I think we are headed to the original 4 playoff teams making the playoff in the last year of the 4 team playoff (Oregon, Alabama, Ohio state, and Florida state)
You probably have teams eliminated based on realistic chances of making it, but I'm gonna argue a bit: Yes, you can TECHNICALLY make the playoff in this scenario, but its kinda a long shot. In order to make up for a G5 loss, you basically have to go undefeated and win your conference. You also have to have multiple ranked wins or good wins and have to hope that the team you lose to is a G5 or CFP conference contender without actually making the playoffs. For good measure, although it isn't necessary, you need at least one other conference or ND to have 2 losses. (See 2021 ND and Cincinnati for the best examples that fit this) So, to reevaluate based on what I have here (assuming they go undefeated rest of season): Boston College: The least likely of the 4 to do this. Despite NIU a MAC champ, only FSU as ranked opponent rn. Baylor: 3 potential ranked wins. Txst could be a Sunbelt contender. However, they did lose at home. Texas Tech: Climate wise, Wyoming is the toughest field in the country. 3 ranked wins. Wyoming Probs isn't a contender, though. Purdue: Fresno is a MW contender, and Purdue could get the top 5 wins against Michigan and OSU. 3 ranked wins in total. Also again they lost at home. Now, of course, this is just an extreme but still plausible scenario. Plus crazier things have happened, so you never say never until it happens officially.
I'm pushing back on elimating all G5 schools. If Westen Kentucky pulls the upset on the road against OSU and both teams win out, you gotta at least consider putting WKU in
i know it won’t happen but if Purdue were to win out with wins over OSU, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan they’d definitely finish top 10, i think they’d make the playoffs
I'd put Oregon over Washington and Alabama over Georgia to be honest. Heck I can see Oregon winning it all this year. Also Ole Miss and maybe Texas A&M should be dark horses as well.

A&M still have to play LSU and Tennessee even if they beat Alabama and possibly Georgia in the SEC Championship Game...
If the Alabama Crimson Tide loses to my Texas Longhorns at home and that’s the only game that they lose they could miss out on the playoffs.
