Yes, that's right. But can every builders use lathe? I also recommend to use lathe for full-time drum builders. Thses kind of zigs are useful for hobby builders and small business builder.
A lathe is dangerous for turning drums. You need high speed to turn properly and shells do explode. This setup here is waaaaay more safe. Use your brain.
@@drs-Rigo-ReusWhat's with the disrespect? I've been using a high speed custom lathe that can be slowed down to one rpm for 25 years now, carving true solid tree trunks shells. I use my head all the time. Don't be uncool.

It is better with trey bit, rounded shape at thr corner.
