    Great recipe! I have tried it enough times to say 2 things: 1) absolutely sieve the flour. It makes ALL the difference. First time i did not and I got a blob of gummy bread, super dense, not so good. Have been sieving since and the same amount of flour makes a much bigger, fluffier, and airier loaf. 2) Best to melt the dry yeast in the warm water rather than add it to the dry ingredients. it rises more homogeneously. I'll add a 3rd tip actually: 1 hr is *just* enough. Much better if you can let it prove for 2hr+.

      I did sift the dry ingredients and now will let it proof for 2 hours, but I wish I'd have read your comment sooner for the other tips. Thanks!

      I'm new to bread making. Will proofing in a preheated oven with a bowl of hot water work better?

    • @sphinx333
      @sphinx333 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@cherochow I usually let it proof in a pre-heated oven, not too hot though. I dont think the hot water bowl is necessary if you cover the dough with a wet kitchen towel, which I do.

    • @cherochow
      @cherochow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@sphinx333 thanks sphinx! I did cover with wet towel plus did the hot water thingy but it didn't rise at all. I was so sad as the ingredients cost a lot. What temperature do you preheat the oven to? And then you switch it off yes? With this method, do you still proof for 2 hrs?

    Another great video Fan. That bread looks soo good. Been watching you since I started my keto journey on 03/03/2019 today is day 377. 377 days ago I had one foot in the grave. I was 345 lbs. or 156.5 kg. Since learning your way of eating, and hitting the gym 7 days a week I am now 176 lbs. or 79.8 kg. I had so many health issues, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, sleep apnea, skin tags, bad skin, shortness of breath, high cholesterol, high liver enzymes, my waist was 52" or 1.321 meters, now it's 32" or 81.3 centimeters. I went to my primary care doctor at the V.A. (I'm a veteran of the US Marines) for my annual physical on Wednesday, 03/18/2020 and she didn't recognize me. As a matter of fact when she put my weight in the computer she laughed and said "the computer is asking me if I entered the right weight" lol . Everything has been reversed even the skin tags are gone lol. My skin is golden brown now, no more sleep apnea, perfect bp, blood sugar , liver, I lost my job Friday because of the virus crisis. But I found a new job the next day. The interviewer ask how old I was and said "let me guess, 44, 45" i said I'm 57. I actually have a tear running down my eye writing this. Because of your way of eating I've exposed all my lean muscle mass that was hiding under all that fat. People like you inspire me. Stay healthy Fan, and keep up the good work.

      So beautiful of you to share this Vincent. I’m so deeply moved. Our physical body has such profound influence on how we experience the world. It’s a vessel we live in. Congratulations! I love hearing such success stories. I've done keto and intermittent fasting for 6 yrs, not for losing weight, although I sure don't see my weight creeping up sometimes like before. I've improved my health in some areas. My HDL is 114; LDL 151; triglycerides 46, plus all other heart markers are excellent. So the dr. told me to go on a statin (stat!). I then asked her if I could do an nmr test (nuclear magnetic resonance) to test the quality of the LDL, and she said ask a Cardiologist. When they put you on a statin it's almost always for the rest of your life. I just wanted to prove it to them that my LDL is perfectly fine, as it goes up on a keto diet, so protective for the immune system and the brain. So I'm saving tax payers from paying for a toxic statin drug (I have Medicare).

      @@cathrynp3491 thanks for your comment 👍. My Dr. Said similar about my cholesterol level but understood it was from Keto. So she wasn't alarmed. She did say good fats are great for me. It truly is amazing what the keto way of eating has done for people. It is sustainable where so many said it wasn't. To ones that say oh it doesn't work I say that's because you don't work it. They want to push a "buy now" button on Amazon and Presto you you have a new life in a neatly wrapped box placed at your doorstep. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You have to make the commitment to really change lifelong bad habits and replace them with healthy ones. You've done it Catherine ! Congratulations 😀

    I modified the recipe to suite my personal taste. I was very pleased with the results! I cut the almond flour down the 3/4 cup and the ground flax seeds to 1/4 cup. I increased the vital wheat gluten to 1 1/2 cups. Then, I used a full package of yeast to which I added 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and 1/4 cup of warm water. After the yeast was proofed I added liquid to the dry ingredients. After an initial mixing I determined that the remainder of the water was needed. After kneading and resting the dough I baked it as instructed. I let the bread rest overnight then tried a slice with breakfast. It was fantastic! Thank you so much for the inspiration.

    Hi Fan. Thank you so much for this incredible recipe. I hope you don't mind that I made some personal modifications! I'm not vegan so I added two eggs to the recipe, then completely substituted the oil for butter (not 4 tbsp worth, though, much less, but I'm not sure precisely how much, I just eyeball, lol, sorry). Then when it comes to proofing, I could never get the dough to rise, perhaps I had the wrong kind of yeast. So now I add a teaspoon of honey so the yeast has sugar to "eat." Other keto bread recipes say it's okay to add honey/sugar because the yeast will "eat" it anyway and thus wouldn't count towards the carb total. But I still include it in the total carb count, just to be conservative. Even then, the dough rises so ridiculously big that I end up splitting into two and putting it in two loaf pans and getting 25 slices out of it, so the per-slice net carbs still end up being negligible for me, as someone who's on "dirty keto." Anyway, thanks again for the awesome recipe!

    This bread left me absolutely speechless. I've been making Keto bread recipes for years now with psyllium husk and was happy to finally see something different. I've never used vital wheat gluten before because I didn't know it was keto. This bread was unbelievable. The texture was superb, it was really like eating a whole wheat artisan loaf. I used it to make chicken, broccoli rabe, and mozzarella panini and with each bite I couldn't even tell the difference. This will definitely be in my bread making rotation. Thanks for a wonderful recipe. I would love more recipes incorporating this ingredient because now I have a 4lb bag!

    I made this tonight - oh was it good! Very filling too. I ate half the loaf. I am diabetic, but this only increased my blood sugar (at the one hour mark after eating) from 100 to 101 - without taking any diabetes medicine. That is just amazing I could eat so much bread and have no blood sugar spike.
    I tried doing the math to figure out how many carbs are in the entire loaf, and I come up with about 18 (for the entire loaf). One skinny air-filled slice of regular bread is double that much. This is a game changer. To me, it tastes just like whole wheat bread.

    I have been making your recipe for several months now. I make four loaves at a time and freeze the entire loaves and always have bread when I need it. My results are just great everytime. I store as we consume in the refrigerator, for me it does not affect the textures all, I think it depends on your particular brands of ingredients. Also. Now that I am confident with the results I experiment adding different things into my loaf, my favorite is caraway seeds. I also will add onion powder, garlic powder and crushed rosemary in various combinations, just incredible. I may try adding finely chopped olives next time and see what happens. Thank you again for such a wonderful recipe!

    I made this for the first time today. I think I may have used too much water and I tried kneading it in my KitchenAid. I’m not sure if that added to my problem. Not sure if I should have kept kneading it, but when I decided after about 7mins to stop, the dough didn’t come together in a smooth looking ball. It looked like an asteroid! I let it rise and then I baked it. Despite looking ill-formed, it tasted wonderful. My husband has hated every keto bread that I’ve tried, but he loves this one. I’ll keep trying til I get it looking as beautiful as yours. Tks’

    This has been a game changer for me, yes its slightly chewy with so much gluten its inevitable, but its the most authentic keto bread ever without needing 20 exotic ingredients from Amazon. Delicious.
    I tried it in a bread tin once but it doesn't work well, it likes to have plenty of exposed surface I think. I did roll some out and made pizza bases OK.
    I tried grinding some course almond into a flour in a mill machine, it was a disaster! as all it did was release the nut oil and I ended up with a very greasy raw ball of dead dough. Now using good quality organic fine almond flour and its really good.
    I don't think my gluten is quite as strong as yours as my rise wasn't quite as good, I am now activating my yeast for a little time in some warm water and half a spoon of sugar before adding, the yeast will eat most the sugar. Same size loaf as yours :)
    Finally, I bake normal bread for my (non-keto) family, I found the vital gluten is a useful booster for that too, in a 400g flour loaf, replacing 50g with vital gluten gives a much better risen loaf yet strong enough to spread without tearing.

    I’ve made this and your rolls and all I can say is that is the best bread I’ve ever eaten and I’m not a bread person. My brother tasted it ( he’s not doing keto) and loved it too!!! Thank you for these great receipts!! I’ve tried the egg rolls from other youtoubers but the smell and taste of the egg puts me off so I’m sticking to these beauties 🥰❤️ Much love 😍

    Hello there! I just made this bread and it is THE BEST EVER!!!!! I have tried a lot of keto breads along my keto journey and this is really the best! It is soft and tastes so much like real bread that if you didn’t know it was keto, you would not have believed it!!! And, moreover, it is so easy to make!!! Congratulations!!! (the only thing I changed was I used melted butter instead of oil). Maybe next time, I will try it with more sweetness so that it will be more like a brioche, which is something I have been missing since starting keto, four years ago.

    Hi. I've just started a Keto diet and was really missing bread. I made your Keto bread and it's delicious. Solid but moist, a bit like granary bread. One slice in the morning with scrambled egg. Perfect! Thank you

    Just made this bread although I used a loaf tin. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Closest thing to genuine bread I've yet made on keto. I may play about with the measures to make it a bit larger to fill up the loaf tin more fully but I have to say this is a fantastic recipe.

    Today I made my third bake. I’m absolutely in love of it. I personalize everything,so I add little twists but the basics remain the same. I love your approach and the vision of your recipes, I also have a lab in my kitchen,constantly experiment with food, lately with the keto view. Almond flour is not my first choice as it causes me inflammation but I respected this one as it’s so delicious. Thank you.

    You saved my life with this bread!:) I bake it for a year but I changed it a liitle bit. I add one spoon mayonaise-to break almond flour's sweetness and half a flaxseeds. Let's be honest, there is no good bread without gluten, lucky me I don't have intolerance ;) Best recipe on yt!

    Although i never used these flour as a bakery person but i advise you that you should not use oil in recipe but instead better use only water . The difference between them is oil makes things more chewy and water makes more crusty . Oil is elastic it self and makes it look like boiled . Bread is more crusty and crunchy and if it is a cake yes there go’s oil with it for softness . We use to wash the surface of the bread with water before it goes in the oven . And yes of course using water bread should be preserve more days even if again preheat the oven and water surface again and give it a 10 minutes and it will come as you done it in that time . Thanks for sharing .

    I've recently started doing the Vegan Keto eating plan. And so, I was so happy to see this video because one of the things I've missed eating the most on Keto was bread. So, I tried this bread recipe after watching this video. OMG! This bread is sooo good. The only thing I would like to know is if I can double the recipe to make it bigger? Anyways, this bread looks like and the texture feels like regular bread. Thanks Heavenly Fan, you are doing God's work. Bless you.

    Can't wait to try this! Ordered the vital wheat gluten just now from Amazon. I have made of few Keto breads but I am not really liking them.
    I am new to keto (1 week) already down 4 pounds. I don't need to lose much wait, but I am looking for less inflammation and a better blood pressure. I will now see what else the Heavenly Fan has to offer.

    • @terfalicious
      @terfalicious ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree - there is no bread without the vital wheat gluten & yeast (unless you're a fan of eggy-cakelike batter bread. I'm not!). I also use lupin flour, bamboo fiber, and pecan flour in place of almond flour (kidney stone probs preclude almonds - which btw is inflammatory for many people). They work great - just not a 1-1 replacement, yet much lower carbs! Go luck on your health journey and hope you have fun with making and eating this lovely bread!

    I tried this bread and was super nice, though i recommend using an extrafine almond flour. I used a coarse one and thinned it our on my food processor and didn't puff so much. Also I added 1 extra teaspoon of yeast and more resting time, definitely made a difference. Allow this bread to completely cool before storing it into a bag as otherwise it would loose its crustiness
    Thanks for this amazing recipe!!!!

Its pretty close, ill make again. Mine took 45 minutes to cook, but i did first 25 with a lid over dish. Thanks,take care.

    So ...first time I've tried this recipe . It didnt rise whilst proving or in the oven ...however it's still excellent ! 👌 i think what I'll try next time is to use sugar to help the yeast to work and of course the yeast will eat all the sugar ...so it's still ketogenic . This is still the best ketogenic bread I've tasted ❤
