for the first time in 1979 and then 1982 with 8-9 Ferry shows and last night was the end of an era.
My beau and i had 6th row seats for this show in Milwaukee, and then we had this on VHS, i wonder how many nights we spent just reliving this concert and dancing the way we had at the show, such fun! i think that when we first had this VHS it was called "New Town". Thanks a gazillion for posting this
Great video! Very confusing with the images of Paris & Berlin. Then in the same song the musicians are wearing different outfits evidently from different shows except Ferry!
Fantastic music, not quite roxy , but hey times moved on, ferrys voice never sounded better , "casanova, " I miss that original really strong voice , weak now, , guess that's just age, sad, hes a legend
Never seen this before. but haven't been on the internet long...T Y so much for this❤..he's been one of my favourites since ROXY MUSIC...OOZES SEX APPEAL👋😮❤
ive loved bryan ferry and roxy music since the 70s,but this video i think has been ruined by american show boating musicians which i cant stand.a million miles from the great days of roxy music .sorry cant watch anymore time to switch off .
Quel sinistre imaginaire.

🙌👍
Cheers mate.
Thank you
Ferry certainly knows how to assemble a top class collection of musicians!!🎵👌🏾💢🎙🎶
Heard he's strict with his musicians onstage ,like Zappa Prince & Steely Dan were...show up on time -able to perform to 100% every show....
Including the obligatory poodle guitarist.🤣
@@Steffne2743 Was just thinking how he looks like Nancy Wilson from Heart about this time :-)
@@MattyHull24 ... and I've never seen such honest smiles as those from his onstage bandmates, must be enjoying a job well done!

but not "Right Stuff" - seems like there is no evidence this amazing song was ever played live.
@lubayart He did perform "The Right Stuff" on Saturday Night Live to promote Bête Noir. Johnny Marr was playing guitar that night. He also performed "Kiss and Tell".

@@lubayartApparently none of Ferry’s regular guitarists could play that part so he was dependent on Marr being available to play it himself.
@@Jeremy-i7c - make sense!
One of Ferry's best live concerts.
Best concert I’ve ever been to! DC in 1988.
A perfectionist, doing his best to reproduce exactly what we listen to with the studio versions. And he sweats! You know you're getting VFM when your artist sweats just for you!
I saw this same concert at the Greek theater in Los Angeles 1988. This man is the James Bond of Rock. Ultimate showman.
Inarrivabili bellissimo, specialmente le coriste spettecolari❤
Michelle Cobbs, Ednah Holt, Yanick Etienne
i love how he lets everyone shine. that is a maestro, outstanding
i still love this album
Incredible performance! What musicians and Bryan was at the top of his game.
🎉Wracaj Braian do Polski jesteś najlerzy i twoj zepsuł ❤

we 've lived such a wonderful 80's. so happy
The 80’s were the last decade before the Tech world invaded our senses. Waiting by the phone for a call while spinning an LP and picking seeds outta your bag of Columbian
Not all of us.
Bete noire fantastic album.
I love Ferry's Boys and Girls album.
So goddamn sexy and funky the whole way through...
Marvellous/ stellar musicianship!
Outstanding and brilliant 👏 👌 Byran is absolutely a true artist.
Ferry is Master of Ceremony!
I saw this performance as a teenager and can be seen in some of the shots. Mr F. firing on all cylinders! An exciting time and a great experience.
Absolutely loved this album
Boys and Girls is a masterpiece and to watch it all in concert thank’ you tube.❤
thank you! Amazing
Sixth row in Poughkeepsie theatre. Awesome show form the staging to the energy of the songs. Tore the place down. Played "chosen one" last so everyone was on their feet. Positively tribal.
It’s amazing the Berlin Wall fell a year later. I was there in 1987 and saw this show in Santa Barbara in 1988.
good god he and the group are so good time stands still immortal fantastic thank you xxxx

Dagster Blaster have you listened to his Roxy Music material? it's FABO!!!!
Thank you for getting this back up! I own this DVD. Such a brilliant live performer (with Roxy & solo). You always expect to hear a saxophone somewhere when he's playing live! But this tour does not suffer from the lack of one. It's superb! Thanks you ♥
Wow! Amazing!!, I’m speechless! What an incredible concert!!
The best tour and line up ever!
Agree 👍
That man is a tall talented tasty treat. Love him!
I saw this concert 29 October 1988 at Aucklands big Top. Still the best concert experience of my life
You are undoubtedly a very lucky person.
Thanks for the upload. Had this on VHS many years ago and came back to my mind today after 30+ years. So good to see again. Amazing performance
Class act right here!
I’ve already posted this in another video of this concert, but I’ll say it again 😅 this live version of Slave to Love is fucking incredible!
I have centuries searching for this masterpiece of live performance in good quality, thank you very much my friend, liked and subscribed!..
I had owned it on DVD. See if it's still available for purchase. Though, this is an excellent transfer of it.

Nope.. Thats NOT how I like to hear my Bogus Man! 🧐
