My last coil lasted about a year and quit one day when trying to leave a friends house. I didn't expect it to fail that soon. Good idea to have an extra one laying around.
She sounds awesome again brother glad it was something simple I had 1 go bad on me except it would run at mid to upper rpms but slow down it would die I thought same carbarator fuel filter NOPE cdi dieing. I found something out the other day when I first started this hobby it was NT speed carburetor no boe fang will the other day I was switching 1 NT to another and usually I leave the plunger slid on the throttle cable seeings it's the same carburetor don't do it I was fine tuneing the avenger 85 I have it came with a boefang carburetor my phantom engine came with both and the NT speed carburetor seemed to perform better than boefang so I took the bofang off the avenger because it was spitting out the carbarator so I decided to try to fix it like the phantom without the window piston so I put Reed valve on and boefang carburetor didn't work as good as I expected so I went with NT speed carburetor and it was a little better so I tried another NT carburetor and I noticed it that depending on the year the centerpiece where you can move the clip is different 1 has 5 slots and the other one has 4 and is a different length so I dug out my vm18 carburetor ordered some jets and going to try that I also got a window piston just in case I also took off the straight pipe with Silencer and put a mz65 expansion chamber pipe on it right now the phantom can get the jump on the avenger but I'm still playing with the avenger be safe brother
@@mikemiller3303 I like the nt speed carbs myself and yes I've noticed the difference in the needle slots myself. I really don't like the drain plunger on the bottoms of the bofang.to me when u have clearance issues the last thing u need is a big plunger sticking out the bottom of the carb to get on the way.Thanks for watching brother and ride safe
I have a but of exp with the phantoms. You'll need to 1st check your squish gap and adjust as necessary. You'll need to locktite down your cyl studs. Be sure it dries before installing, as well as other mounting studs with locktite! Next tail point is the cap nuts and lock washers need replacement with automotive grade on your cyl. Again check your squish gap before final assy. As these engines are NOT plug and play. Only get in it after maybe a 1-3 minute warm up. That's it
