Offshore wind energy production is being followed in many countries worldwide to fulfill their energy needs. This raises a simple question as to why India has no offshore windmills, despite having a 7500-kilometer coastline. There are many reasons behind India not having at least one offshore wind farm - those reasons are explained in detail in this video.
Also, we have explained how the produced electricity is taken to the shore, the use of substation, the working of offshore wind energy substations, installation of the offshore station, parts of it & many other things about offshore wind farms are explained in this video.!

The main problem is cyclones. Heavy clones form in bay of Bengal frequently. It is very difficult to withstand the cyclones.
