Brilliant video i got a kit made by a company called Top. the instructions were not good at all. Turns out the wires are exactly the same as yours and i now have a perfectly good working remote locking toyota supra. Well done easy to follow video .Cheers
thankyou for the vid,, you made it look so simple, I have been reading my instructions for 3 days,, and after reading decided it was too complicated for me, but it says take off steering column, find wires in footwell, door pillars, my car would have been in bits,, in the morning I will go out and do it just like you have ( in the door) thanks!!!
Thank you so much, will be buying one of these for the wifes xsara picasso as now we have a baby unlocking the drivers door everytime to put the baby in the back is very time consuming in the great british weather :)
Thank you! for your help I have a Citroen Xsara Picasso, your video helped me a lot I bought my unit from amazon for £9.99 it came with intrusions but still your video is great all the best
Just done this on my 51 Plate HDI Estate using a different unit to the Right Click but the wires are exactly the same on the plug. I have used green wire, no. 6220 with white wire to lock and yellow wire,6221 with white/black to unlock. All I am getting is a clicking from the unit for each function on the remote, but it is not initialising the motor in the car. I have done this as a negative trigger as per your diagram in the video. Any idea where I am going wrong?
Where is the module for remote unlocking and locking for Kara coupe 1.4 ccm petrol? I want to replace it with another one. Is there something wrong with the gas pedal in the plastics?
I think I have used the correct wires. I have cribbed the info. from the Xsara Owner's Club site. A member used the Green Wire, # 6220 to lock & the yellow wire # 6221 to unlock as you have. I was hoping you might know if it is a positive or negative trigger. I am trying to locate an auto electrician in the Stoke on Trent/S.Cheshire area to sort me out. Nat's Dad
thanks for your video. I tried connecting my after market keyless unit to my citroen saxo mk2 (which has i assume similar wiring and system to your xsara) Problem is.... although locking works normally, unlocking works partially. All doors unlock except for the driver's door. And with driver's door locked, the lock function will not work for the rest of the doors (i assume because the system thinks that the whole car is locked because the driver's door is still locked)......
Good night. Sorry, But I have a question. When you connect the green wire to the negative connection, that these are only two wires. The positive is another connection, or they all in the same connection. That part I could not undertand. The red wire connect whith positive wire the car, ande the green whith negative. Thank You , and sorry de English. If you do not understand, you can explain this part.
It took me a while as I wired it round the wrong way, the coloured wires were slightly different and I managed to attach the unlock to the positive connections, after a while I realised it activates on the signal being sent down the return wire :-) im not the greatest with a voltage meter. All working now though, very helpful video
i try it on the mk1 xsara and there are alot of different first i had no live wire in the door , and the connector they used is one of the strongest connector know by man so no way I could run wire ure there but I managed a other way the the mk1 there are 2 small wires under the door rubber the one goining in the door a gray and a blue (the small ones) those are the one you need to tap in to ,and in the fuse box there is a 2 bolts between the obd port thats a good ground for a live I used one of the fuses an tap in to it and for the indicators I used a hazard swits there you can find the indicators wires pink and the brown but I not sure and then I stuffed the module in the fuse box and it worked
Hi, I didn't need to wire the hazard lights on my car as they already flashed when the central locking was operated by the key. So sorry, I'm not sure how to do it. You could try doing a search on it.
when you were checking the lock trigger wires did you just earth the other end of the tester bulb or did you connect it to a positive supply? it is a bit confusing as you say you extended the earth lead of the tester to the battery earth to check for constant power but you neglected to say where you connected the earth of the tester bulb when checking for the trigger wires ? thanks in advance N.
I have a citreon saxo 1.1 year2000 and has electric windows and locks but doesn't have the key with button to lock it. Can I install a central locking that works with a remote on my car?
I'm hoping this is close to my Citroen Xantia wiring the original key fobs are replaceable but the soldering service available these days is crap and the internal switches fall apart very quickly the kit I bought from eBay has the same key fobs you have on your locking kit. I've even bought the tester with a bulb in it, just need good weather now for a couple of days. oh and the time to try it out. well done Citroens are not the easiest cars to figure out wiring wise.
Hi there my dad gave me his old citroen xsara LX 2001 1.4 and I was just wondering if this car has remote central locking as standard as only came with the spare key what has no buttons on it but does lock all doors when I do it from the lock
Aaron Frater I think if it had remote central locking then it would have come with a remote key. As yours doesn't it's probably safe to assume it doesn't have remote locking. Because all doors lock with a key that means you have manual central locking
Hi, sorry, I'm not sure whether it's a negative or positive trigger. I really don't know much and only managed my system by trying what's on the video. I do hope you figure it out though - do let me know. Can you not try a local Citroen dealer? All the best
Hi. Sorry to hear its not working. All I can think of is that you need to locate the wires on your car, which when touched (as on my video) open and shut the central locking. It's these wires that you then attach remote control unit. That's the only way I know of locating the correct wires for your car's central locking. Alternatively if you phone a retailer and talk to their mechanics they may tell you what colours the wires are. Hope this helps. All the best. Regards
Brill! help me with mine..one on a focus 1999 and i also installed one on a 1.4 VW golf 2001 that didn't have remote locking.... done both on the same day.
hello, nice video. going to do the same to my car. the inside button of the car to close/open the doors is in function after you install the kit. thanks
Not sure if it is too late, but from previous experience it's a negative pulse on Vauxhall, brown/red wire is lock and brown/white is unlock. That's all you need to know splice that in and get perm live from window motor. The brown wire will be ground.

You're very welcome. It's nice to know that my struggles fitting the cl system is being helpful for others.

Great video, thanks for posting it! You answered 2 questions I wanted to know about. 1 fitting the remote and removing the panel. Good job :-D
Absolutely fantastic. I need one for my car and you´ve done a great job of explaining things. Ta. Tony

Would you reckon this would work on a Citroen c2? Wires can’t be that different?
Thanks guys for taking the time to comment on my video. It's great to know that it's been helpful. Best regards

Do you have the instruction available?

Thanks guys for your positive comments - pleased it was helpful!
Will this work on newer models? 2015 berlingo?
You're welcome! Did you get it fitted ok?
Good night.

Hi I have a fiat scudo 2002. Can you help me for correct connections? Thanks

the the mk1 there are 2 small wires under the door rubber the one goining in the door a gray and a blue (the small ones) those are the one you need to tap in to ,and in the fuse box there is a 2 bolts between the obd port thats a good ground
for a live I used one of the fuses an tap in to it and for the indicators I used a hazard swits there you can find the indicators wires pink and the brown but I not sure

From what I remember, I connected earth to a metal part on the car and the live to the battery

Hi there my dad gave me his old citroen xsara LX 2001 1.4 and I was just wondering if this car has remote central locking as standard as only came with the spare key what has no buttons on it but does lock all doors when I do it from the lock
Aaron Frater Hi, sorry, I'm not sure. You could try a Citroen Dealer or Google the model number.
I have but not had any luck as some lx models have it and other people saying how to install aftermarket one its all confusing as a new driver
Aaron Frater I think if it had remote central locking then it would have come with a remote key. As yours doesn't it's probably safe to assume it doesn't have remote locking. Because all doors lock with a key that means you have manual central locking
It's what I thought but I know I only have a spare key not even sure it's the original
Yes, if all doors lock from one key, it has central locking
