Finally...someone else besides myself tuning up on the 100 yard bench! ***Nice start you have going there.*** It is said that when you move from the 50 yd. bench to the 100 that your groups will enlarge about 3 times. 100 yard groups require so much more from the rifle & ammunition & shooter but I think it will make you a much better shooter at the 50.
I have a thread going over at [Cast Boolits ] and it's called ( TUNING a .22lr BR at 100 yards... ) you are welcome to come over and post anything you like in that thread so long as it's about shooting at 100 yards. Lots of very smart folks there giving hard earned 'tips & tricks' with intentions of helping everyone shoot better.

as your video editing techniques, don't have us waiting for the magazine loading or bolt operating times ( that stuff is a given after all )

I may have pulled a couple of the shots I made with the brake on. This weekend it’s suppose to be warm 50 degrees. Lol, think I’m gonna test that some more. I’ll bet it’s about the same. I like the look of the rifle better with it on. Bergara only has a 18” barrel and it looks somewhat short to me, but just right with the brake on. Would be nice if it shot the same or better. I tried a EC tuner and I couldn’t get any consistent results with it so I took it off. Not sure about those things, people swear by them but my testing hasn’t come up with anything fantastic at all.

I bought another B14R last week. Have not had a chance to group test it yet - weather. I did try something that cut the cocking effort and bolt cycling in half. Good old straight STP. I applied a drop to the lugs and cocking areas on the bolt. Looks like they fixed the ejector issue as mine is tight - no movement.

I shoot center fire to 1000 yards regularly, 1500 on occasion with a 308 Winchester, 6.5cm and 243 Winchester. A Gamo Swarm magnum from 25 to 75 yards. A 10-22 with Volquartsen carbon fiber barrel, trigger, hammer kit and Archangel adjustable stock from 25 to 100 yards. I believe out of all of these the Gamo Swarm magnum has taught me more about trigger pull and follow through. I have around 6000 Crossman premier dome H.P, weight sorted and base formed, through it. 970 fps is the average chronograph. Somewhere between 250 and 500 rounds the accuracy starts to wane. I just scrub the barrel and right back to POA. I know most powder burners will snub this away, but some like I, may find trigger discipline and your follow through improved. If not you will definitely see it on your air gun targets. The Swarm mag. Is a break barrel with a pretty heavy cocking effort. I'm really banged up so most shouldn't have a problem. It is relatively cheap to shoot and deadly on larger birds at 50 yards, (crow size). Reasonably accurate to 100, (on calm days) with a decent scope with adjustable turrets and your choice reticle. Splatters the 14.3 gr pellets at 100 yards on hard targets. Excellent for small varmint hunting with in its range or for backyard work. Something else that impresses me is the trigger on my Swarm magnum. Especially since it is plastic. There are better, more expensive options but for the money and simplicity the Swarm mag is great. Mine is the gen1. There is a gen3 I believe available with some updates and changes.

Once again nice shooting. I could like a lot of other guys and say but mine shoots 1/2 moa with that brand. But that’s not me and every stinking rifle is different. I can say in the cold mine loves cci standard, when it warms up eley team. But thats at my elevation here in idaho. I just wish my cz shot like yours. My B14R is by far the better shooter. Nice video and thank you for being a TH-camr that shoots more than one rifle. I would love to see a comparison of both rifles, the CZ and the Bergara, each shooting their preferred ammo. Do it day at the range hostage challenge targets at 50, then challenge your viewers to do the same and post results. I love using that target to test rifles, i actually prefer it to shooting groups. Often times i am only shooting once or twice then moving on to the next, so it is a closer representation of how the gun actually shoots.

.22 is only so accurate. Even the $4000 rifles will only shoot so good. We are limited by the ammunition. Now there’s a big difference between 1.5” and .75” at 100 yards. Even between 1” and .75. Getting that 1/4 is hard sometimes with some ammunition and some rifles. Getting the right ammunition for your rifle in your price range is 80 percent of shooting tight groups with a .22.

If you find a lot of ammo that works well, can you then order it in bulk? Or, are you stuck chasing it on the internet? I shoot a couple 95 year old Model 52 Winchesters. One with mid fifties Litschert Targeteer Sr in 12x and one with factory ladder sight. So far, the Eley Match in the black box has performed best, but it's not on the shelves here. One thing that's interesting to me, being a motorcycle guy and watching the technology still advancing in big chunks, but firearms seemed to have peaked on development about the mid fifties and the improvements are very gradual since. My scoped 52 will put as many as you want to shoot in a one inch group on a calm day. If you look at the Winchester archives, sub moa was the standard with the 52 after about the mid thirties, These rifles cost more than a Model 70 and were made in the custom shop. They give up very little to modern rifles and most of the improvements are probably due to better ammo than anything.

Honestly I haven’t touched anything on this rifle. It has never jammed or miss fed. It’s been great since I bought it. Only thing I’ve done is move it from chassis to chassis and clean it. The action has been flawless. But, I would have smoothed out everything with 800 grit and then 1500 and polished it afterward. I’ve done that to several different rifles and it smoothed out everything. If that don’t work then maybe the grinding fix.

@@RimfireSS Then what did the comp do that made the groups worse? Did it mess up the tune of the barrel or did the holes mess with the aerodynamics of the bullet? It would be interesting if you have a comp that was solid.

@@jimbo3615 it changed the harmonics of the barrel. Honestly I’d have to do more testing with and without the comp on the barrel. Shooting 4 groups probably is not enough of a sample size to say one way or another. That will be another video in the not so far away future.

I think the coldest I ever shot in -- I live in northern Ontario -- was -50C/-58F with windchill, -35C/-31F without, and I can conclusively say that I hated my life that day, ha ha.
