That's not something you would want to, or be able to, do with snubfighters piloted by close friends or family. What’s hilarious is that we have more advanced ships already in production (for almost 100 years in modern history). The 3 biggest examples are Teledyne-Ryan, Boeing, & Lockheed Martin: Skunkworks.
Played the FFG version of Star Wars. We had U-Wing for most of the players that I named Patrick U-Wing. We still lament our love for Patrick. I played a Xexto pilot that flew a HLAF-500 I called Dawnrazor. 70,000 credits, fast, and suited my needs as a thrill seeking starfighter pilot.
Another ship that's really underrated in my opinion and gets you a whole lot of bang for your buck is the Lancer class pursuit craft. For about 120000 credits, this thing is a real bargain as it comes with plenty of space, a class 2 hyperdrive and backup class 12, and is absolutely armed to the teeth with 2 anti personnel laser cannons, 2 medium laser cannons, and a dorsal mounted, tri laser turret. And lastly the icing on the cake is that pretty much everything on the lancer from the weapons to the engines is modular, allowing you to customize your Lancer to suit your needs.
Y wing for sure is the way to go. The stock y wing from the TCW has some amazing fuel efficiency and you could heavily modify it with that kind of price tag.
Not to mention it could have the bomb bays freed up for decent small cargo shipping. Good for your low costs, secure for private courier purposes meaning premium prices, and a comfy sized cockpit for napping during FTL flight
@@BrendanWebbFtB yeah, I could, but I kinda like having the option to comfortably have a passenger, keep the option for manual controls on the guns that I can lockout from the cockpit.
It would be ideal if you were from a _small_ alien species, and could actually walk around in the cockpit. Then the bomb bay could be converted into a actual living area. But a Wookie would have to rip out the seats and steer it from the gunners position.
In Ep.4 Han quotes 10,000 as his price to take them to Alderaan, to which Luke replies, "Ten thousand? We could almost buy our own ship for that." So was Luke dreaming, was he thinking of serious junkers, or were there decent transport ships that could be had for ten thousand?
Luke's thinking might have been more along the lines that having the cash for a downpayment would be enough to "afford" a ship. There's a fair amount of IRL precedent for that, such as the predatory car dealerships near military bases. A lot of young, high-energy guys, with thousands in pay banked up over their training or deployment, who've just spent the last several months cooped up under strict supervision - taken together, these factors mean the dealerships are more than willing to offer Corporal J. Q. Public a hot deal on a shiny late-model Camaro, practically a steal at only 20% interest. Someone like Luke, willing to jump at any chance of getting offworld, would absolutely take that sort of deal if it meant he had keys in hand after forking over a downpayment.
@@DrewLSsix Exactly. To the sort of dealer who would be under Jabba's influence, the fact that Luke had no idea how to manage a hyperspace calculation would be a distant second-place concern to the fact that he had cash in hand.
Obi-Wan could have just gotten a Y-Wing (pilot, gunner and astromech). He could pilot that and make jumps with ease. And with a bit of Jedi mind trick on a dealer who _wasn't_ from a species that was immune, he could get a very good price.
YT-1300 is very efficient as it only need 2 crew and can carry 25 tons of in the passenger version (or 100 tons of cargo in the freight version). Compare this to the Gozanti being twice as long, needing 12 crew and only carrying 75 tons of cargo (from wookiepedia). Of course the Gozanti is a cruiser (aka lots of guns), so I wonder what its price and cargo capacity would be if you removed the guns in exchange for greater cargo capacity.
I love these videos where you bring star wars to life! I really wish there was a big online open world VR star wars game where I could play as a bounty hunter for example, and work for jabba the hut and make lots of credits in doing so. I hope one day there will be such a game.
I do think you could have mentioned the Sheathipede-class Transport shuttle , because it was also rather affordable at 120.000 Credits (it bet you could get it for far cheaper) and with a Hyperdrive, a short range scanner, a rather fast speed for a transport, and a carry capacity of 150 tons (without the 9 possible passengers) , it does bring many advantages.
What about the Corellian G9, aka the Twilight, the ship used for various missions by Anakin and Ahsoka in the Clone Wars? For a transport it had above average speed and maneuverability, forward firing weapons controlled by the pilot plus a rear gunner's station. It had capacity enough in its cargo bay to land a small ship or carry lots of troops or passengers. It had hyperdrive and as a bonus was equipped with a holographic medical unit to treat all but the most serious injuries.
For a good and cheap starfighter, I would recommend the Cloakshape fighter. Cloakshapes are a pre-clone wars ship that was 60,000 credits, with great speed, maneuverability, hull strength, and shields (if you're willing to buy that upgrade). On top of that, you'll get 2 laser cannons and 2 concussion missile launchers that can hold up to 16 missiles total. Of course you can replace this to have more storage if you want. For a hyperdrive, you'll have to buy that upgrade as well. Lastly, due to its age, the price of the Cloakshape dropped a lot. By the time of 10 ABY (10 years after the events of A New Hope in case someone didn't know), the Cloakshape was selling at the price of 15,000 credits! For pilots out there that want a good starfighter that's arguably the most affordable fighter in the galaxy, the Cloakshape is the ship for you.
As much as I have my heart set on a light freighter, possibly a YT-1000 if I can find one, I have to admit that the VCX Auxiliary Starfighter is VERY tempting. It's cheap, flexible and just barely large enough to live on (sort of). It would definitely do better than that YT series cockpit festooned with X Wing engines that my friend's putting together in his workshop.
Meanwhile me buying a Kuat drive yards Dynamic class freighter. As good as a YT-1300 but has better guns as standard and easily modifiable as the yt series.
Nice choice. My ship is from the D6 roleplay game. The 3-Z Light Freighter from Nova Drive which is like the redheaded stepchild of the YT series. Slightly redesigned to more of an oval shape than the yt-1200/1210/1250 it was based on, it sells for cheaper than the Yt-1300, has a less complicated layout. Maybe it's not onscreen canon but she still does it for me. Where everyone and his sister might want the YT-1300, I prefer the offbrand but still competitive 3-Z, which being based on YT designs, can use a lot of the fun aftermarket parts the CEC ships can (depending on how kind your GM is feeling at the time of course) We picked up ours secondhand, and although she had a few maintainence issues leftover from a negligent previous owner, with enough time and a lot of lubrication fluid, we managed to stop the grinding noise the ramp/cargo elevator made when in use and the way one of the landing legs hydraulics would stick when landing or taking off. Also the previous owner was either colorblind or eyes operated on a different spectrum because she was painted dark olive green with Gold/Bronze highlights. Our Captain though, insisted we keep the sickly livery. Good times were had aboard her though.
A ship that's similar to the Y-Wing, but even better is the ARC-170. striped out of its _three_ crew positions and you've got more living space. And it's designed for long range travel without any support. The sensor package is _nice,_ and it doesn't rely on a bunch of ordinance that has to be replaced, for defence (aka aggressive salvage).
Just wanted to say your intro to this video is nothing short of brilliant. One of the many things I love about your channel is linking contemporary political and economic issues to the world of Star Wars.
As cool as the standard variant, the Imperial Gozanti class is, I'm still partial the CROC variant, it's a bit bigger and much faster then then the standard, sure it doesn't carry as much guns come stock but it's still customizable that you can put on more guns. And it's more then double the price new but the amount of cargo, or mercs you can hold let's you more then make up for the cost. And just the design profile of it compared to the flying brick of that standard is just so sexy. But hey, we all gotta start some where so the basic Gozanti is more then enough for most folks trying to use.
I've fallen in love with the Gozanti class freighter. Add a couple second hand headhunters and the requisite docking rings, and you have a great little business hauling cargo to under serviced systems.
I personally love the YT-2400 light freighter at 130,000 credits (35,000 used) it's not cheap, but a very good ship taking the best of the YT-1300 and upgrading it. Another option would be the YT-2000 very similar in design and function (with a center aligned cockpit) although it's a bit more expensive still a great option.
What we got here is 10 BBY Y-Wing, fully stocked minus proton bombs and only 7 parsecs of mileage. You could be flying out of here in this baby for only 55,000 credits.
Dude thank you so much for content like this. As a super fan that loves to fantasize about what I would do if I was in the star wars universe this is *chefs kiss*
One thing about the original TIE fighters is that they could be issued to personnel that have non-human atmosphere requirements. Since all of the life support is contained in the suit, the TIE itself doesn't need any changes. Makes the production runs and maintenance much easier since only one design is needed, instead of needing to take into account different atmosphere compositions and the effect on the cockpit circuitry.
The Gozanti is my ship of choice. A workhorse that's suitably flexible for most, if not all, types of work. It even has some post-manufactured modifications which up it's usefulness even more
I grew up in an old Gozanti Cruiser with my family. Grandpa had been a die hard Corellian Engineering fan his whole life and kept his old YT-1300 strapped to the bottom as a "house extension." All in all, not bad for a bunch of freighter jockies.
Something I find kinda funny is how the Kom'rk-class fighter/transport, being 68 or 52 meters in length, costs 190'000 credits, while a T-85 X-Wing Starfighter, which is only like... 15 meters in length, costs 220'000 credits. I suppose the X-Wing models, especially the newer ones like the T-85 are very advanced which pump up their price dramatically, even compared to a ship as big as a Kom'rk-class.
You'll find that's because the T-85 is a frontline Starfighter designed purpose built for combat, the Kom'rk while yes being a Mandalorian ship, is still just a transport it's akin to comparing a C-130 to a F-14. Difference in purpose and technology differs the price.
The VCX-100 Light Freighter, like the Ghost, is also a pretty damn good deal. Even though it is 155k, it's sturdy, has multiple rooms, and has shown itself to be pretty reliable.
A big issue is what species are you? Jawas could fit an entire family in a Y-Wing and have room for amenities. While a Wookie better stick to light freighters - which also has the benefit that they themselves are forklifts, which helps if they want to do a bit of cargo haulage and passenger transport (no one causes trouble for the Wookie steward).
I've been fixated on looking up YT-1300 floor plans for the past month for some reason. Even the fan art. Love the creative ideas for both combat and civilian use. I'm thinking I would buy the Stock Passenger version, but still be a cargo hauler thanks to the mandibles. Then my crew of 3 or 4 get their own rooms.
Though it’s Legends, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tallon Karde’s Wild Karrde (whatever the model) was a pretty good bargain for a civilian craft and great for work/living space.
Honestly the LAAT sounds like a dream if I can get a reliable hyperdrive upgrade and a few choice modifications. Basically Id want to be a smalltime smuggler less spice more tax free booze
It would have been cool to see those Z 95 Headhunters in Rebels. Used by certain cells. Considering as you just demonstrated, they are among the cheapest and easiest to acquire.
Kinda surprised that the ST-70 Assault ship, aka the Razor Crest, didn't make the list. Given that it was famously used by bounty hunter Dinn Djarin post-Empire. Bounty hunters routinely go paycheck to paycheck so it would seem likely that the Mandalorian's personal Razor Crest was no Cadillac, but more like an old beat up Chevy. Half of season one seemed to be centered around him repairing or rebuilding it, therefore I'd guess that those ships might be cheap to acquire.
the ST-70 wasnt cheap, cause spare parts were rare. YT variants are better for most part. also depends on the job. Hauling stuff seems to be very lucrative in SW
The mankvim interceptor is an underrated cheap craft, just for 15,000 credits brand new and only 6,000 used it comes equipped with shielding and life support as well as a variety of weapons and a top speed of 1,450 km/h making it faster then a tie interceptor
Love these ship vids. I know it’s a different IP but maybe you could do a vid of Guardians of the Galaxy’s The Milano. Especially the version from the game a few months ago. It’s amazingly designed interior makes it perfect for living, storage and even training. Wonder how it would stack up and do in the Star Wars universe.
For me, I would get an Ettirean light cruiser.( or to be specific YV-260 light freighter) This ship is very similar to the Gozanti Freighter but a little smaller and more heavily armed. Making it perfect for bounty hunting. It was commonly used by security forces for patrol purposes but was very popular with smugglers and crime lords such as Talon Karrde and Jorje Cardaas. Can find a used one for about 80k creds.
I was very excited to see the Z-95 in love action and in the Clone Wars cartoon series. It’s so fun to see people tie in the first expanded-universe star fighter into cannon.
Good Grief, the Z-95 is more of a death trap than the TIE Fighter, despite it having warhead launchers, deflector shields and a hyperdrive. The TIE is king in that fight if nothing else other than the gun placement give you a better chance of hitting something than the Headhunter's.
I would love a ship like "The Ghost" lots of cargo and habitable area, suitable for 6 crewmates, not as big as a YT 3300 and decently versatile you can live, work and do pretty much everything in it, unlike a starfighter or similar ships
I feel like an Arc-170 would have been a perfect personal craft in the post-republic galaxy. I couldn't find anything about it's price but it was mass produced like a lot of clone wars era ships and has a lot of creature comforts like shielding, a decent hyperdrive, and an astromech slot. A couple aftermarket tweaks could remove the rear gun, divert the responsibilities of the secondary pilot to the main cockpit, and replace that space with some decent enough living quarters. You could even keep the rear gunner if you're happy enough with fold out beds and just a couple storage lockers
It's definitely my favorite for a fighter role, it's extremely small, fast and packs a punch, easy to maintain too. Could easily fit a few of these in a light freighter as the wings fold in making them extremely narrow.
I think i would choose a U-wing as my personal ship if i lived in this incredible universe. At a price of 65k credits (according to the fandom page), a class 1 hyperdrive and good shields, as well as good weaponry. I think its one of the best ships a person could buy.
I'll take a YT Series 1930 or XS Series over the 1300 any time. For Luxury I'd take a Lantillian Shipwrights GX1 Short Hauler in Diplomatic Version. For a Smaller Vessel I'd take the Incom U-60D U-Wing. If working with a Team of Like Minded Individuals, either as Bounty Hunters or Lawmen, a Gozanti-Class Cruiser would be Perfect. All are Highly Modifiable and Easy to maintain.
@@drewrubtheMando Same here. I already have a merc crew of Star Wars OCs I've gotten from all over. They use a heavily modified 1930 with a specially built docking "hanger" below the engines for a rare Delta-7 Aethersprite 4-seater variant. Literally had to replace the original drive assembly with one from a wreck 2400 attached that onto the top of the hull AND had to remove part of the bottom hull to fit the docking area. Damn I need some cash to actually get art of it made...
The Z95, the AK-47 of the Star Wars universe. Rugged, cheap, reliable and can be found virtually anywhere, customizable, many variants, that would be my first pick.

Well if you were within 5 years post fall of the republic. Grab a YT 1300, fly over to the scraper planet that Kal was on in fallen order. "Hey i was looking for some ship parts and i feel like one of these old ships would have exactly what i need. Scope out the place and find the crashed but intact jedi starfighter kal would eventually find, then whenever you eventually go to leave rush over, and grab that old fighter and GTFO. Then doing some at home upgrade work, you build a sneaky dock into the YT-1300. Now you have a sneaky fighter for whenever your smuggling runs go south. Even better if you build it into the underside because you could have the access being a hidden panel in the floor. (Someone boards your ship? Hide in your fighter, wait for the right moment then undock and blast the boarding people's ship) We have seen so much crazy stuff and the jedi fighter from episode 3 is so small that it would work perfectly for such a job. Just Not easy to fit upgrades into with it's profile.
A light freighter would have everything I need, even if it took awhile to save up for. A YT-1300 (ranging from 100,000-25,000 used), VCX-100 (155,000 credits) or a C-ROC Gozanti Cruiser (190,000 credits). Any of these modified to my specifications of course ❤😊 I have always loved the BTL A4 Y-Wing with a passion. At 135,000 credits new or 65,000 credits used, the Y-Wing would be a fantastic personal starfighter as well ❤
The YT-1300 seems like the way to go. It could probably be easily be made into a space fairing RV. Much better than a winnebago with wings. Lay out plush carpet, put in a decent entertainment system, and a good kitchenette.
Could you talk about some of the musical shifts that have occurred in the new Disney Star Wars projects? In my opinion it’s a detail most people won’t consciously notice, but it is a huge component to the original success of the original two trilogies. John Williams did an amazing job at making emotionally driving music with easily recognizable Melodie’s that became iconic. Lucas himself even spoke on the fact that Star Wars was meant to be a space opera of sorts… The vast intricacies of the music matched the vast intricacies of the original films.. Now it’s simplistic pop oriented music that lacks emotional depth and easily recognizable character themes....it’s more on par with the Marvel films which similarly lack artful and memorable music. It’s copy and paste. I personally feel it lowers the potency of the stories, and strays from the original spirit of the films. Try to remember one melody from the Disney films … Check out the soundtrack to empire strikes back and then compare it to Solo, Rogue One, The Mandolorian, or Book of Boba…
The Z95 is the equivalent of the P51 , F4U, P47, & spitfire of WW2. These planes ended up being surplus everywhere. And then they were used to come in & dominant air races. And some still dominant to this day.
The Gozanti seems like the most practical ship on this list. Cheap enough used to be affordable yet large enough to make both a good cargo freighter and living space on top of being well armed enough that you generally don't have to worry about things like pirates.
Upon seeing the scenes from the Second Battle of Geonosis, it made me wonder why don't the Republic fleet just bombard the Separatists' Droid Factory from the orbit.
Think I'd go for a Gozanti. It can definitely be modded for what ever I needed and with the undercarriage I could get some other ships. Versatility for what ever job I need. Gozanti also has room.
I'd go with a YT-1300, it's small enough for a one-man trip but large enough for a family, and I can probably earn a shit ton of money, if I can't get one, I'll go get a Z-95, get a hyperdrive and better shields
You could buy the 1300P passenger variant to give private rooms to your small crew or family. And even then, still take cargo jobs using the mandibles.
And remember when he says no life support that means no bathroom facilities other than what is built into your tie fighter pilot suit. I think it is worth saving up a little more money to get a ship with facilities. What looks like a deal isn’t always a bargain.
I know this video mentions Corellian ships as a whole, but I feel that there needs to be a shout out and honorable mention for another specific Corellian MFG ship that we are familiar with; the G9 Rigger model. A modest 85k new, 40 -ish K used, big enough to fit an A-Wing in its cargo hold, 2 decks tall, and with some reasonably good hull strength and weapons emplacements (asymmetrical design is a bit much, but still). Even less dog-fighty I'll admit, than the YT-1300 probably, but for someone looking to get off world, AND have a ship that is big enough to not only carry some cargo, but also stand up, turn around, exercise and generally live in, the G9 would be my choice.
I’d definitely get the LAAT. A variant that’s more of home. Perfect to live in with decent fire power and you can equip a hyper drive. All for about 50,000 credits

@@DetectiveLance got it
Another ship that's really underrated in my opinion and gets you a whole lot of bang for your buck is the Lancer class pursuit craft.
@@DetectiveLance You could strip out the gun turret to clear up more room from the pilot spot, so you could maybe fit a small area to sleep as well
@@BrendanWebbFtB yeah, I could, but I kinda like having the option to comfortably have a passenger, keep the option for manual controls on the guns that I can lockout from the cockpit.
It would be ideal if you were from a _small_ alien species, and could actually walk around in the cockpit. Then the bomb bay could be converted into a actual living area.
But a Wookie would have to rip out the seats and steer it from the gunners position.
@@casbot71 and now I'm imagining having a few of Babu Frik's species as maintenance crew. They look like they could use shoeboxes for bunks. 😆😆
This is the video I’ve always wanted. Even in the Empire at War RTS game, I’m cheap as hell
I mean, it was in Hutt space, second hand ships might run close to quarter price if sketchy & likely stolen
@@tba113 if you just need 2 seats and a trunk for the droids you can probably buy some bester with a hyperspace drive for 12 to 15 grand.
The margin between new and used is really unexpected. For instance, the TIE Defender costs 300,000 or 200,000 credits new, and 80,000 new.
It depends on what era your in too. Some ships probably go up in value too.
I mean, TIEs weren't exactly high quality even new. Heck, i'm surprised you can *find* used TIEs since those things break all the damn time.
Well the ships chain code could be pretty dodgy
You put new instead of used
*Reliability has left chat*
Although a heavily modify Z-95 would be cool, I'd go with the YT-1300 freighter for the reasons in the video.
like the fact it's bigger on the inside! Seriously, compare exterior shots of the Falcon to all the interior...it's way bigger on the inside
I hope one day there will be such a game.
if only...
Closest attempt is Star Citizen.... and that ain't looking so hot these days.
Some of Star Citizen’s ships do look like they could fit in Star Wars, like the Drake Cutlass. But as for actually playing it…
Just have to wait for more people to adopt vr
Weirdly, I'd probably take up a quiet job as a freelancer, running escort and supply jobs to help people out.
It had hyperdrive and as a bonus was equipped with a holographic medical unit to treat all but the most serious injuries.
sounds expensive
@@Marcusjnmc Maybe when new, but at the time of the clone wars most were old rust buckets
@@Marcusjnmc 85K new, 40-45K used according to the wiki. It's a real diamond in the rough.
He found his extremely cheap. Abandoned with a 5-finger discount.
Z95 is so underrated, both as a fighter and in Star Wars media.
The Gozonti has always been a favorite of mine. I have this story idea of a bounty hunting crew that operates out of one
Man you gotta out that things first flight on the holonet, assuming they get it going.
Eloquent use of the word "festooned"
Not to mention it still has shields and an astromech
The problem with it was high cost, maintenance, and high crew needs. Plus it was slower than other starfighters in a. Dogfight.
Also it was well armored for its size and durable
@@xSoulhunterDKx and the soft serve ice cream machine in the galley doesn't hurt either!
I have an X Wing on order since 1977. The delivery date keeps getting pushed back. It’s currently the ‘Tuesday before never’.
Never preorder man supply chains are a mess
I personally love the YT-2400 light freighter at 130,000 credits (35,000 used) it's not cheap, but a very good ship taking the best of the YT-1300 and upgrading it.
Another option would be the YT-2000 very similar in design and function (with a center aligned cockpit) although it's a bit more expensive still a great option.
I would take the YT-1300fp, Gozanti cruiser, Z-95 headhunter, VCX-100 aux craft, and the LAAT.
What we got here is 10 BBY Y-Wing, fully stocked minus proton bombs and only 7 parsecs of mileage. You could be flying out of here in this baby for only 55,000 credits.
Original armor plating?
@@DetectiveLance Yup, only 1 owner. Local defense force, never damaged in combat. Only minor comestic damage from space debris.
Dude thank you so much for content like this. As a super fan that loves to fantasize about what I would do if I was in the star wars universe this is *chefs kiss*
Ah yes. the standard Tie Fighter ball cockpit. The third most plentiful thing in the galaxy just behind Hydrogen at number 2 and stupidity at number 1
Ah, a man of culture, I see
One thing about the original TIE fighters is that they could be issued to personnel that have non-human atmosphere requirements. Since all of the life support is contained in the suit, the TIE itself doesn't need any changes. Makes the production runs and maintenance much easier since only one design is needed, instead of needing to take into account different atmosphere compositions and the effect on the cockpit circuitry.
Honestly, the most practical ship I can think of for a reasonable price would a U-Wing. I would love to have a U-wing
Actually pretty affordable yay priced
Solid choice. I grew up with minivans and the U-Wing gives off some major minivan vibes.
How do you find the lore prices of used Star Wars ships? Whenever I try to search, all I get is LEGO sh*t.
The Gozanti is my ship of choice. A workhorse that's suitably flexible for most, if not all, types of work. It even has some post-manufactured modifications which up it's usefulness even more
I grew up in an old Gozanti Cruiser with my family. Grandpa had been a die hard Corellian Engineering fan his whole life and kept his old YT-1300 strapped to the bottom as a "house extension."
All in all, not bad for a bunch of freighter jockies.
After watching Book of Boba Fett, I needed that message of hope. Thanks Alan & GT!
A Ferrari also costs more than a van.
To be fair there was an entire Jawa clan that turned their Sandcrawler into a starship...
Though it’s Legends, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tallon Karde’s Wild Karrde (whatever the model) was a pretty good bargain for a civilian craft and great for work/living space.
The Wild Karrde was a heavily modified Corellian Engineering Corp "Action VI" bulk freighter. A stock one runs about 200,000 cred new.
Razorcrest is actually very expensive
the ST-70 wasnt cheap, cause spare parts were rare.
I love the "hello there" in the British accent.
Yt-2000 X-Wing Alliance made me fall in love with the design of the Otana
Barloz class freighter used for 12,000 so i think ill take that one plus its a dope looking place to live
I wish there was a Star Wars themed elite Dangerous or star citizen like game
These vids are so entertaining and I love the way he talks about star wars ships as if its a guide incase you wanted to get one I real life : )
Good Grief, the Z-95 is more of a death trap than the TIE Fighter, despite it having warhead launchers, deflector shields and a hyperdrive. The TIE is king in that fight if nothing else other than the gun placement give you a better chance of hitting something than the Headhunter's.
" Ten thousand? We can almost by our own ship for that."
- Luke Skywalker during the negotiation with Han Solo for passage off Tatooine
I would love a ship like "The Ghost"
lots of cargo and habitable area, suitable for 6 crewmates, not as big as a YT 3300 and decently versatile
you can live, work and do pretty much everything in it, unlike a starfighter or similar ships
The ‘Ghost’ (a VCX-100) is much larger than the YT-1300
ok, the "white van from your local Amber alerts" killed me. nicely done
now i can save 15% or more on starship insurance!
Engine corp would like to speak to you about your extended warranty on your star ship.
You could even keep the rear gunner if you're happy enough with fold out beds and just a couple storage lockers
i think it was pretty expensive even in mass production, but i have no clue how much it costs post cw
No Aurek? its 4000 years old and still is a viable starfighter to use.
It's definitely my favorite for a fighter role, it's extremely small, fast and packs a punch, easy to maintain too. Could easily fit a few of these in a light freighter as the wings fold in making them extremely narrow.
I love all the ships you mentioned. But, if you see an old XS class freighter I am game. Just love the lines on that puppy!
I think i would choose a U-wing as my personal ship if i lived in this incredible universe. At a price of 65k credits (according to the fandom page), a class 1 hyperdrive and good shields, as well as good weaponry. I think its one of the best ships a person could buy.
Plenty of internal room too if you want to use it like truck with a pop up camper in the bed...
@@26th_Primarch Exactly, personally i think its perfect
The big tech dig had me dying 😂
I'm looking forward to my star ship purchase.
Heres a free video suggestion - "Lesser known (but still as good if not better) alternatives to CEC ships" :P
I like the Berloz-class freighter, personally. Cheap, upgradable, lots of cargo space.
One thing you left out for the Y-Wing and Z95 is the cost of the astromech droid you'll need to make the hyperspace calculations.
But would save in the maintenance and repair areas, being astroMECHS
I would go with the VCX series. Especially for a first ship.
I like how this feels like you’d find this on the Star Wars equivalent of youtube
Big fan of the 1930 myself.
The YT-1300 always struck me as a space faring Winnebago/old motor home (which Mel Brooks certainly agreed with, giving us the iconic Eagle 5)
I really enjoyed your Emo Kid tangent.
The Z95, the AK-47 of the Star Wars universe. Rugged, cheap, reliable and can be found virtually anywhere, customizable, many variants, that would be my first pick.
How would you say the Zeta Class shuttle would fair? Its always been one of my favorites design wise and I hear they have some decent stats.
Disney makes the best blade connectors push twist and it locks unlocks perfect locking design no tools needed and can be easily modified for a stronger blade as it’s also strips of led in the blade while most are flashlights
I personally would want ST-70 they're beautiful and pretty affordable from what I see on the Mandalorian they're downright undesirable to most people
The LAAT is such an underrated ship. That’s exactly what Mando should have gotten, not the N1.
Yeah, but they, originally, couldn't work outside of atmosphere.
Last doesn’t have a hyperdrive
I love your vids Allan especially these in universe ones!
You have to feel sorry for Corellia, the empire did them dirty.
Lovve the videos. Do you think you could do a video on some affordable blasters so people can protect their cargo from pirates
I hope the upcoming open world Star Wars game lets us buy ships, the concept of shopping around for starships is so cool to me
A light freighter would have everything I need, even if it took awhile to save up for.
Something droid four wings/legs if you can buy one it costs 16,000~ good ship if you can get one
Gozanti Cruiser or a LAAT would be some nice ships. And as you said, they are quite affordable
Lucas himself even spoke on the fact that Star Wars was meant to be a space opera of sorts…
The vast intricacies of the music matched the vast intricacies of the original films..
Try to remember one melody from the Disney films …
Check out the soundtrack to empire strikes back and then compare it to Solo, Rogue One, The Mandolorian, or Book of Boba…
I always figured starship prices were equivalent to like planes for us and speeders would be more along the lines car prices
You could also include the loranor medium transport,it is also very cheap
It was shielded.
Love these videos!!!!!
Think I'd go for a Gozanti. It can definitely be modded for what ever I needed and with the undercarriage I could get some other ships. Versatility for what ever job I need. Gozanti also has room.
I used to love the Y-wing when I was a kid.
@@konstellashon1364 aye!
For a starship, I've always said I've liked the Arc 170 I'd just have to modify it, to improve the ships abilities
I believe I'll take a LAAT Gunship. I know a mechanic on Tatooine that can "pimp it out" for me.
I’d definitely get the LAAT. A variant that’s more of home.
Perfect to live in with decent fire power and you can equip a hyper drive. All for about 50,000 credits
