As the media defense campaign goes into overdrive... it seems to be that we are headed for round two of the "gamergate" cycle, which kicked off in the early 2010's, and has never been let go since.
With more and more industry power levels turning towards Sweet Baby Incorporated, attempting to rewrite the existing narrative, and manipulate history... its important to remember what actually happened, and properly call out this new barrage of media lies, omissions, and misrepresentations.
It looks like Gamergate 2 is upon us, because players just didnt want to buy a few trash games with bad consulting. Clearly thats not allowed.

Hey echelon, I've got a recommendation for a topic to look into.
Ross Scott a gaming review and machinama channel is currently in the process of finding a way to sue Ubisoft for the upcoming shutdown of their game The Crew at the end of March. In an attempt to protect consumer rights and stop the destruction of gaming media.
You've done videos about the protection of consumer rights in the past so I believe this is right up your alley.
Ross's channel is called Accursed Farms, he's made several videos explaining his reasoning and plans on how to sue Ubisoft and is looking for advice and exposure on the subject.

The thing about exposing the media is that the media can just make up whatever they want to counter it if enough of them agree to do so. This will probably become GG2 just because the major -puppets- outlets have already leapt to SBI's defense, so even if it came out tomorrow that SBI is named that because its leadership literally eat babies, the media would ignore, spin, and lie to avoid admitting they were wrong.

The people at the studios share the beliefs of SBI and hire them only to further hone the DEI messaging so it meets modern sensitivity and inclusivity targets while representing minorities in an approved manner. I have posted this elsewhere to be up front. As 57 year old female gamer here’s what I see in SBI: I see people who know nothing about gamers and gaming. I’ve been gaming since Pong started. They fail to see that all these men they hate have bought and played millions of copies of Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Metroid, etc. Those gamers had an ability to do something SBI and the like cannot do. See the world outside of themselves. They appreciate strong characters and a well crafted story, regardless! But SBI, well if it is not about them, it’s to be destroyed. I believe that is the definition of narcissism.

#1: You can simply google hate crime hoaxes and get plenty of results. For example, Cori Bush was caught sending fake hate-mail to herself. Jussie Smollett hired a few guys to beat himself up and lie about it. A bunch of people freaked out over a hand-pull loop in a Nascar garage. Etc. and so on.
#2: The pop culture examples I gave were Vic Mignonga and the Covington Catholic School kids. Turns out, you can stand there and do absolutely nothing, and yet people will still hate you for it.
#3: For the more topical examples, I talked about the group Black Girl Gamers. Gothix has plenty of videos on that organization, but when it comes to issue of consultancy groups they effectively came out of the shadows, threw themselves onto the fire, and then proclaimed that their otherwise entirely unknown organization was receiving heaps of hate mail.
#4: I gave an example video talking about Gamergate in general. Now I will give two by the same guy. In chronological order:

The biggest mistake that internet commentators make when talking about dealing with radical leftists is that they assume that truth is of value to those people, so if we all behave well and "be the better man," that we'll win out in the end. The truth is that radical leftists see everything as a social play for seizing power, including the notion of truth and good behavior. They lie, blatantly and without remorse, knowing that the average person isn't going to put in the effort to doubt them.

And i am pretty sure, it will also be with this case, since it´s an incredible inflated pseudo-problem. Similar as "killer-games".
Gamers always had that sort of prejudice. But the gaming community always came of on top. Why? Because we proof over time just by existing, others get to know us and get their own hands-on experience.
And actually: Many people aren´t that prejudiced as we fear - and people like these authors see them to be. I am very sure, it can´t be maintained. This topic will get increasingly irrelevant over time as the "killer game" stuff. Latter one just has a headstart of a decade.
The Gaming Community is similar to a good immune system. It can fight most negative stuff. For some it maybe takes more time. But it gets more and more efficient on fighting it (fight ideas, not people) and will very likely come on top in the end.
Just by doing what we enjoy. Speaking up against it. And finally, the reality will prove them wrong (Exeptions prove the rule though and we need to point that out enough)

4:45 - I'm going to say the same thing here that I said about your Sweet Baby Inc video. It does not matter. They would do this sort of thing regardless. The very nature of mass audiences means they can usually find one crank to gin up if they want a source, assuming they ever cared, and if if they really wanted a source to gin up but didn't have one they'd just manufacture it. No amount of "being better" would have shutdown these articles. In fact in the case of gamer gate we have the benefit of hindsight: You can clearly see they started calling it a harassment campaign and a hate movement long before any sort of "harassment" ever materialized. They started labeling it a hate mob the moment there was even a modicum of criticism about what is going on.
In an environment like that you can't keep wasting your time worrying if you're going to get called a troll. You are going to be labeled as one by the MSM unless you march in lockstep with their agenda. It's the same sort of thing that happens with the main stream media and how they portray protests. A boring peaceful protest of people they dislike is a hateful white supremacist rally. A series of literal riots that set a multitude of cities of fire and killed at least 35 people and caused countless amounts of property damage because it stopped being counted after the insurance caps were reached is a "fiery but mostly peaceful protest".
What actually happens or the conduct of the people involved is irrelevant. The Cathedral will make it's pronouncement and everyone who is in that cult will repeat it like it's true ad nauseam so those who don't pay any attention will think it's true.

Here is the problem. Even if we don't give them ammo to use against us. They will simply fabricate their own ammo, disguise as one of us, post it, and then self report their own post under a different account, to the strawman the customers again. They have done this in the past.

It won't change anything. Most people just bury their head in the sand and ignore how manipulative and terribly unethical media and companies like Sweet Baby really are.

I'm a black man who has been gaming since the early 90s. I hate this DEI bullshit. I just want a good product that focuses on gameplay & story. I've never cared about race or sexual orientation until it was thrown in my face every time I boot a cash grab that barely works.

Good video, bad conclusion. You've just spent 15 minutes explaining to me in part that the media was publishing articles that Sweet Baby Inc were being harassed before it was known about widespread, implying that they're making it up. People being on their best behaviour now isn't going to stop them from making further allegations of harassment, whether they be true or false.

What else do you want to do? Making it harder for them (and calmly exposing their lies and creepy manipulation) is the best you can do. And because it has sort of worked so far, their attempts are a confusing mess.

No you are missing the point. People had nothing to say to about the Steam group. Show me one place besides the original TWEET that sweet baby inc employee wrote talking about how that Steam Group was harrassing them. There are none they tried to weaponize Harassment to get the group shutdown when asked for receipts they could not provide any. So they literally brought harassment to the steam group on false charges of harassment. PLEASE make that make sense.

This is true. The only winning move is to take your money and leave. Don't support any organization who supports them. Be vocal about why. If there are more of us than them, we win. If everyone stays silent and doesn't change their spending habits, they win, even if they are 10% or less in numbers.

For some God-forsaken reason, I just imagined encountering a Sweet Baby Inc. employee in Helldivers 2 using voice chat. At first I thought that tons of players would troll them to shit, but then I realized that the vast majority of my playtime in the game has been completely non-toxic. Could you imagine how taken aback they would be at how chill and accommodating so many Helldivers 2 players can be?
"Oh, you're a new player? Awesome! I can show you the ropes in a diff1 mission if you want."
"You can sometimes find premium currency in these bunkers, but we have to buddy up and open it together. Here's how."
"I'll drop my Sickle on the ground for you if you want to try it out, I just have to die lol. [drops 500kg bomb on self]"
And the Helldivers 2 community would call such events "Babysitting."

I've heard this for years and it really feels like we have to ignore the bullies and hope they get bored and go away because the teachers that are supposed to know better won't get off their ass and stand up to childish behavior.

Dev (ShortFatOtaku) is one of the best sources of information on the history of GamerGate and how it morphed into what is happening today. I think he was a major part of it from the very beginning & still has a ton of links, references, & screenshots archived. If anyone wanted to know more about GamerGate or how Sweet Baby is connected, I would refer to him.

There's also the deepfreeze wiki that actually has historical documentation of the movement, and MentisWave who documented just how the media has lied about it, complete with links to said wiki.

@@AJ-po6up Are you sure about that? Vee and his followers, who have similar views about individualism as Dev, are criticizing him for constantly appealing towards the center, which is rich from Vee since he was constantly criticized for using the nonsensical horseshoe theory by the dissident right. This is a case of two liberals slinging crud to each other like lemurs on who is the better liberal.
