I'm really looking forward to the 4K of Amityville Horror remake! Thanks for telling me
@@donnyobryan8307 Same here!
Yeah 👍 same here and I wasn’t expecting a 4K for the Amityville Horror remake wow that’s a surprising too
July has been a financial bloodbath. Thanks for the respite Scream Factory.
I love Amityville 2005, can't wait
I'm pretty happy i can now watch The Stepfather with subtitles lol.
This is a great month for Scream Factory. I’m excited for Amityville, Village of the Damned and The Strangers. I’ll also be getting Tue Stepfather and Doomsday
@@MovieAddictMatt Yeah. I honestly think it’s their best month all year. For me at least.
I would have preferred Mouth of Madness too. Keeping my fingers crossed that they do that soon.
Your consistency is unmatched
Nothing matters until the faculty gets announced! 😁
Amityville Horror is a step in the right direction. They need more early 2000s releases such as Vacancy, Wrong Turn, Hills Have Eyes, 28 Days Later, Hostel, etc
Wrong Turn, The Hills Have Eyes, and 28 Days Later are all 20th Century Studios aka Disney so that will never happen. And Hostel is Lionsgate, who will not do business with Shout Factory so that won’t be happening either unfortunately. A shame too cause I would LOVE The Hills Have Eyes
We don’t need every movie on 4K especially if we have them already lol 😂 but that’s just me though
28 days later would not make a good 4k. It’s blown up to 35mm from standard definition video (I think that’s like 1/4 the resolution of HD). I like the movie and I’m a 4K only collector so it’s rare that I’ll say we don’t need a particular movie but that’s one example
I actually love The Boy. haha Excited to see it in 4K!
@@cobwebschannel I remember the ending elevating it for me quite a bit. Maybe need to rewatch soon.
@@cobwebschannel me too lol. Pre-ordered mine yesterday!
The Stepfather is a great family film lol
Watch it with your family with other films such as “The Good Son” 😂
and Orphan, Shout Factory just did a needless bluray of that too.
The boy is terrible despite special features, I’ll be going for strangers, stepfather, and amityville
Doomsday is great . It's like Mad Max in Scotland
With some John Carpenter Escape From New York thrown in as well.
@@barrydalgarno6564 You're right. It's like tribute to great 80s movies.
Village of the damned and the Stepfather are awesome!
Wow I didn’t not expect The Amityville Horror is getting a 4K release and thanks 🙏 for letting me know that Kenny bro 😎
I already spend too much on Criterion Sale!
And now even more movies!
There's no end until we give it an end.
It’s Village Of The Damned and Doomsday for me. Doomsday is an absolutely bonkers love letter to 80’s exploitation cinema and is a bizarre mashup of films like Mad Max, Escape From New York. It’s never going to win awards but damn, is it a heap of fun. OTT, violent, funny, it’s damn entertaining.
I'm looking forward until Scream Factory does a "In The Mouth of Madness" 4K! Love that film, only seen it for the first time around 2yrs ago.
@@IronWolf277 It’s fantastic and really deserves the upgrade!
I own the Scream Factory Village of the Damned Blu-Ray. But this new 4K/Blu-Ray has a commentary, so I'm all in on this! Great movie, better than the original.
Amityville is actually one of the better remakes out there.
@@Zachary_Dale I saw it in theaters back in the day. I’ve always liked it and thought Ryan was great in it.
@@midlevelmediayeah same here bro 😎 and didn’t know you like the remake too
Yeah 👍 same here bro 😎 and I always loved 🥰 the remake and I wasn’t expecting a 4K for this movie though
There are lots of tittles they could upgrade that i would get - Mouth of Madness, Final Terror, Hell
Night, Terror Train, Rabid, Serpant and the Rainbow, Autopsy of Jane Doe, Psycho II and III, and others. But none of these.
I’m a big fan of the original Village of the Damned and the Carpenter remake is honestly pretty good. Don’t listen to the haters, it’s a lot better than reputation suggests. Excited for that along with the superb The Stepfather and The Strangers. Might need to watch the Amityville remake and Doomsday before committing to 4K releases. Also pretty stoked for Graveyard Shift from Kino Lorber.
Probably get The Boy, Strangers and The Stepfather at some point. Pass on Doomsday, my usual complaint of the 4K disc missing the unrated cut.
Hey Ken, let's go in together on buying PHISCAL MEDIA...
I'LL TAKE STEELBOOK, when Available In STEELBOOK, if Not THE Art Work & The 4K Director Cut If 2 Copies, If Not THE 4K copy...
You can have the slipcovers and cases, Blu-rays, and all the extra bonus discs, so do we have a DEAL???
Doomsday is a great apocalyptic film it’s kinda a mash up of action and horror I would recommend u check it out Ken
Can't wait for the three disc sets to all come with the third disc loose and scratched....
I can hear the case rattles now. 😂
@@midlevelmedia it’s shocking they haven’t fixed their 3 disc cases yet. It’s the root of their scratching problems.
I’m hoping for a Second Sight 4K boxset of The Strangers. I have the blu ray boxset so I can hold off on the scream factory.
I forgot they did it, but yeah, that would be cool.
The stepfather was good but I prefer the remake Kenny and it’s just crazy I I just brought the blu ray version for this movie and also got the sequel too and I didn’t not expect it’s getting a 4K version
I want to place a pre-order for The Strangers. I would have prefered a steelbook. Does anyone know if Shout Factory has a pattern of releasing the standard 4K and later re-releasing the 4K on steelbook? I don't really pay attention to their releases so I don't know if steelbooks are common for shout factory and I don't wanna double dip if a steelbook would be released within a few months.
The Amityville horror remake is a day one for me, some interesting titles this time
Yeah. I thought it was.
Pre ordered all of them minus Doomsday. The Boy is s blind buy, love the rest of the release slate though
Definitely picking up The Stepfather. Pass on the rest.
Some interesting titles.
Ken, go cheap on Village of the Damned, it’s very dull and i don’t think you will watch it more than once. You could even wait for a sale to pick this one up. Nonetheless, it’s still an okay announcement for Carpenter completists.
The remake era films have a strong contingent of fans, The Stepfather is quite a big name title, The Strangers has a huge cult following.
I know nothing of Doomsday, but it seems the only serious dud of this slate is The Boy.
Looking forward to your coverage of the Vinegar Syndrome announcements. It seems they keep their exciting titles out of their main VS line so subscribers will have to pay into VSP/VSU/Cinematographe etc, and the early Demme film announced for Cinematographe looks worth watching.
We need The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) on 4K.
Hopefully in October!
Is it true that scream factory makes the slipcovers 3 months after release date and then stop ? Thanks
I hate to break it to you, but The Hills Have Eyes remake was put out by Fox. So i dont know if that will ever get a 4K release. The same goes for Big Trouble in Little China. The blu-ray just went OOP at Scream Factory.
Looking forward to Amityville and The Strangers. Don't own them on any format so excited to check out on 4K.
Same here!
I don’t own the stepfather and I live the movie so let’s gooo
Wtf I just bought the Stepfather blu ray for 22 a few days ago lmao I got Raising Cain coming now that one better not be getting a upgrade anytime soon
Scream Factory has been an epic failure for me this year. Stepfather is great but I don’t really need to upgrade my Blu Ray.
Can't wait for doomsday
I want both of these movies on 4k Ken Thanks for the news update 👍
Hello ken
Nice shirt! You look tired.
I am. Lol
The Amti Horror remake is ruined by too many 'quiet, quiet BANG!' jump scares...it becomes a bit annoying tbh
Bad titles. But I like it, I dont feel the urge of buying anything!
Ugggghhhhhhhh....
The Amityville Horror remake was GOD AWFUL and a slap in the face to the memory of the DeFeos (and the Lutzes). TOTALLY inaccurate and grossly exaggerated - the house didn't even remotely resemble 112 Ocean Avenue.
That'll be a hard pass for me; as much as I love Carpenter's Village of the Damned, I'm still okay with the anamorphic DVD. That vinyl is tempting though.....
Already have most of these on bluray and not double dipping. Maybe I’ll pick up the Stepfather since I held out on buying the bluray.
Village of the Damned is terrible. 😢
These releases are lame.
These announcements from shout factory' are pathetic and sad. Bc there is nothing new here just shout factory's recycling catalog titles that all already been released on bluray. But now get a 4k releaes at a higher price tag. Shout factory' should change there name to recycle factory bc that is what they have mostly have been doing now. Instead of releasing first time catalog titles to blurays they are just recycling catalog titles over and over
Such a tired narrative. Every movie deserves the 4K treatment. You don’t have to buy them.
@@AK12king no that's not point here. Bc there is so many unreleased catalog titles that deserve a bluray release. But shout factory rather recycle catalog titles that already been released on bluray to go the cheap route. Instead of releasing new first time catalog titles. And if you want to waste your money buying the same titles over and over again. Be my guess.
Don’t be so negative Tom. Not good for you.
First off I am not negative. I am just pointing out how sad it is that shout factory' is just going the cheap route. By just recycling catalog titles that already have been released. instead of releasing first time catalog titles either on bluray or 4k
I do agree with you, I would like to see some new movies as well, but Shout Factory doesn't seem to do that often. They have found a business model that works. They save money by getting every dime possible out of the titles they have the rights to. I can't fault them for that. You and I may not be interested, but quite a few people are, otherwise they wouldn't keep doing it. Not everything is for everybody.
