I planted dragon fruit on the 8th of sep and 5 days later I have 10 sprouts, I put the seeds in a Rubbermaid container with cactus potting mix and put it on the stove and turned the oven on to 300 two or three times a day just till the oven goes off.
How can you handle the needles without a care? Did you remove them beforehand? I was told if you removed the needles it will grow back with a vengeance.

Just started to plant dragon fruit here in Florida 2 months ago. It started to have shoots already and a tiny thing hanging which I mistakenly thought it was a flower already...only to find out that it could be an aerial root after I watched this video. I did not know that it has an aerial root.

LIke any cactus, it needs lots of sunlight. Less sunlight means less fruits or smaller fruits.
