My personal opinion is that such a large wall built for the tsunami was not needed. If one day a tsunami is coming, we cannot directly see the beauty of the ocean that we have been watching for a lifetime. The reason for this wall is that the growth of the tourism industry there is declining due to the construction of the wall. The notion that the people who live there will feel like they are in prison because this wall has been erected is quite correct

My opinion is , if we are not going to stop the waves but slow down its speed, then probably we can go for 14 meter height blockade structures with gap, instead of creating a wall, because this will be a compromise between their government and people. Since water speed slows down by each blockade, the impact will be less. And also it will be less expensive than the wall so we can raise its height as required. Triangular structures might have harder strength to withstand high speeds. But this wont stop the amount of water coming in, but rather it will reduce the speed significantly , thus reducing the country material loses.
