I love your style of teaching for the beginner furniture painter - that’s me! You are very encouraging in your style of teaching and I appreciate that. Thank you!
When I look for a beginner video, regarding any subject.... this is exactly what I'm talking about! Thanks for breaking it down all the way to the basics.
Great project. For anyone who is interested in this you give very clear and detailed information. What a great way to bring life back into a tired piece of furniture
Very pretty. You gave a lot of useful information to anyone who wants to flip furniture as a job or for those who just want to spruce up something old. Thank you.
One of the first “flippers” I ever subscribed to and learned from was you, Christina. I learned so much over these past 9 years and have tried a lot of your techniques and they have served me well. This was a great video. Easy to follow and I hope it encourages those who watch it to take the step to create beautiful pieces for their own homes.
Thank you! I’m tackling a dresser and your videos have given me so much information. I thought it was more than I could chew but it is coming along beautifully. Thank you for all you teach us
Don’t you love those red lids for you paint cans?!!!! I love mine. I hate pouring from a can and it getting all over the sides. Those lids are awesome. This piece turned out great.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us all. I have wanted to paint several pieces of dark furniture and have watched so many different videos but this is the first video that took me through easy steps. You have inspired me to take a leap of faith and tackle my dark furniture! Thank you! 😊
Great info, Christina. I've been painting my own furniture for 7 years now & the first videos I watched were yours on a large dresser painted with Annie Sloan paint. You've given me so much useful info over the years. Thank you. I love your channel.
Christina this was so refreshing to watch! It is a very pretty piece 🤩 and I look forward to learning more about your New York/ Better Homes and Gardens trip!
Yes, I'm going to bite the bullet and paint the slender console table in my entry! I spray painted it with Krylon several years ago, so I'll definitely need to scuff sand first.
I just got two used night stands for my bedroom, and I want to refurbish it, so thank you for this video, because I’m not like a crafty person at all and I’m planing on doing this myself
Wow!! Thx you, thx you, thx you for this step-by-step how to video. Perfect and just what I needed to see. We just found your channel and will definitely be back for more.
Love this short and sweet video. I'm looking to update my furniture at home. Can you use a roller when applying top coat or do you have to use a brush? Thanks!
Love this! Can you please do a video on fixing the sanding rings accidentally made by the circular sanders? I think I ruined my new unfinished table 😩 Always love watching your videos ❤
Thank you for this video. I have been wanting to paint a cedar chest I use as a coffee table. My end tables are black, and I have a black cabinet in my living room. The cedar chest has some damage on the bottom legs. But I know that would need wood filler. I just don’t know if it’s wood or veneer. It’s a Lane cedar chest. But the back isn’t finished. So it would be if I painted it. I would love to paint all my bedroom furniture. But it’s real wood. We bought it probably thirty some years ago. So I’m not sure if I really want to. I love the hardware you chose. I definitely would change the hardware on my cedar chest. Mine has some old looking pulls. It sounds like a lot of work. My patience level isn’t too high right now. Maybe I’ll try to talk my husband into doing it. But I know if I want it done right, I should do it. So maybe after all the holidays are over I will have time.
Great job. Would using a sponge type square painter work? (it is a fuzz type bristle) I use Murphys soap for the inside of dressers and cabinets. Simple Green is very good too.
Do you have a video discussing different paints you have tried and their odor? I’m someone who gets headaches from strong smells so I’m hesitant to spend a lot of money on paint and not be able to use it
So do you wait for the piece to cure before listing or do you tell buyers it still needs time to cure at the time of purchase? Thank you for all the great info! ♥️
Love that you’re doing a basic. Can’t go wrong with that. Whats the benefit of doing your second coat on the body horizontal ? Does that help eliminate brushstrokes?
Have you ever been to a Restore store? Mine has lots of hardware for cheap...might have to dig through to find matching pieces but saves some $$ and find some unique styles
I checked this video on my phone and now on my comp and I can see imperfections. even though I love how it looks (I am horoscope virgo) ... how do you chose such a cool colours?
Hi Christina, I love watching and learning from you. I am getting ready to paint a hutch made by my brother, it’s raw wood. I want to paint it white, what do you suggest? Thank you
I’m applying primer, I sanded my piece, it’s somewhat of a dark wood. The primer is not covering the dark wood underneath, should I apply a second coat of primer? The paint I’m going to use a white color, so I’m a little concerned that the dark might show through if I don’t get it completely primed.
With this particular nightstand you can't leave the drawers in because they aren't flush to the frame. They rest on the frame, so if you left them in the frame wouldn't be fully painted. I would have had to remove them to spray as well in this case.
Thank you soo much for sharing this video with us Christina ❤ do you offer courses? I have a cherry colored bedroom set, I’m looking to change the color by painting the whole thing, it’s about 30 yrs old, but in great shape, any suggestions you can assist with? Appreciate it…
Do you like the sprayers with cords better than the cordless ones? I'm going to be buying my first one soon and want a cordless sprayer and hope the battery lasts. Also, which sprayer do you think works the best/has the best features?
My favorite for beginners is the Wagner Flexio. I have a corded version because that is going to be lighter and give less fatigue for your arm. Here is a link to the one I use.www.shopltk.com/explore/pretty_distressed/posts/e1863908-3ae3-11ee-b996-0242ac110004
shouldn't you be painting up and down on the sides and not sideways on the sides because you paint up and down on a door. when you paint up and down the brush strokes are harder to see
I love your style of teaching for the beginner furniture painter - that’s me! You are very encouraging in your style of teaching and I appreciate that. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I couldn’t agree more!
I’ve been collecting a few supplies and I’ve got a free practice piece in the basement. I’m doing it !!
Go for it!
Gorgeous work, Christina! I love the way you teach and simplify. G Ire
Always good to go over the basics. Thank you!

Awesome! I am so glad it was helpful!
Totally agree, starting my first flip today, this made me believe, “OK , I can do this” ! 😁

Don’t you love those red lids for you paint cans?!!!! I love mine. I hate pouring from a can and it getting all over the sides. Those lids are awesome.
This piece turned out great.
The lids are so good! Reminds me I need to link them!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us all. I have wanted to paint several pieces of dark furniture and have watched so many different videos but this is the first video that took me through easy steps. You have inspired me to take a leap of faith and tackle my dark furniture! Thank you! 😊
Love ! I'm finishing a pair of end tables the same color and trying to decide gold or silver knobs, just on drawer.
I think both would look great. I like gold and brass accents right now, so I went with these.
Graceful and classic! You cannot go wrong with a neutral color! Beautiful handles. Thanks so much for sharing
You are so welcome!
Thank you, I have always wanted to refinish a couple of tables and chairs. Now I feel more confident to do the job.

Starting my first flip today 😁 ! And YES ! THANK YOU, this video is very encouraging and helpful ! ❤️
Love it! Best of luck. You got this!
I’ve got a dresser that I need to refinish & I’ve been putting it off. After watching this I think I can do it!! Thanks
Go for it!
Great video! You have given me the incentive to delve into furniture refurbishing! 💐Thanks!

Awesome! Good luck.
Love the transformation! I need to just do it!
This was incredibly encouraging and so helpful ❤ thank you for making each step so clear
You are so welcome!
Perfect. Just what I was looking for to redo an old coffee table Ive been using for decades.
Thank you for posting!!! And for posting the products! Can’t wait to start my first piece!
That’s what I live to hear!
Wow!! Thx you, thx you, thx you for this step-by-step how to video. Perfect and just what I needed to see. We just found your channel and will definitely be back for more.
The way you work is amazing, this is a testimony😊
I use floetrol for brush painting and penetrol for oil paint. It minimizes brush stroke
Thank you so much Christina!
You are so welcome!
Great video! Yes, I'm inspired to try this myself!!!
Perfect! That was my goal.
I have a bedroom set just like the night stand and you have inspired me to attempt to paint them. Great job.
Go for it!
Thank you for keeping it to the basics!! I think I’m ready!!!
Yes! This is exactly what I wanted to hear from someone. This video was for you! 🥰
Love this short and sweet video. I'm looking to update my furniture at home. Can you use a roller when applying top coat or do you have to use a brush? Thanks!
Great instruction fora beginner, thanks from London! 🇬🇧
Thank you so much you are a great help it turned out beautiful ❤
I want to start doing this for fun this is very informative thanks
Nice job! It came out beautiful!

This is exactly what I needed 😊

Your vintage Lane cedar chest might be worth some nice money if in original condition. Maybe look into it before you do any changes. ❤
Love the simplicity!
Love those knobs!
Me, too!
Great job. Would using a sponge type square painter work? (it is a fuzz type bristle) I use Murphys soap for the inside of dressers and cabinets. Simple Green is very good too.
If you brush towards the edge it will not cause dips as bad.
Do you have a video discussing different paints you have tried and their odor? I’m someone who gets headaches from strong smells so I’m hesitant to spend a lot of money on paint and not be able to use it
oooooo I want to try those cleaning wipes! They could have come in handy on my latest dresser flip!!! Thanks for the video!
I used to use baby wipes. 🤦♀️ These definitely worked way better!
So do you wait for the piece to cure before listing or do you tell buyers it still needs time to cure at the time of purchase? Thank you for all the great info! ♥️
Lovely! Please tell me why you use a brush rather than a cabinet foam roller. Thank you!
Love that you’re doing a basic. Can’t go wrong with that.
Whats the benefit of doing your second coat on the body horizontal ? Does that help eliminate brushstrokes?
It's just stylistic. I like the way it looks almost like linen cross hatch. You could also paint in the same direction for a smoother look.
@@ChristinaMuscari Thank you for answering.
You are talking about step 4 using High Performance Flat for a top coat, is Wise Owl Furniture Salve you use in another video the same thing?
How refreshing! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Have you ever been to a Restore store? Mine has lots of hardware for cheap...might have to dig through to find matching pieces but saves some $$ and find some unique styles
I find lots of my furniture at the ReStore!
I checked this video on my phone and now on my comp and I can see imperfections. even though I love how it looks (I am horoscope virgo) ... how do you chose such a cool colours?

Very nice!!!😊🎉❤
Thank you 🤗
Really good advise re paint thank you
Love the videos could you use this basic way on redoing like a bathroom cabinet?
Absolutely.
such a helpful video, Christina!
I'm so glad!

Wonderful info. Thanks so much
If I use the beyond paint, could I just skip all the sanding, like in one of your other videos.
I am inspired to tackle a project.
Thank you for the info. I learned a lot!
Glad it was helpful!
QUESTION: So you talked about leaving the drawers IN, in a recent video, being easier. Did you mean just when using a sprayer?
With this particular nightstand you can't leave the drawers in because they aren't flush to the frame. They rest on the frame, so if you left them in the frame wouldn't be fully painted. I would have had to remove them to spray as well in this case.

I have online consultations through video chat on my website. app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=24993446
Ok, thank you! I’ll check on it there…
Thank you so much for your video ❤
When do you have to use the Zinsser with the red label? I think it hides the tannins better but it’s really expensive.
When you are painting a light color over raw wood or if you are painting laminate.
How long do you to edit to flip it, your saying 21 days to cure?
Cute thanks for the simple tips
Any time
Beautiful and nice to return to the basics. How did you get a coupon for the hardware?
It was an option at checkout. Looks like it is gone already. Bummer.
Nice work!

Do you ever add paint to the top coat
Only when it a dark color to avoid hazing.
I saw another video where the painter used a small roller to smooth out the brush marks
Thank you
Love your channel
Is chalk paint good for painting wood
Yes! I love chalk paint.
Nice!
shouldn't you be painting up and down on the sides and not sideways on the sides because you paint up and down on a door. when you paint up and down the brush strokes are harder to see
That’s right. Always go with the grain of the wood.
Like the makeover but that chip on the top front is killing me..
❤
👍🏼
I've done lots of refurbished furniture for myself and friends... my problem is I'm not tech savvy. Let alone making vedios. A how to will be helpful.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Where, which one for respirators????? You never link those. Those are one of the most important equipment.
You need gloves using any kind of cleaner.
This is more like pro level not ideal for beginners and lots of steps are meaningless.
