You have to remember this song was originally made in the 80's when Heaven 17 were alot younger and it was SENSATIONAL, so don't ever say it would be better without''that man''...
That would be Carol Kenyon, and yes she DOES have a tremendous voice. I will say that La Roux has given it a valient effort and actually complements Heaven 17 VERY well. But Carol's voice is simply stunning and made this song what it is.
Can't leave out Kelly - amazing vocals. This is another take. Her voice simply doesn't have the richness or power to carry it off. The backing vocalists sound more capable.
@@Macrogue65 Only really familiar with Carol. I wasn't an overly big fan of Heaven 17, but Temptation was my favorite from them. BTW, bit of history. Did you know how Heaven 17 got their name?
@@wilfredwilde9559 Her voice is softer, but I like the tone. Bulletproof is still my favorite from her, but In For The Kill is a close second. I like the more whimsical I'm Not Your Toy as well.
i have been obsessed and addicted 2 la roux and 80's 4 a year now but id never heard of heazven 17 and la roxu til now and he is absolutely AMAZING 2!!! :)) x
30 años después el tema sigue intacto, bozarron de la chica hace la diferencia en este tema, escuchado en pleno 2019 casi a varias semanas del nuevo 2020 y este tema pone la piel de gallina.
Much as I love the old...the fact that La Roux wanted to take on something from well before their birthday is outstanding, and Heaven 17 had a common vision. Upvote!
GREAT SONG and brilliant performance from the whole crew ! the sound must be digital because it is so clear and good . Thanks for posting this !! never take it away please !
Music maded from 2020 is just good, much musik maded in the 80ties is fantastic !!!!!!! I would not change my youth for no monney in the world !!! sooo manny great sons where maded in the 80ties !!!
This video is full of comments slagging Elly off and the "In For The Kill" video from the same set is full of comments slagging Glenn off. Can't people just appreciate that two different artists are trying something a bit new? If you want to listen to the unadulterated original version, it's not hard to get hold of.
ShoeLube absolutely! if she actually at least sang it in tune ... it's more about her not actually being able to sing it in the way she's trying to, I don't mind what she's doing with the song, but then ... do it
Billie is better. Not only in intonation, also in the sheer strenght of vocal output. And, Billie has a much friendlier attitude. It is impossible not to love her.
No she is not! Shes beautiful! And who gives you the right to judge her? She hasnt done anything to you. Shes perfect the way she is. Like MyBodina said shes putting emotion into the singing. Thank you. Have a good day.
I saw this when originally aired on freeview and watched it repeatedly for 16 hours and thought she did great. The "going for the kill" collaboration is particularly good.
elly does it his way and his voice is so amazing in this song wuaoo: D she has a great voice, a free discussion that because she has a great voice and an end.! elly jackson the best: D
Why's everyone here bashing Elly? She did a decent job considering the fact that the female vocals in the original version were heavier (Elly's voice is just not naturally that powerful) and more piercing and APPARENTLY sung by a woman with some sort of experience in soul music, as it sounds quite soulful. Elly was, in fact, the song's highlight and the spotlight. And besides, the note she hit in "believe" was the same as in the original. Ya'll are being biased, she was not that bad.

The singer is immortal
(perhaps ?!)
Bump!
God, she's awful
@Randy Washington Most definitely, without a shadow of a doubt
Truth. I've listened to this song for 40 years and I can listen to it for another 40 years.
Amazing vocals, lyrics, musicians. Loved Heaven 17 since the 80s

I like La Roux but she hasn’t got a strong voice .Much better on her own .
@@wilfredwilde9559 Her voice is softer, but I like the tone. Bulletproof is still my favorite from her, but In For The Kill is a close second. I like the more whimsical I'm Not Your Toy as well.
Everything about this is perfect. And those backing singers!
i absolutly Love this song ,the perfomance and elly
I love how this song is a CONSTANT crescendo.
Such a committed performance from La Roux and Heaven 17 still sounding good.
She's got a very weak voice. Billie Godfrey blows her out the water. La Roux is so lightweight. Spoils the song
@@teeninthe80s75 --- Yeah committed by she's not got a great voice.
I agree with you saying 'a committed performance from La Roux', but she's just not up to such a very demanding task
I just can´t get enough of this tune! God bless you for uploading!
The perfection of "temptation" 30 years later ...
Cradle of Filth perfected this song in 2006!
40 years.
love this! where have i been for the past decade?? amazing!
that man is part of the reason why the song was such a great success
Absolutely awesome stuff.

Agreed!!
Well she doesn't have the voice, she sounds limited in her own songs. Doesn't have the vocal range.
wow this is pretty good
Different vibe, still great!
The girl did his best. It's impossible to match the original, outworldly female vocals. Glenn's performance is superb as usual, classy and powerful
Gabriel Rearte yeah
Brilliant!!!!
trainspotting babeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
so hot this song and performance!!!
love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Billie is better. Not only in intonation, also in the sheer strenght of vocal output. And, Billie has a much friendlier attitude. It is impossible not to love her.
Agreed. Is Billie doing back-up vocals in this one?
Wouaouhh ! Great !
La roux nailed it
A-mazing!
80's songs rule...

La Roux sounds WOW!
What a 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵
exactly!
VERY BRAVE YOUNG LADY!!!!!!!
Her voice is nowhere near as powerful as the lady that originally recorded this tune with Heaven 17..
Killer !
Very cool track, still sounds great. La Roux surprised me, she hit that high note!
I saw this when originally aired on freeview and watched it repeatedly for 16 hours and thought she did great. The "going for the kill" collaboration is particularly good.
damn I still love this!
commendable effort :)..
Minute 2:45...woh!!...I'm lovin' it
Brilliant!!
pure power o_O
she is amazing! if anyone knows of any new la roux songs let me know.
Madison Urias she sang on new orders last album
Love this version.
Oh hell yer!!!!
perfect match
oh yeahh
La Roux. Now that is a cool name for a band
This is one best version, I think, great impact
@Mabbeld The "ear-piece" that most artists wear while singing is so they can hear their own voice

La Roux. THAT is a cool band name 😊
tough ask to sing Carol Kenyon's parts but she does a good job
Wow! :-o
GRANDI!
Seca La Roux 😍
