Actually, the cool thing here is that Dave and his son Eddie did the work and put good people working for them to the task of creating this tribute to golf. I'm guessing they used their intelligence and hard earned relationships to save a lot on this personal creation.
The relationship of hard work and dedication does not have everything to do with financial success. There are many people who work hard and have nothing (financially). There are many people who don't work as hard as others and have unlimited income. My 720sq. ft Jack Nicklaus green was 15K. This green/course would be at least 100-200K if fully outsourced. Usually it's $15-20 a square foot. The home looks like it's 2MM. Classified as a wealthy individual.
Reuben Ahmed. I've built greens just like this for the past two years for The rich and famous in South Florida. This would cost close to a million dollars all said and done. The synthetic turf is very pricey plus he's in Texas so he needs to spray the entire course with a liquid cooling product that is crazy expensive.
I think you're missing is point there bud his grass is fake it never gets mowed and it never gets watered. That's why he says it gets watered every morning while there's no water out here just my streams.
Mn_Hockey34 lol me too brother! I have a 4" cup made out of pvc. I weedeat the green in holidays and when my brother and I are together for the weekend. It's about 130 yards. Plays right to left. Sits in the back of the horse pasture! My mom even miss my fairways sometimes. It's about the love of the game. People like us can't afford a 100$ round of golf every weekend so we improvise. It's true love my friend. Howdy from Texas!
I am pretty sure most people feel the same as you. Having something like this backyard is a fantasy to most people. Dave was able to do it and all we can do is sit back in aww.
dONT BE JEALOUS, FELL BLESSED YOU DONT HV A poisonous gOLF COURSE IN YOUR BACKYARD. GOLF COURCES = CHEMICAL HERBICIDE GLYPHOSATE SPRAY TO MAKE THE GRASS LOOK NICE= CANCER, AND SOOO MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS.
Hope this is what heaven looks like i been trying for a while to get my yard to look this good with a 600 sq ft green man its tough .I just don't have the skill im learning off youtube. awsome job Dave
What company did you get the grass from. We are trying to make a 6 hole short game practice area and need to know what to use to accept 40-70 yard shots and the best way to install it
My best memory is when Dave Pelz was shown with Phil Mickelson on a golf telecast and the announcer said, " I wonder who is teaching who" ? That said it all.
Andrew...yup...that was the 13th green at Augusta..not the 14th green...easy to tell.. Cause the 14th green is the only hole at Augusta that doesn't have a bunker....which they always mention about 100 times each yr..😄
I would make it different: I would make a short par 4 hole (300yards) with 4 or 5 greens with different pins with distances to the beginning of the greens from 100 yards to 140 yards, to 180 yards to 220 yards and 300 yards.
Keep golf pure. At the beginning of the video I said bring on the range finders but nou I realized that we should just keep the sport in the players skill level.
Looks more like the 13th, Rae's creek (tributary) runs down the left side and then in front of the green. The bunkering is also somewhat similar to the 13th. Definitely not the 14th.
Synthectic or simplistic ....... looking years ahead ... will the game survive ?? or will it slowly die away as investors no longer find it a Financial sound collaboration ??
I Iove how the old man says, “I don’t have to dress for anyone”. And it’s true. For some reason, public golf courses always have a specific dressing etiquette which is ridiculous imo. I’ve had a few arguments with some golf course rangers about what I was wearing. I guess my Nike T-shirt, Khakis, and shoes, didn’t quite fit their expectations lol. Anyways, this course is amazing!
Must be nice lol. Sure its synthetic turf but TBH if i wanted to play real golf i would just go to the course. For the purposes of working on my game i would have no problem with low maintenance fake turf. Oh and he obviously paid big bucks for this project, but he also definitely paid for that view.
This is what you can achieve guy's if you hustle enough PGA pros into paying you to speak to them in generalities without any consequences if their performance does not improve. Then write a few difficult to read books.
Dave Pelz is a world class short game Guru. Has written lots of books and helped many pga tour pros. Hes not a rich knob, the guy knows his stuff. Ive read his putting bible and its 20 years ahead of the game.
not in Austin on the land it sits. Would never last and the Synlawn is tremendous surface. We have been there many times in many conditions, so trust us Synlawn is the best surface you could use.
yea but it's all turf. take a look at gareth bales garden a real golf course and all grass this is just fake grass just doesn't look as good as the real thing but yes it is cool
Real grass takes a ton of maintenance and time to keep it like a real course. If you have the money and time I agree with you. Not as much upkeep for turf which mean more time to practice and enjoy it.
Cmon dude, 14 at Augusta does not have Rae’s creek going in front of it. It’s your own backyard. You don’t even know what greens are what. You’re too fucking rich
Seems idyllic, but I dont think the wildlife would appreciate the artificial grass ? Bit like these artificial supposed perfect women, look good but little in way of character, ethical and moral values or principles. On the subject of women, I assume these guys have wives? whats their take on this somewhat selfish preference?
What you can achieve when money is no object. That place looks amazing.
It was breathtaking to say the least. So much fun to hit shots from his patio.
Actually, the cool thing here is that Dave and his son Eddie did the work and put good people working for them to the task of creating this tribute to golf. I'm guessing they used their intelligence and hard earned relationships to save a lot on this personal creation.

lol. What kind of cheesy corporate response is that?

The early Golf Channel days with the Dave Pelz short game instruction was amazing.
I just fell in love with a piece of land😍😍
you are not the only one!!!!
Love the smell of turf in the morning.
Love this place!
Us too!
WoW What Dream come true!!! Well Done Sirs. Well Done.
Pretty cool huh?
lol, when he says "u don't need to have a backyard like i have." i was expecting him to then say "but u gotta be rich though."
"My grass is cut everymorning" I don't even have enough motivation to wipe my arse properly every morning
Based on this video the grass is synthetic...
I think you're missing is point there bud his grass is fake it never gets mowed and it never gets watered. That's why he says it gets watered every morning while there's no water out here just my streams.
That is the coolest thing I’ve seen I only have 1 hole in my yard
Mn_Hockey34 lol me too brother! I have a 4" cup made out of pvc. I weedeat the green in holidays and when my brother and I are together for the weekend. It's about 130 yards. Plays right to left. We had dirt greens, when we were kids. My brother and I, that we'd sweep after wed take the detritus off of them. The were lightning fast.
Amazing. All you need in life
Soo Cool
awesome! golf has been good to dave
Ad Dave has been good for golf. Did more for my game, than anything else.
@@maxpower9499 great teacher for sure
you cant even dream of this! this is amazing!
GOLF COURCES = CHEMICAL HERBICIDE GLYPHOSATE SPRAY TO MAKE THE GRASS LOOK NICE= CANCER, AND SOOO MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS.
I admit it.... I am jealous. I wish I had a nice decent house and a short game backyard like that.
I am pretty sure most people feel the same as you. Having something like this backyard is a fantasy to most people. Dave was able to do it and all we can do is sit back in aww.

Brilliant
Soooo cool... #backyardgoals
Man I really want this in my backyard..... I need to move out of Bergen county, NJ. Lol. Thanks for posting.
No worries... we hope you get the backyard like this too.
Inspiring
One day.... you can get there!
F...ing AWESOME!
Right?! Dave did it right!
Hope this is what heaven looks like i been trying for a while to get my yard to look this good with a 600 sq ft green man its tough .I just don't have the skill im learning off youtube. awsome job Dave
Keep working.... You will get there!
This is amazing content 👌
So jealous. Wow
I don't play golf but a lazy river surrounding all the putting greens would be dope
wow
I bet people will sneak on his course now too, lol!
How big is the yard? Looks great!
Just a few acres... 18 or something like that.
That's awesome
This is actually an advertisement for his son
What company did you get the grass from. We are trying to make a 6 hole short game practice area and need to know what to use to accept 40-70 yard shots and the best way to install it

Wow the nuts. Do you need a lodger lol.. cooler than a cucumber....Heaven in life..
amazing
My man loves golf..
Best sport out there!!!
Well deserved. And to hand-craft that with your son? It doesn't get any better than that.
No it does not... it's amazing!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch. The "ranch", is my flophouse, but it has its perks! 😜
How much money each month to keep it in shape I wonder ? Nice and green and perfectly cut grass.
Been playing WGT golf game. Maybe ill set some turf upin the woods ??
I need there from lessons Dave and I bet I’ll be pro before I’m 40 😂
It is me or were the hole details off by Augusta 13/14 (was 12 and 13) pebble 13 (is )14) etc.
Andrew...yup...that was the 13th green at Augusta..not the 14th green...easy to tell.. Cause the 14th green is the only hole at Augusta that doesn't have a bunker....which they always mention about 100 times each yr..😄
best place to be quarantined
agreed
Thats synthetic turf ?? Nice
What Dreams Are made Of
Doing it right!
This is so cool. I wish I had the money to do it
As do we... Very cool experience!
Having money must really be nice. Beautiful golf course. Well done. Enjoy it.
Absolutely
Bad ass
Wow, he got that crib from golf lessons.
Ah, a true humanitarian. Golf for the rich!
He's a good man. We will vouch for his integrity, thanks.
I would make it different: I would make a short par 4 hole (300yards) with 4 or 5 greens with different pins with distances to the beginning of the greens from 100 yards to 140 yards, to 180 yards to 220 yards and 300 yards.
It would def allow you to work on more aspects of your game then just your short game.
Full time job maintenance managing the turf?
Not at all.. Just some maintenance with leaves and things like that.. Other than that - Set it and forget it!
Keep golf pure. At the beginning of the video I said bring on the range finders but nou I realized that we should just keep the sport in the players skill level.
that is #12 at Augusta. Amazing project none the less, however.
Looks more like the 13th, Rae's creek (tributary) runs down the left side and then in front of the green. The bunkering is also somewhat similar to the 13th. Definitely not the 14th.
I thought it was 12 not 13 and 13 not 14
you should check out by backyard green, we made real grass green!
What part of Texas is the location, to be so open & desert looking?
Texas is huge!!
hill country in austin
This is just outside of Austin.
what type of grass is he using?
That is Synlawn artificial grass
thanks mate
Awesome good for you? Might have to hire your sons to do my future...... house..
cool. hopefully you have a crew that takes care of it
its fake grass. That was the joke. Artificial grass is not like the old school Brady Bunch backyard.
Youre too stupid to understand its fake grass. So you should not comment.
He actually does have a maintenance guy who comes and cleans out the water and blows leaves off the greens
This guy better have the best short game in the world
Wavy Bone do you even know who Dave Pelz is.....?
I think he should throw it open for membership!
Not a bad idea... We will pass this along to Pelz.
what grasses were shown on this selection of golf holes ..bent or Fescue ?
Synthetic. People really think this is real grass?
Synthectic or simplistic ....... looking years ahead ... will the game survive ?? or will it slowly die away as investors no longer find it a Financial sound collaboration ??
As they believe Peace is a possibiliy .. in the World ..
Synthetic grass will never replicate a short shot from real grass. It looks great, but won’t necessarily equate to lower scores.
GOLF COURCES = CHEMICAL HERBICIDE GLYPHOSATE SPRAY TO MAKE THE GRASS LOOK NICE= CANCER, AND SOOO MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS.
How much does it cost to built?
I have no clue but you have to assume it was pretty costly!
Oh...ok...
Public doesn’t even care what u wear do u mean private?
Must be nice lol. Sure its synthetic turf but TBH if i wanted to play real golf i would just go to the course. For the purposes of working on my game i would have no problem with low maintenance fake turf. Oh and he obviously paid big bucks for this project, but he also definitely paid for that view.
I want this house.
His house is pretty amazing. No neighbors near by and HUGE
The father passes away and a month later the son has maryjane growing on the greens
Looks great but realisticly its just maintaining, try not to make divots (if he actually plays)...idk of it is handy to have it but each its own
Fucking awesome!
How much are we talking for this? And I will build a better one? x
Now you need some actual flagsticks and flags.
Of course someone would pick the island green, talk about a waste of area, number 12 from Augusta would of been the way to go there
They have a beautiful replica of Number 12 from Augusta complete with Raes Creek.
I hope the windows are reinforced
All the holes you are hitting away from the house.
green 1 is 12 Augusta not '13 Augusta'?
We are going off of what Dave Says... Dave is the word.
This is what you can achieve guy's if you hustle enough PGA pros into paying you to speak to them in generalities without any consequences if their performance does not improve. Then write a few difficult to read books.
Or, also if you help them winning multiple majors... but that probably doesn’t sound good to idiots.
That is millions of dollars to out in your back yard!
not the 14th at augusta or the 13th. They are the 12th and the 13th
“Money can’t bring you happiness”
Yes it can.. Shame I don't have any... (Money that is)
His son built it
For half of it he was just flexing his greens
Just shows how many rich people there are, I have never heard of Dave Pelz.
Dave Pelz is a world class short game Guru. Has written lots of books and helped many pga tour pros. Hes not a rich knob, the guy knows his stuff. Ive read his putting bible and its 20 years ahead of the game.
*Paid for by Phil Mickleson.
I only have one hole in my backyard and it’s awaiting my wife !!! Lol
I forget, we have Mr Travolta and his jets, it's amazing what women will put up with for a few $'s . Oh ye, I forgot the oldest trade going ?
Oh it’s an as
Take. My. Money.
So this is how the other half live?
That's at least how Dave lives.
He has every lye and never has to cut his grass
Never needs to cut his grass!
The only holes in my yard come from moles.
That works too... Anything to work on the game.
this must have cost multiple millions to build / plan
Vanity of vanity...all is vanity
S G it’s also his office: normal golfers pay him thousands of bucks for his short games clinics...
It would be the greatest IF it was real grass
not in Austin on the land it sits.
How did this guy make this much money? He's a millionaire? WTF?
Luke Smith he’s simply one of the most renowned short game golf teacher in the world...
I want to know what his handicap is? Thats a lot of money to spend to just "practice"
Slinkbomb scratch golfer. I seriously doubt he plays many rounds though given what he does for a living.
Why cover nature in plastic?
And then there are millions dying of hunger.
So in your opinion Dave should work hard for his money to then just give it away. Gotcha
Those millions of people don't eat artificial putting turf so I don't know what you're worried about.
Sure: my grandma could have said the same interesting comment...
Hugh Hefner had a much better back yard.
Possibly but Hugh’s putter didn’t work so well...
@@user-yo2tr8lu6y lol hugh wore out his putter
Solid arguments here.
Cmon dude, 14 at Augusta does not have Rae’s creek going in front of it. It’s your own backyard. You don’t even know what greens are what. You’re too fucking rich
the guy has earned his money
dave you have too much time and money
He lives on golf... what can he say!
I'd rather have a lawn.
Stu won
Then have a lawn you jealous fuck.
What do you bet he still sucks at golf?
Tell me you don't know who Dave Pelz is without telling me.
Seems idyllic, but I dont think the wildlife would appreciate the artificial grass ?
