I had to stop the video so could comment and not miss anything. Thank you so much for not using plastic to wrap the drawers or protect other areas from getting paint on them! I have not seen anyone on YT forego the plastic, you are the first! Thank you so much for seeking and using alternatives!!
I can not believe how awesome that dresser looks. I'm fixing to start refinishing an old dresser I'm going to use for a TV 65 inch table. I hope I can follow you instructions.
It’s hard to believe that too isn’t real wood - it looks so great!! I love how you took the look to the top drawers. It really adds to the overall all look. Great job!👏
Wilson Art Laminate used to make this back in the 80's. Low and behold they still do and it is at Lowes. Now it looks like granite. Great call for the wood trim on the drawers. Love the gold knobs. Beautiful job. Thanks.
Hello. You did an amazing job on this piece. I believe bringing that faux finish from the top to the top front of the dresser made all the difference. “BEAUTIFUL”!! 👍🥰🥰🥰
Hi great video, I did this wood effect on my sister in law's living room furniture 25 years ago, but did it in reverse to your colouring. Darker background with lighter top coat with the grain effect. Looked lovely and gave the furniture another lease of life.
Make it look so easy. The prep is the hard un fun part... I'd like to see a dark brown... not a stain or wood look. Just dark chocolate paint. Beautiful results.
It looks like this didn’t take you long to do at all! I’m in the same area and it’s been sooo humid! My pieces haven’t been drying and curing well at all! How are you dealing with this humidity?
WOW! Absolutely GORGEOUS! I LOVE the entire transformation, and hope to experiment with this soon. I'm just delving into furniture flipping, and praying for a successful run! Stay blessed...
Wondering if you give your furniture time for the paint to cure before listing it for sale? I use Heirloom Traditions paint and feel nervous about selling a furniture piece until the paint is cured for a couple weeks. Is that smart or am I just being overly worried??? I do put a top coat on, even though the paint has one built in, for extra protection. Thanks for your videos! You’ve given me the confidence to keep trying new methods!
I'm curious, is there a way to see where you sell the pieces and the final prices? Also it looks great with the black and faux wood top finish. I love how it came out!
WOW that looks so wonderful! I always love black furniture it looks so classy and the faux finish is to die for, you did it so well I might just have to try it out something soon!
The screen of plastic is perfect and easy to make. That’s a great tip. I’ve messed up the garage before. We are moving into a new house and my husband will be so happy if I don’t spray the walls.
Hello! If there is overlap on the drawers and body it is easier to spray the drawers separate. If they sit inside the body of the dresser, you can spray it all together.
Beautiful! What is the difference between a stain and a glaze? I really want to try this! I am confused on which of the product kits to purchase. The link shows so many!
I think the link goes right to the one I used as far as highlighting it. I just pulled up a lot of the pictures on amazon to see which color I liked best. I think it was walnut I ended up with for this one
Hi Kara! Just wanted to let you know I ordered a surforep sander thanks to you and used your code for a discount. This is Wendy Kniffen from st. Augustine Florida but I changed my user name! Keep on keeping on! Thank you for your creativity and inspiration!
GORGEOUS REDO😯😯I’m curious what part of Texas you’re in- I’m in North Dallas- I’m with you on this heat already😂. Please we’re over 8 inches of rain already since first of MAY🥵🥵🥵
You know, it turned out better than I thought it was going to, but I have to say, I don't really like the shade of the stain you used on the top... it reminds me too much of those old fake butcher block counters from the 80's... I think it would have been nicer with a little darker, warmer tone, or maybe a different primer. Funny thing is, I kind of like the primer color, before the wood grain. It made the geometric shape of the drawers stand out, and popped against the black. Also, there seemed to be a bunch of speckles on the black paint? Don't what was causing that... But like I said, it turned out pretty nice... I just would have gone in such a completely different direction with that piece, it took me a minute to wrap my brain around it.. You know, different strokes for different folks...😅😅😅
I actually loved the original hardware😊
Your indecisiveness made me feel a whole lot better about my indecisiveness that paralyzes me and then I can’t move forward with a piece.
Same!
Same! 🤦🏼♀️
It happens to the best of us!
I think it turned out so elegant. Loved your vision.

I have been seeing on TH-cam lots of dark bases and light tops on furniture. I think it looks great.
I have so many pieces of furniture I want to make over. I hope mine turn out as great as yours. This is beautiful.
I LOVE the knobs, and can't believe you're not going to reuse them!!!😮😮😮
Super unique for sure! Could have been modernized but perfect for a rustic piece.
Such a beautiful transformation, Kara! You are so inspiring. God bless you and your family.
Thank you so much!
I can not believe how awesome that dresser looks. I'm fixing to start refinishing an old dresser I'm going to use for a TV 65 inch table. I hope I can follow you instructions.
I like the additional wood effect on the top drawer pulls.
It’s hard to believe that too isn’t real wood - it looks so great!! I love how you took the look to the top drawers. It really adds to the overall all look. Great job!👏
thanks Rachel!
I adore that original hardware!! Hope you use it on another piece.
Fabulous, Kara. Adding the second coat of stain was brilliant.
@Audrey-km9in Thank you! I appreciate you watching! Hope to see you next time!

Amazing! I want to try the reverse next!
So stinking pretty!! Love the color combo!! You made the right choice 😍

Wow! It turned out great! Love it!!
Love it
You’re damn good at what you do.
Excellent job. Love the black with the bare wood look top. I wish I had the space to do something like that.
The screen of plastic is perfect and easy to make. That’s a great tip. I’ve messed up the garage before. We are moving into a new house and my husband will be so happy if I don’t spray the walls.
I have seen people use camp tents as quick paint tents. Works well.
You are magic!
Came out really nice!
Love it! And that's a pretty dress, too!
Thank you! 😊
Nice job, Kara! Thanks for the inspiration ❣️😘 - Jill
Thanks so much! 😊
That turned out amazingly.
Could you not spray paint the drawers in the unit so you don't have to wrap them?
Hello! If there is overlap on the drawers and body it is easier to spray the drawers separate. If they sit inside the body of the dresser, you can spray it all together.

Glad you liked it!
Beautiful work 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Pozdrawiamy, 👍💙 Zostawiamy 💙
A very cool technique! I might have to give it a try sometime!
You should!
What an amazing technique, love it, I will be trying this! My question is, why didn’t you prime first? I always hear that it’s so important to.
only if I think it is going to bleed. You can watch this video here and see the difference in the woods. th-cam.com/video/HtHtuJjmRbY/w-d-xo.html
It was very helpful!!😊
I love it ❤
Hello. Silly question. I need to know how did you do wall covering 😊. Like what did you use
Oh I set it up like a shower curtain and then stapled heavy painters plastic to the pvc rod. Hope that helps!
WOW!!! 👏👏👏
Really well done!
Thanks a lot!
Congratulations! 🌷🌷
Thank you!!
Amazing!!
Thank you! Cheers!
What shade is the Retique? Beautiful piece.
I want to say barnwood? It’s where the link goes to.
Top looks like it’s Formica.
Question. Are you able to resell this for a good profit? What was your cost?
Hi Kara! Just wanted to let you know I ordered a surforep sander thanks to you and used your code for a discount. This is Wendy Kniffen from st. Augustine Florida but I changed my user name! Keep on keeping on! Thank you for your creativity and inspiration!
Awesome! Thank you! Enjoy!!

Wow! From ugly to gorgeous Kara! Great results! 🥰🥰
Love t. Good choices and workmanship

❤
Would look even better with legs. But really great job!
No...its not 'just a matter of a little paint'.....its a completely new piece becaus of your vision and expert hand .well done again.
Kara, I'm a subscriber❤ just a FYI.. Please, avoid fast foods especially fried in seed oils..Highly toxic
